A great 2 nights stay at Mabula. It was our daughters 17th birthday. Staff super friendly and lovely ambiance. Great game viewing 4 of the big 5 with the best game Ranger Kellé. Very knowledgeable and nothing was too much to ask of her. Arrived as guests ... left as friends. Only small problem was the length of the bed... More

Happen to chance upon this lodge when looking for safari tours. About 2.5 hours away from Johannesburg. For first time visit to safari , a private game lodge is quite a good option as you could get a pretty close up look at the animals. Accommodation and meals and two game drives are included in the rates. One late afternoon... More

This place has an atmosphere of a true bush experience! The bungalows are beautiful. The meals are buffet style all you can eat with a wonderful variety of foods from crocodile to eland to Impala. The grounds are beautiful from pool area to tennis courts to spa. The bar is also very nice. The sitting areas were amazing! Warner our... More

We have been visiting Mabula Game Reserve almost every year since 1990. Our most recent visit confirmed that it remains our great rejuvenation week. The recent disastrous drought has had a profound effect on the quality of the bush and obviously on the wildlife. But it is still one of the most relaxing weeks of our year. One concern is... More

This review is slightly mixed. Mabula comes highly recommended and we really looked forward to our vacation. We generally had a good time, its a really relaxing and quite holiday spot. The following were great elements: - I can highly recommend the spa. The therapists are highly skilled and professional - They have the big 5 on the reserve and... More

Mabula is a private game reserve that includes a hotel component, a timeshare program of 2 bedroom cottages organized in a series of "camps" and a reasonable assortment of game drives, a horseback ride and an opportunity to spend overnight in a tent camp away from the main lodge complex. Meals at the lodge are buffet style and include both... More

We spent a long weekend there in August and we're a late booking so did not have the choice of rooms we could have if we booked early. Our room was average but comfortable, but would have liked a couple of chairs on the veranda. Staff and management were excellent aspects of service. We had an anniversary and Michael went... More

Overall not completely satisfied with this facility. Could be more activities, staff could be more knowledge. Game drives was the was a big highlight at this lodge as was exceptional. Spa was fully booked on arrival. The should cater for more guest. Food was phenomenal. Rooms are in good condition but good offer more and tidiness was exceptional.
