Food: 1. Home made food & used locally grown vegetables 2. Super tasty & lots variety and some are really special dishes. 3. Great coffe and it's aroma takes your mind out of the world!!.
People 1. Mr.Tejpal & his wife are excellent people & great host 2. Cook was super cool & always ensured we are satisfied with taste & quality. Made food always fresh & hot.
Location 1. Surrounded by coffee estate , mountain & forest 2. River stream is just 5 minutes walk 3. Superb view points are 10 minutes drive 4. Hebbe falls is 10 minutes walk.
Room 1. Basic ( no TV) and minimal space 2. Hotwater available always
Other 1. Lots of birds to watch 2. Trails to walk 3. Play area for Badminton and indoor games 4. Camp fire
Note: Food home stay prepare is always vegitarian. People can bring non veg food from outside.
Surely we will visit again & explore more places near by.

Having missed the Himalaya trek this year, I was looking forward to a weekend getaway! A chance suggestion by a friend on this homestay made our decision easier and we had the best vacation this year! It was a home away from home, being taken care of, being pampered by husband/wife couple, we could not have asked for more. Our one day visit changed to a two day visit and we enjoyed every minute of it! We were spoilt for choices over food too, delicious vegetarian fare! Thank you. Saroja aunty and Thejpal uncle! We shall be back soon:).

I have visited this homestay multiple times, and the experience with the services stayed the same spanning over four years. This place is situated ideally between the hills and the river base flowing throughout the estate, making it look surreal. The rooms are neatly managed so does the entire homestay amenities. They primarily serve vegetarian food for all meals; however, if you request a few hours before, they would get a good non-vegetarian meal or starters from the nearby club. We ordered dry chicken pepper and chili chicken, and both the starters were lip-smacking. If you are not a regular spice consumer, you may need to put a word while ordering your dish. Kids have plenty of areas to explore, and so do naturalists.

We had a great staycation experience at Makkithitta homestay. We had informed Mr. Bharath earlier that we will have to work for 1 during during our 4 day stay and they made all the arrangements so that our workday went smooth. The caretaker Prema even went out of the way and kept our kid busy as we worked. The food was yummy with lot of variety. Also it is 100 percent vegetarian and quality is maintained. Only complaint here was sometimes if we reached the food counter late, food would be cold and sometimes sime varieties were finished. Rooms are basic with necessary amenities. But they can add a cupboard to keep and hang clothes as they would be lying around the room due to lack of any other space. The view from the resort is amazing. They also have a beautiful boat ride which can be used anytime. Other games like throwball, shuttle and trampoline are available. Main highlight is their hospitality and the home feel.

We were looking for homestay near Sakleshpura and came across MakkiThitta. We placed an enquiry and got prompt response from Mr. Bharath. He was so courteous, explained what facilities are available and how to reach there etc. Not a over statement, it was an exceptional homestay experience we had.. All staff and owners of the homestay went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Food is strictly vegetarian with good spread and delicious as well. Rooms and whole place is maintained very neat and clean. It is a go to place to experience homestay, nestled between nature and catered by wonderful hosts. Thanks Bharath and everyone for making our stay so pleasurable

It's my second visit. This time I had accompanied with my husband and his cousin's families for 2 days. It was a very pleasant trip, enjoyed each day. Hospitality is good, freshly cooked veg food is very tasty and it's an amazing place for family. Well maintained rooms and restrooms. This beautiful place is surrounded by coffee estate and forest. We had a pleasant stay at the Makkithitta homestay. It had a 360 degrees greenery surrounded with a beautiful view. Food is top notch. Mrs. Saroja makes sure the food is finger licking. Bharath is Saroja’s son and is taking care of the property and visitors. Bharath makes sure the hospitality is never compromised. Mr. Tejpal is Bharath’s father and is an amazing person. Make sure to spend sometime talking to Mr. Tejpal, he is an amazing entertainer. Please take the tour guidance from Mrs. Saroja; she knows the attractive and must visit places around. Overall, an excellent experience at Makkithitta Homestay. Thank you Bharath, Saroja Aunty and Tejpal uncle for an amazing service.

Makkithitta is wonderful place to have a relaxed time with family and friends. We get very tasty, unlimited and hot malnad vegetarian food . Vegetables used directly from their Farm. Thank you Mrs and Mr.Tejpal, Mr.Bharat for being so Energetic, ever smiling and ready to comply host. Thanks again for making us carry good memories.

We stayed in Makkithitta homestay for 3 nights and we were a group of 15 members. The place is super neat and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. The food was excellent and our kids had a great time. The best part was how homely the entire place was. I would highly recommend this for family and large groups. We visited around 4 places near the home stay which were superb. Overall an excellent trip for us !!
