My wife and I hadn't planned to stop for lunch, but happened to drive by The Hatchet and remembered it from years ago. We went in and the décor had hardly changed in 20 odd years, but it didn't seem to matter. The young chap behind the bar was very friendly and personable and as the first face you see...

An awesome back-road pub in a pretty little village in Wilts. An ever-changing good quality menu served in warm comfortable surroundings. A fantastic winter pub as well with a cast iron stove. Dogs very welcome :)

Lovely Inn full of character which feels like you are in the middle of nowhere , very quiet and idyllic. We stayed for a couple of nights in a comfortable double room , hairdryer , iron , trouser press , tv , complementary toiletries and tea / coffee facilities. Had a great nights sleep in the quality bed but could...

The Hatchett is a beautiful old pub that serves well kept beer. I visit for Sunday lunch which I found a bit disappointing. The roast chicken was skinless chicken breasts not something that had been carved from a bird in the restaurant. It was as could be expected a bit tasteless. The beef was ok but was extremely well done...

Went out cycling with my mates, wanted something light to eat and a quick drink, what a great find. Barmaid was welcoming and although a side of chips was not on the menu, it was easily sorted. They arrived quickly and we were able to enjoy the nice atmosphere of the pub, will definitely be returning.

This is one of the MUST VISITS in Wiltshire. The food is superb. We had two Steak and Ale pies. Excellent. We have been going here since 1993. We don't live far away, and always bring our American friends for a visit to this most beautiful pub. BUT HANG ON.... what has spoiled it for us is that horrible framework...
