Spent a few days at the Cliff with my husband and teenage son. Property is situated on the Negril Cliffs and has a private, secluded location. At check-in, we had to wait for over 10 minutes after a long travel day before anyone greeted us at check-in... but, when in the Caribbean we know that we aren't on an American pace for service. We had a beautiful room (upgraded to Villa 1), which was stunning. Beds were comfortable, room was large and private. Enjoyed the private soaking tub located outside of the bathroom in a fenced area. At times we felt like the only guests at the hotel. Room was not cleaned our first day, but we were hardly there, so it really didn't matter. Received no guidance as to property map, amenities, guidance..., but found that this poor communication seemed to be consistent everywhere we traveled throughout Jamaica. Food was fine - service was acceptable. Purchased the breakfast package and was then up charged for our son at check-in, which was odd. Didn't not find value in the package at all - half of the items in the package were not provided to us, and we found out our last day that we had to ask for them or they would not bring. So, a $40.00 breakfast was a cup of coffee and a few pancakes! Enjoyed an AMAZING massage with Tanasia - one of the best I've ever had. Could jump off cliffs into the sea to swim, although it was a bit rough. Overall, the grounds, location, cleanliness and amenities were all lovely, but still have many things that they can do to provide a true, 5-star hotel experience.

Dear Sarah, Let me begin by thanking you for taking the time to share your comments with us! Overall, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time, eventhough you explained that there were some misses. I am not sure how you would have arrived and not be greeted within 10 minutes, the arrival experience of our property doesn't lend itself to that. Moreover, our security team is trained to call the front of house team to inform us of all arrivals. This gives us the opportunity to greet you with a welcome drink and refreshing cold towel once you enter the lobby. We will continue to work extremely hard at wowing our guests, and we do hope that you will consider us if your travel plans take you back to Jamaica. Your comments will be shared with the entire team and Tenecia will get a special shout-out for the exemplary service she provided. Stay Safe and we hope to see you again! Vernon

Hotel's Favorite
As many have described, The Cliff Hotel is indeed a special place. After a recent 5-day visit, I would add that very few places offer as much tranquility, relaxation and wellness The setting is simply breath-taking. Sunrises, sunsets and star-gazing are incredible. And the hotel itself is everything that you would hope for, with a staff to match. A shout-out to just a few of of the these wonderful people: O-Might was one of several World-Class bartenders who do their profession proud. In addition to providing some of the best cocktails that we’ve EVER had, he was gracious, humorous, generous and welcoming to our family. He provided us with wonderful cultural insights and memories for which we’re very thankful. In the restaurant, Nicole was the big sister who looks out for you. Her wit, warmth and charm accompanied and enriched our meals. And the KiYara Spa staff and treatments were simply amazing. Not enough good things can be said about them. You must meet the massage therapists and allow them to work their magic. In short, The Cliff Hotel is well beyond 5-Stars! Your mind, body and soul would benefit from a visit to this gem in Jamaica.

The gym is very small. You have to reserve it one person at a time. One major piece of equipment was out of service for our full 6 day stay. The front desk at check in did not give us any detailed information on what to expect. Not even a brief tour of the property or a map of where the yoga studio or spa was at. We missed the managers reception and only after that did we realize you need to check the front desk postings daily to make certain you don’t miss any opportunities. They really should send a daily email. The property itself if beautiful! Our room was spotless. No hair conditioner provided. The balcony with the ocean view and the hammock was heaven! Zest is the restaurant. The restaurant menu for breakfast and lunch was perfect but we could have used a bit more variety for dinner for longer stays. The food was good. We ended up eating off property 3 nights and local options are very good. The staff was pleasant and the 9am fitness classes were wonderful. I would rate this resort a 9/10. For a 5 star property I think they need just a little bit of fine tuning.

This is one of the most spectacularly scenic destinations you can find. 100% helpful staff with an excellent restaurant on site if you were willing to pay a little higher prices and wait island time. The staff could not have been nicer. We found it just so relaxing. You will need transportation on and off property so just be aware that there is not really shopping around. But it was perfect for our group of nine who were celebrating a 50th birthday. We got Villa five which was better than the pictures and a huge surprise. We had a ten year old a fourteen year old and a seventeen year old and all loved it as well. Carolyn at the spa and the yoga Class were big hits. We all loved the servers too. This became a very special trip. Be aware that you should arrive to the Montego Bay airport before noon on Friday if possible. Our departure at 3 pm on a Friday made it a four hour trip from the airport. Apparently unusual and only because of Friday traffic but travel on another day or make sure you get in earlier if possible. Still— all was outstanding. And I’m a picky five star traveler.

Dear Becklight, Your comments are so welcoming! It was our joy to host you and your family. We can't wait to welcome you home. There are some future road projects that will make the commute to the property more palatable; namely, the Montego Bay and Lucea bypasses. Moreover, we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us! Please stay safe and see you soon! Vernon

Another amazing week in paradise. We love The Cliff. They cater to our special gluten-free diet and even made my wife a loaf of home-made gluten-free bread. Choose this hotel if you truly want to experience the beat Jamaica has to offer.

This was our 6th visit to the Cliff. I'm sort of hesitant to tell people how awesome this place is because i feel like it's my little secret. I have been coming to Negril since the late 80s and found this place by accident and have always come back to ONLY the Cliff when im in Jamaica.

I can not say enough wonderful things about The Cliff Hotel in Negril, Jamaica. The gorgeous ocean water, the sprawling pool, the complimentary morning exercise classes at the yoga pavilion overlooking the ocean, morning coffee on the deck of our spacious room with a view of the garden, the pristine gym, snorkeling right off the hotel cliffs, the delicious and fresh breakfast, lunch + dinner offerings, and the quiet, romantic vibe...are all absolutely fantastic...But it's the staff at The Cliff Hotel that made our stay incredibly special and memorable. Vernon, O-Might, Adrien, Nikoi, O'Neil and many, many more employees at The Cliff Hotel always went above and beyond to make sure we we comfortable, happy, and having the time of our lives. I wish I knew everyone's names so I could sing their praises. I am already dreaming about going back again next year.

This was our first time in Jamaica, but we knew we had chosen well based upon the number of returning guests we met in the first few days. The hotel is located at the far end of Negril beach in a rocky area, well away from the 7-mile sandy beach. It was much quieter and less touristy and very chilled. Nearby, you could walk to the famous Rick’s café in about 10 minutes or several good local restaurants (Ivans, Murphys, Miss Pennys, Pushcart), although it was very dark in sections of this walk at night, and we preferred to use a taxi organized by the hotel or the complementary pick-up from Ivans. Although, the hotel’s own restaurant, Zest, was very good serving a mix of good Jamaican food, seafood, pasta and more. It suited a largely American clientele. The hotel is very spacious with a zen-like atmosphere, a huge pool area and a beautiful beach area with a unique rocky beach area with steps down to/from the sea from the ‘cliff’ edge. Or alternatively you could jump off the rocky cliff edge which is the popular thing to do. The views from the restaurant where you eat meals or the Cliff Bar on the beach are breathtakingly stunning. We even saw dolphins playing one morning which was magical. There were more children, including young children than we were expecting, although they seemed well behaved. The yoga pavilion area is incredible, looking out over the rocks and Caribbean Sea – a great place to unwind, courtesy of the complementary yoga/pilates classes with yoga being taught by Karin, who was superb. There is also a nice gym too with some good machines and free weights, although it does get quite hot. Our bedroom was spacious and on the 2nd floor (there is a ground floor and 2nd floor). It was very large with a huge comfy bed, good a/c and ceiling fan and a nice balcony with a hammock. The bathroom was nice with a good shower but no bath. Generally, it was quiet, although I am very sensitive to noise and a couple of mornings the housekeepers and reception staff moving around or talking woke me up before 7am. The sound bounces around from the reception area and one night the emergency generator across the road kicked in due to a power outage and this was noisy. We found mosquitos a bit of an issue, but the hotel provides electric pad type mossie killers and a citronella candle in your room. Most of the staff were very good, making our stay special, with Adrian (Cliff bar), Rochelle and Nicole in Zest and Kimmy (Housekeeper) going the extra mile. One or two don’t seem quite as well trained or suited to their jobs. We loved some of the small touches or unexpected surprises such as chilled face towels or the Managers drinks night. Although, once or twice we asked for things which were very small but seemed like too much trouble, which was a shame. New Years Eve was amazing and the fireworks simply incredible – thank you. This is a special and luxurious place to stay, and we hope to become one of those returning guests soon.

My wife and my sons had stayed here multiple times BEFORE covid. Post covid travel has been limited and it was time to head back to Negril. In Negril there is only one choice, The Cliff. It was great to see some of the same staff still there, but not surprising. Food is great, service is great, Vernon is the GM and ensures everyone is happy. I'm already planning my next trip back 💯
