We have now been lucky enough to visit Khao Lak 6 times and stayed at some incredible resorts but this stay at the JW Marriott was a highlight. Booked in 2019 we had waited a while to return and it didn't disappoint. We arrived at Phuket very late evening after a long travel with airline loosing our luggage and concern that arriving 2.5hrs after our scheduled arrival we may have missed our pick up to the hotel. But were greeted at the airport by our friendly driver in air conditioned mini van and taken to the hotel for a very warm welcome and efficient check-in process. TIP: always pack your swimwear in your carry on! We booked a pool access room which was worth every bit of the extra we paid. The room was spacious, clean, and light with a super comfortable king size bed and a balcony where we could enter directly in to the 1.9km swimming pool. Really comfortable outdoor lounges also. The pool is undoubably a highlight of the hotel as you can literally swim around the whole resort. There is a small fridge in room but no freezer so you need to order ice when you want it. They were extremely accomodating with this. Also tea and coffee but no milk supplied in fridge (not a big deal but worth mentioning if you like a tea or coffee in room) The mini mart just outside the entrance to Marriott is well priced for soft drinks, beer, snacks and all those bits and pieces you may need. Having said this we were on the full board package and had more food and drink than we could consume. The quality of the breakfast Buffett is outstanding with so much selection, egg station, bakery section with waffles, crepes, pancakes and french toast, pastries and great selection of bread. Juice station, coffee and tea to order.cereals, salads, beautiful fresh fruit and a fabulous asian foods section changing each day with everything from curries to rice and noodle dishes and dumplings .The waterfront where breakfast is served is light, spacious and large looking out to the beach and offers both indoor or outdoor seating. The staff here were beyond exceptional, they remember you, are polite, efficient and go above and beyond to please. We loved the breakfast! Thank you Pooh and your amazing staff. Lunch could be eaten at the beach bar or pool bar and was again a varied menu from burgers to thai food and really more than we would normally eat, we often shared a meal between us. The restaurants for dinner were all amazing and varied with very generous serves and high quality menu. Olive the Italian restaurant was as good as any top Italian restaurant here in Melbourne. The menu was a la carte with so many incredible dishes to choose from. Ronaldo and Enzo are both to be commended and we thank you for the time you spent with our amazing olive oil tasting session on the night we ate the sunset BBQ there. Again one of the highest quality buffets we have every experienced on this particular night. There was only one buffet dinner during the week we were there but very worth attending. A special mention to Kit and Paula at Olive restaurant who provided us with top class service and friendly, lovely conversation. The Japanese and Thai were again both high quality and very generous in serves. They usually have a cocktail special each day which is two for one which is nice to have pre dinner, or at pool bar/beach bar. On other trips we have not had all meals included and always eat at local Thai restaurants. Although we enjoyed the incredible quality of the food at the hotel we did still forgo some meals to eat in Khao Lak and also at Be Friend restaurant on the beach right next to the hotel. For us this is one of the best things about visiting Khao Lak, supporting the locals, eating traditional Thai and so cheap. They have a fantastic games area with squash courts, billiards, table tennis, and a gym and group fitness area with classes like boxing and yoga. You can use the bikes free of charge for an hour which was awesome to go for a little local ride. The bikes were very good condition/new mountain bikes. The Marriott is set about 15 min from the main shops of Khao Lak, about 10 mins drive to BangNiang so not walking distance but easily drivable in a taxi that will cost you 300baht one way 500 return. We had such a fabulous holiday at the Marriott and although I have mentioned a few staff by name every single person who works for the hotel was exceptional. Thank you we will return next year without a doubt.…
JW Marriott Khao Lak is at the top of the list of my favorite resorts. Because of those huge pools, lush gardens, elegant buildings plus that perfect lawn and sandy beach, I just cannot give it fewer than 5 stars no matter what. I visited the resort for the first time exactly four years prior to my recent visit and immediately fell in love with it. None of the resorts that I knew before was this good. In addition to the pools, the gardens, the lawn and the beach, I was also extremely impressed by the lemongrass scent that already filled the room when I entered it and the French press that came with ground coffee. Aroma oil burner is still available on request, but, sadly, the French press is now gone and replaced by instant coffee. A French press may not be as posh as an espresso machine, but I find it very classic and classy. I really, really hope it will be brought back, unless you are planning to upgrade to espresso machine. Instant coffee just doesn't fit a JW. I don't really have any complaint this time, only some suggestions. First, the rooms in Wing 3 near Splash Bar have probably the least pleasant views in the entire resort and offers little privacy. All I remember about the view is emptiness and a misplaced tile on the bar's roof. It also felt awkward when other guests swim pass my room with me lounging on the balcony trying not to make eye contact with them. Please consider adding some trees or plants and glass railing. Second, I think it's staff members like Khun Lek and Khun Money (Is she still there?), with their manners, that make the resort feel expensive. It would be nice to have more like them across the resort. Third, some staff members refer to me as 'Khun Pee', which is the Thai equivalent of 'brother'. I don't find it offensive or anything. It just feels 3-star. Fourth, staff members who stood by the drop-off point still looked unsure whether they should greet me when I showed up in a 4WD pickup truck. Please do something about it. Lastly, please bring back the French press. I does make a lot difference to the staying experience. Given 4 years with 9 stays totaling 20 nights that we have had, I think I can call this a relationship. I have been keeping my end of the bargain, by visiting the resort as often as time and money allow and by dining at the resort's bars and restaurants as much as I can afford, and I hope to remain your loyal customer for a long time to come.…
Warm welcomed and good accommodations. A lot of facilities all included every gentle. Very awesome breakfasts and good Japanese, and Italian food. Be large beach area. Big swimming pool. Also if you need therapy that is the good place for Thai massage and spa.
The JW Marriott is one of the best resorts we have stayed in Thailand. Amazing location on a lovely beach. The pool access rooms are wonderful, relaxing clean and very spacious. The Italian restaurant is amazing, the food is very good. The staff are so nice, Chef Enzo is so passionate about his food he came up with something different for us to try every night. The Saturday night Italian BBQ is a must .Freshfood imported from Italy. The staff Anisa, Macha Yom made us feel very special. This is our second time at this resort and will definitely return.

If you haven't stayed here yet, your missing out !! My wife and I enjoyed a ten day stay at this resort in June this year - we have been holidaying at the JW Marriott Resort Khao Lak annually since 2014, and it never disappoints. The resort caters for all your needs, from attentive friendly service delivered daily by the staff, through to the extensive Spa and activity facilities, to all the excellent dining options. I recommend this resort to anyone with or without children, they cater perfectly for both – my only advice being, children of any age who don’t have water safety smarts / can’t swim, will need extra close monitoring around the extensive pool and beach areas .
We had a great stay at JW Marriott and can warmly recommend the hotel to others. It is great value for money in the low season and very family friendly. The huge and interconnected pool is an incredible offer, and the direct beach access likewise. You can borrow open kajaks and SUP boards from the hotel, and there is good surfing only 2 km away. The breakfast buffet is enormous and very, very good, and the hotel has several fine restaurants - although they are much more expensive that places outside the resort. Our rooms were generally quiet, and the aircon wasn't too noisy, and you get big porches/balconies with lights for some evening reading. They particularly come in handy if you have small children sleeping inside. The staff were friendly and competent throughout, and the place was generally clean - and capable of handling the massive rain showers that we got a few of.…
I stayed only one night and it was a great experience! Hotel itself is beautiful with longest swimming pool around hotel, Breakfast had many of choices and beautiful view from the restaurant. Coffee at Deli is soooooo good it’s boosting my day. Staff are top! Hard work and friendly thank you k Julie and Olly thats always have a great service 💕 definitely come back
It is definitely a place I would like to come and visit again and again, the nicest people work here and they are so skilled and attentive, they regularly bring ice water when you are lying on the beach. The best place I have ever visited. the warmest recommendations from Fam. Jack, Julie, Rumle Agermose
This was our 5th visit and stay and the first since the pandemic. We were delighted to see the renovations. For the first time we had the package with food and spa. It was great and we will certainly choose this again so long as the prices don’t rocket. The hotel was apparently 50% full. It certainly felt much emptier than our previous visits. The services were generally excellent and the staff exceptional in their friendliness. It’s hard to pick out individuals but Pooh and Sorn at the waterfront and Punni in the Thai/Japanese restaurants were constant stand outs. So we would highly recommend this hotel and we will certainly return!
