We stayed only one night and impressed with the design and size of the room. However, this will be a great hotel with some additional touches. We had dinner buffet by the beach. The food was pretty good with Southern style food. However, we just realised after we finished our meal that there's grilled seafood stall at the other side of the restaurant. We believe most of customers on this side only had Southern food as we did. The room space is great. The water pressure from shower is the best I've ever had. However, no hot water!!! There's no foot towel in the bathroom. After my call, they brought a few old towel and said that they ran out of foot towels.
It is impossible to describe in words this atmosphere of vacation and relaxation in the hotel Ramada Khao Lak Resort Stunning beach, incredible sunsets, gourmet food and high-class service! On the territory of the hotel walk herons, there is a pond with fish, you can take a kayak to swim or watch the surfers in the evening against the background of the famous lighthouse.
After two long years it was great to be back at the Laguna.Same wonderful hotel but so sad that there where hardly any other guests yet and many of the staff have yet to return. The Oriental restaurent was not in use for obvious reasons but how good was it to have breakfast at Sundowners.Hope to be back soon
We stayed in a Siam Chalet room which was very large and comfortable with plenty of space for an extra large double bed plus a sofa bed for our daughter. Nice balcony too. Everything kept clean and tidy by friendly and helpful staff. The hotel grounds are lovely with good pools and the best location on the beach. The breakfast was varied and of a good standard, we did not eat many meals in the hotel as there are so many nice and reasonable restaurants within easy walking distance. We plan to return to the hotel, maybe to try out one of the villas which look very nice.
We visited KhaoLak Laguna Resort mid February for 9 days and found a paradise far from the maddening crowds. Whilst KhaoLak is a good 60m+ drive from the busier Phuket this remoteness lends itself well to a feeling of being away in a far flung destination and being able to truly relax. The hotel itself is very iconic with a temple like structure for the reception, bar and breakfast areas. There are many stairs so be careful as some are uneven. The staff were very welcoming and all were smiling. There wasn't a problem that couldn't be fixed. The breakfast buffet was ample and catered for asian and western breakfasts, although I would say that this area could be improved slightly. I personally didn't enjoy the Kopi (coffee) station but this was a minor blot on the hotels 5 star rating. Food at the hotel was good catering for western tastes and the stubborn palette of my children who wanted burgers and spaghetti! We didn't stay in one of the huts on the beach but slightly back around a pond where monitor lizards liked to swim. Think komodo dragons. They're harmless and relatively shy as we found when sunbathing next to one in the pool. The pools and the hotel were well cleaned and the beachfront is very inviting with warm and shallow waters. The guests are largely German, English and French in that order. However, the hotel was not crowded and everyone was relaxed and friendly. Nearby there are local shops and restaurants, although I would highly recommend getting a tuk tuk to niang bang market (150b) where we found the street food stalls to be better value and tastier than the restaurants near the hotel. Also we booked a day trip there to Koh Phi Phi islands at a fraction of the advertised price shown near the resort. Whilst it was nice to see Koh Phi Phi islands and monkey island, the total transit time of 6h+ is perhaps something I wouldn't repeat again in hindsight. Better to snorkel somewhere nearby if you like to see teeming fish up close, particularly as Maya beach is closed, for the purposes of preservation. In short, this is the best relaxing holiday we've had in years and far better than similar European holidays had in the past. Would highly recommend Khaolak Laguna Resort. A perfect start to the year!…
We have just returned from an outstanding holiday in this resort. The hotel is beautifully kept, the grounds are beautiful, the pools are great and the beach is breath taking. Add great staff and great food and you will understand why my husband and I loved this resort. We stayed in a bungalow and we would go back in a heartbeat.
Excellent resort well worth a visit , beachfront location about 5 minute drive to main part of Khaolak.. pool 5 star , little touches make this hotel the excellent value it is Staff are willing to help with any requests
This resort has lovely bungalows, which seem to have paper thin walls. The bungalows include all amenities that you might need during your vacation: beach bag, slippers, robe, beach robe, beach towels etc. The terrace is lovely with two chairs, two stools and table. I wouldn’t personally choose the villas next to the beach since most of them are in the middle of hussle and bussle during the days. The best thing about this resort is the lovely beach and the sunbed which all have sun bed covers and pillows. But also the worst is related to the same thing: during our two weeks stay, we saw the same trash around the sun beds (next to the beach) - nobody was cleaning around them. The Sundowner restaurant by the beach is fairly expensive compared to Thai restaurants. But the food is good and the sunsets are fabulous!…
A wonderful hotel, set in a stunning location, we found the staff to be so helpful and polite! The room was stunning, everything was nice and clean. The food was amazing, we had a fabulous experience all round and I’d definitely recommend, don’t overthink it, just book it and you won’t regret it!!
This was our second time staying at Khaolak Laguna and we noticed that improvements are being made. Gone is the buffet and the smoothie menu. Instead all meals except for breakfast are a la carte and a comprehensive drinks list. There is an Asian buffet / barbecue once a week which was very nice with some traditional dances being performed. We had a siam chalet which was very clean and spacious with everything you could wish for - toiletries, beach bag, beach towels, dressing gown, slippers and robe for beach. The staff were wonderful - couldn't do enough for you. We would especially mention Sin? Who is on the egg station and makes the omlettes who has the most welcoming smile! The pools and the pool areas were spotless and there were plenty of sunbeds. There is plenty to do and see in khaolak. There are shops/restaurants etc just outside the hotel. There is also a night market at bang niang which is a tuk tuk ride away (150 baht). Good fun just to sit and watch the world go by! Also we hired a tuk tuk taxi and driver for the day through reception for 2,000 baht. Driver was great - just ask for Jim. He took us to butterfly/orchid farm, temples, waterfall, tsunami memorial park, little amazon and walking street in Takua pa and as it was Sunday it was market day - that was well worth a visit! There are a variety of nationalities here so great place to meet new people! We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back.…
