2022 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Awarded with the “Certificate of Excellence” and “Traveller’s Choice” in 2019, also listed among the top 25 luxury resorts worldwide, Ayada Maldives is a luxury private island resort offering a truly luxurious retreat with a genuine Maldivian style. Set in the relatively unexplored Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll in the south of the country - just a few kilometres from the equator - the island offers 122 spacious villas and suites, all with private pools, butler and thoughtful five-star detailing. Traditional thatched-roof water-villas stand on stilts over the resort's peaceful lagoon, while beach villas offer absolute privacy amid tropical greenery alongside powder-soft palm-lined white beaches. Food lovers can explore the six restaurants and bars, while those seeking complete relaxation will find their haven in the large spa set in beautiful tropical gardens which boasts a Turkish Hammam as well as a Vichy Shower and eight private treatment villas. The resort is noted for its gardens and tropical greenery and is ringed by a pristine coral reef where dolphins are frequent visitors. The active can explore the area on a host of excursions that include visits to the equator, local villages and fishing trips, while at the resort they can play tennis or badminton, take up watersports, learn yoga or simply hit the 24-hour gym. Outstanding diving and snorkeling opportunities surround the island on reefs that have barely been visited by humans while some of the country's best surfing breaks are just a quick speedboat journey away. Weddings take place just before sunset in the private wedding chapel set in a treelined garden or on the beach under a gazebo draped with flowing material.

Just returned from Ayada in The Maldives. (July 16th-July 31st). It was everything it said it was! Overwater villas are a dream. Stayed in the "600" rooms; Sunset view. Rooms were spotless and cleaned twice a day. We are both vegan and the chefs and our butler made sure we ate like royalty each and every meal. Highly recommend opting for the Diamond package which includes a multitude of things. Meals ala carte can be expensive (lunch would run about $100-$150+ and consisted of delicious housemade vegan burgers and fries and 2 drinks, one appetizer). Cannot say enough positive things about the staff there. Our butler, Mihad, was topnotch. The hostess at one of the 6 on site restaurants, Sofiko, was so warm and welcoming. Suresh and Misdar were attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had plenty of things to eat. Jean was lovely to chat with! Enjoyed a Maldivian cooking class, several amazing massages, high tea, biking, snorkeling, waverunners, swimming in water that looked like liquid glass, evening activities, an amazing villa with 3 TV's, 2 bathrooms, glass floored living room, expansive deck with plunge sized infinity pool and spectacular views. Walking to a restaurant or back to our villa on the boardwalk was a treat as we saw sea turtles, black spotted sting rays and black tipped sharks as well as brilliantly colored fish. Took advantage of the floating breakfast (fun and yum!) as well as a private dinner for 2 on the beach with our own chef and waiter. Be sure to visit Il de joie for wine and cheese tasting and pairing (yes, they had delicious vegan chesses!) and ask Thendai to teach you about the wines he's serving or strike up a conversation with Roshan . You will not be disappointed here. If it's not on your bucket list, get it on your list and start reaching for that goal! Enjoy!

Hotel's Favorite
My mother and I came to stay at Ayada for 9 nights and every second of our stay was perfection, from the moment we stepped off the speedboat at the resort until we left. The resort itself took us an hour and a half to get to from Malé but don’t let that put you off, it is more than worth the journey! Our butler Ali met us at the jetty and was fabulous for our whole stay, nothing a was too much to ask for. He even arranged for a surprise complimentary massage for the two of us which was incredible! Accommodation: We stayed in an Ocean Villa which we would definitely recommend doing, the views out to sea are second to none. The villa itself is very spacious and has been decorated beautifully, a very special mention to our housekeeper Lakmar who kept our room incredibly clean and did the most beautiful bed decorations for us, we are truly grateful! Stepping out of the back of the villa every morning to see the beautiful orange sunrise was such a treat, and the reef by the villa was dreamy. We swam with turtles, sharks, manta rays and so many different species of fish I couldn’t even begin to name them! The most incredible part of the reef is swimming up to the edge and seeing the sea drop off into the blue, it really feels like you are on the edge of the world. Food: The food in every restaurant to us was more than 5 star. Magu in the morning for breakfast had some of the best variety of food, and the staff there are truly wonderful. We have to mention especially Sofiko and Raasih, Sofiko met us every morning with a warm welcome as if we were family, and Raasih had memorised our morning coffee order by the third day and brought it to us without having to ask. It is those little touches which made everything that little bit more special. We dined at every restaurant in the resort, and each was a completely different experience but all were amazing. Our favourite was Mizu, where our amazing chef (we sadly did not get his name), cooked us amazing teppanyaki in front of us and put on a brilliant show. It is a must visit! Entertainment: My mother and I are constantly looking for things to do and Ayada did not disappoint at all. We played tennis in the mornings and as mentioned the snorkelling in the sea was absolutely incredible! We had the diamond package which also got us a massage and 2 excursions each which were brilliant. The massages were so relaxing, the spa is really beautiful. The excursions we did were the aquarium snorkelling and sunset fishing, and the staff on the trips made them even more special! They really treated us as if we were old friends and they are trips we will never forget! Aside from the trips we also did the Fireshow lesson and played volleyball, which are an absolute MUST! Erdi from Fire Storm showed us the ropes, and we are still in awe of how they perform the tricks with fire when we struggled to even learn the absolute basics! Volleyball was also great fun with many of the staff joining in and playing it was really great fun! In the evenings there was always something to do, with an amazing carnival on one of the nights we were there. Our favourite had to be Fire Storm, their performances were truly out of this world, and you cannot visit Ayada without seeing them, we miss it already! All in all I really feel like we have left a piece of our hearts out in the Maldives, it was the most special holiday we have ever been on and I am already desperate to return. I am so grateful to everyone at Ayada for making it the holiday of dreams!

Had the most amazing time visiting the Ayada Maldives. The service, room, entertainment, excursions, EVERYTHING was TOP TIER. We had the best butler Mihad Ahmed who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. From arranging our trip to our departure they handled everything and made sure everything was seamless. If you want to be treated like royalty look no further than the Ayada. Tons of cute spots for photos, great food, pools, beach and variety in entertainment. I highly recommend the Ayada and definitely look forward to visiting again. If you book be sure to ask for Mihad Ahmed as your butler. We stayed at two different resorts during our trip and hands down the AYADA was a winning choice.

Maldives - The honeymoon of dreams! I’m writing this on our last day and looking back on some great memories! Ayada really is a phenomenal island, it’s breathtakingly beautiful and truly is the definition of paradise! When we arrived we were greeted by our butler ‘Mihad’ who in our eyes is a total legend! Mihad is so friendly, welcoming and has the biggest smile. He has been FANTASTIC. Always checking in to see if we are ok, answering questions, arranging our excursions/dinner/spa treatments. Collecting us late in the evening in his buggy if it was raining! What a man! Keeping us informed of events and what was happening around the island. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he went over and above for us. Mihad really has looked after us and we are forever thankful for making our stay so so special. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💖 On to other things… We had an sunset lagoon villa 402 and we LOVED LOVED IT! You can do as little or as much as you like in Ayada, it’s up to you. Lots of options There are two all inclusive packages, We have the crystal. Personal choice really in which package to go for. Looking back would we have upgraded to diamond, I’m unsure, maybe. But as we were on our honeymoon we got to eat in Kai and ocean breeze in the evening for free on one occasion anyway. We did eat an additional night in one of them and we had $50 each credit. Just look at what you want to do in Ayada and work out which package is right for you. Food Food has been out this world. Ayada really do have a talented bunch, food has always been so fresh, tasty and there is always so much variety. Magu have a different theme every night which even after two weeks never got boring. Mizu restaurant was a very entertaining evening - really enjoyed. Additional cost but really was worth it in our eyes. Harish was very engaging and entertaining, his love story for Anna captured our hearts! Poor Anna! Kai and ocean breeze also gorgeous. Ocean breeze is our favourite place to lunch, gorgeous views and so peaceful. SPA Such a lovely spa - beautiful! My advice is if you’re going to the spa go for treatments you wouldn’t normally have anywhere else or not had before. We both had the balancing ritual. I came out as a new women lol! Now on to special thanks… Great management team who run a great ship, it was lovely to see management so visible around. All staff were always so friendly and welcoming, I can’t name everyone but special thanks to the below… Afsar and Naïf - the mighty duo! They work so well together and always ensured our wine was topped up. Always had time for a chat and we loved hearing it Afsar fishing trips. Thanks to Azuham for always making sure I had a pot of the green garden pesto even when it wasn’t on the buffet menu! That secret green pesto is GORGEOUS and I’ll miss in very much! Guven at ocean is also fantastic, excellent service and very efficient! Thanks to Dhabo and Natta for a great shark snorkling trip! Fantastic trip and we went to two locations looking for sharks which we really appreciated! Bandar’s - Thanks for the personal tour of the secret garden - very knowledgable. Affam - for always keeping our room clean and tidy. Top man! Zero degrees Afu, always a smile on his face, always looking out for us and ensuring we are topped up with drinks. Thanks Guven for the game of chess and the chess tips, we both will try to improve our skills 😂😂! Sofiko - A ‘lush’ lady, always so happy no matter the weather. Inaani - even though we never got to meet the parrot after so many days we loved our daily parrot updates. Ranbi - for making the perfect omelette for me each morning! So tasty. Jeremy - again always so smiley and made the perfect noodles for Neil. Zaur - for always looking after us - you’re a dream. Suresh - for always being so friendly and welcoming, always lovely to have a chat and was always on hand to help. Thanks again Ayada! I’m emotional to be leaving but as they say you have to leave in order to return! Love Mr and Mrs Latimer xxx

My husband and I visited this stunning resort for our 10 year wedding Anniversary and what an experiance it was! We had a very bad journey due to london heathrow messing up but once we arrived at the resort we forgot the painful journey. The villa's are just beautiful! Stunning decor, it was pure luxury!!. The room amenities were great! The island is just out of this world. It really is paradise, it really is how it appears in pictures! #nofilterrequired hehe! We selected the Diamond all inclusive package which i would highly recommend! There is so much available on this package i.e complimentary water sports, spa treatment and so much more. We went snorkelling and sunset fishing and saw beautiful sharks. There was a great fire show display. The only thing i would suggest more of is variety in entertainment i.e. live singers and more interactive evening entertainment. The one thing that stood out for me was the amazing customer service from staff! they treated us like family and we miss them all very much. The resort itself is just breath taking, it was relaxing and that is exactly what we needed. We ate so much that there was no chance to feel any hunger. Please pass on our personal & very special thanks to the following members of staff: - Mohammed Niliam at Ocean Breeze restaurant - He went above and beyond, treated us like family and tended to our every need. A wonderful and kind human being. We miss you! Also the lovely chef at Ocean breeze! - Nasih at Kai restaurant - Nasih was just amazing, the conversations we had, his excellent customer service & being so attentive. He just made our experiance wonderful. He treated us like we were family. Most caring and sweetest! We miss you Nasih! Also please pass on our thanks to below staff members: - Manager Suresh, staff member Maisha & Shifaa at Magu - wonderful team at breakfast every morning! - Guven at Zero degrees - Samah at Kai restaurant (he is so funny!! - please look out for him, he made us laugh and became our personal photographer in the reataurant!) - Chef Risman & Shojol in Kai restaurant and Saddam hussein. - Harris Singh at Mizu (entertaining and funny with good teppanyaki skills) - House keeper Hasith - great work! Finally big thank you to GM Simon Quarrel for being ever so welcoming and wonderful! It has been a memorable wedding anniversary and we have left a piece of our heart at Ayada Maldives! We hope to return soon! Thank you :)
