My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and we absolutely LOVED it! Patricia and her staff, went above and beyond to help and make our stay wonderful. The bed was super comfy, pretty views from our balcony onto the moors and the food for breakfast was awesome. Both waiting and bar tend staff were great and I couldn't... More

Stayed here last night was great. The steak is amazing as was all the food. All the staff were brilliant and nothing was to much. Will definitely return when we come down again. Thanks for a great stay.

The first impression of the filthy white front door, the smell of wet dog and shabby entrance filled me with dread - Welcome to the Doghotel. The stairs and corridores were very shabby but they had tried to improve the bedrooms and bathrooms. Unfortunately the improvements had been done on a very small budget and the rooms still looked very poor... More

Had four nights at the Mooorland hotel. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Food was excellent. The reason we booked the hotel is because it is dog friendly. The hotel in some places was shabby to the point it made it look dirty.

Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay here. I am sorry you found some areas tired. We are constantly monitoring this and updating whenever possible. We are currently fitting a new floor in the restaurant which should help make this area look shiny and new for our guests. More

A couple of days in Devon in August what could be nicer? The hotel sits on the main road into the village, by main road I mean a small road that is lightly used. One view is of the moors and one view is a sea view, albeit in the distance. It's over there between the sky and the land... More

Thanks ever so much for your feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to report back. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Will put a message out to all that all spiders (and their webs) must remain outside! Sneaky little monsters. Appreciate the tip about the Blackout Liners. More

The lunch was was for 4 and we all totally enjoyed the meals. One had the ploughman's and this was particularly impressive. A whole meal, not just... More

If the marque of a top class hotel is judged on its Location, Architecture in the built enviroment, the Ambience and the Staff - then this hotel delivers highly on all four catergories. Use it as a base for driving around Devon, visit the local Zoo or Plymouth, or just stay local and walk, or enjoy the good service and... More
