Detailed Reviews
I did my week of required quarantine in COOEE president, It is very impressive how the administration managed to provide an excellent service and hygienic measures in these difficult times. My room had a Seaview, the balcony has a pretty view of the beach and the city, it was also quite and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they also provided all the hygienic measures against covid-19 in order to protect their client. Additionally, the food was top notch! it was very delicious and the portions were very generous. I highly recommend this hotel, amazing views, good food and excellent service. Stuff were extremely friendly from the receptionist Fatiha to all the stuff who work in the kitchen and deliver the food. Would definitely visit again after the covid situation gets better !

I visited this hotel with my 22 year old daughter for 11 nights from the 19th September. This being our first holiday to Tunisia I was a little nervous, having read some of the previous reviews, but I can honestly say that we've had the most amazing time.
We arrived late morning and were greeted by the very lovely Fatiye who had us quickly checked in and remembered our names throughout our stay. We were directed to our room which was comfortable and clean. We had requested a sea view and weren't disappointed. The aircon was very efficient and, yes, the sheets look a little aged but the maid, Saouda, came every day to make the beds and leave us flowers on the arranged towels. As has been said in other reviews, the chamber service do only make the beds and sweep the floor but, to be honest, we shouldn't need someone to follow us round, picking up after us, not even on holiday. Saouda was lovely and we chatted about our families a few times while she was working.
Food in the restaurant was varied and delicious. Plenty of choice even for my vegetarian daughter. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Rabiya who set a table for us, complete with flowers, a bottle of water and glasses of wine at every lunch and dinner. A very different service to the "if you're English don't expect anything" comments in earlier reviews. We find good manners and being friendly are always reciprocated. Likewise, the bar staff came to know us well and we were never left waiting whilst others were served before us. My only criticism is that some of the staff could be a bit overly familiar, but once you shrug off your English space boundaries and enjoy the attention it's fine.
The two pools and surrounding areas were well maintained and cleaned, with the cleaning, maintenance and garden team working hard throughout the day. Same with the beach area. There are a few Looky Looky guys down by the sea but they don't hassle you to buy and are actually just happy to sit for a chat.
For all of the above, it was the absolutely superb animation team who made this holiday so great. Aladin does fabulous Henna tatoos and is then happy to reapply them before you leave for home. The rest of the team, Michael, Mimi, Hasim, Zan, Muhammad and DJ Leo are incredible. They work tirelessly every day from 9 am to midnight making sure everyone has fun. Zan does really good aqua aerobics each morning, then on to Michael for relaxing Yoga, just some of the daytime activities. They dine with the guests in the restaurant and are always happy to be approached by the kids during that time, too. They are very attentive throughout the day and happy to join you on the sun loungers for a chat. Nighttime entertainment is just as fun, starting with a mini disco and the hotel club dancing every evening. Their enthusiasm is second to none and we knew all the moves by the end of our stay. Michael does the most incredible Michael Jackson tribute, his moves are absolutely spot on and a joy to watch. Thanks to their boss, Morinho; you have an amazing, talented team.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for a lovely holiday. Thanks to all xx

Dear Angela, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you and your daughter enjoyed such a memorable stay with us. Knowing this was your first visit to Tunisia, we’re especially delighted to hear that your experience exceeded your expectations. It’s great to hear that Fathiya provided a warm welcome and made you feel at home from the start. We're also glad the sea view, comfortable room, and attentive housekeeping by Saouda contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Your positive remarks about the dining experience, with special recognition to Rabiya for her thoughtful service, mean a lot to us. We’re pleased to know that both our variety and attention to your dietary needs made meals a delight. We're proud of our dedicated animation team—Aladin, Michael, Mimi, Hasim, Zan, Muhammad, and DJ Leo—who work hard to keep our guests entertained day and night. We’re pleased you enjoyed their energy and creativity, from aqua aerobics and yoga to the evening mini disco and Michael Jackson tribute. Their dedication and talent, supported by their leader, Morinho, truly make a difference in creating unforgettable holiday moments. Thank you once again for your kind words and recommendation. Really enjoyed the hotel was here for 15 days and the hote had a great room with really comfortable bed and nice views of the pool and beach, 2 big and 2 small pools that were really good very clean and fun, lots of great people that we met and chilled with during our stay, really good food in the resteraunt with new dishes every day that we loved and the desserts were amazing, amazing staff everywhere from great bartenders that were really friendly every day and night in both bars and fun animation entertainers who put on great shows every night and really became friends of ours during the day really cool people, great cleaners who leave towels shaped like hearts and other things on the bed with roses and the people who work at reception are extremely welcoming made us feel at home from the very first day to the last day. The beach was one of my favourite beaches I have been to the water was warm and clear the sand was really soft and the views were great. Everything here was so cheap could get cabs from the hotel to hammamet and other places for 10 dinars which is like £2.50 and souviners for as low as 1 dinar the beach also had lots of water sports we did the banana boat which was only 20 dinars per person and some really nice restaurants and shisha places on the local strip. Also had great people on the hotel like people who do henna professional photographers and people who organise attractions like pirate ships quad bikes camel rides and more ( we both got hennas for 20 dinars all together got a some pictures framed and printed by the photographer and went on the pirate ship all very cheap). Really recommend this hotel and location 10/10 experience.

Myself and my family have returned today from this terrible place. We spent a week in this hotel and have very few good things to say about it. We arrived mid day and upon arrival reception staff spoke very little English and gave us little to none information about our room, facilities etc. after spending a few hours at the hotel we complained to reception and requested a hotel transfer which was not an option and we were moved rooms despite paying for a bungalow room we weren’t even given the option to view one.
Food/drinks
The food at this hotel was basically inedible. No options for English guests other than fries that were surrounded by flies. There were more flies within the restaurant than there were outside. We ate out of the hotel every day we spend there after viewing the food they had to offer each day. The bar nine/ten just a two minute walk from the hotel had beautiful food and would highly recommend. The drinks menu within the hotel consisted of about 8 different drinks of which 3 were actually drinkable.
Rooms
The first room we were shown was an accessible room which was dirty and bathroom facilities were too high for children to use. There was also rust on the floor of the bathroom and the bed sheets were stained. We were then moved to a second room which was slightly better but still not “4 stars.” Beds within the hotel we’re also hard as rock and has left me with an aching back. Also I don’t think there was even a point in providing maid services and they just made beds without changing the bedding once during our stay and gave clean towels.
Staff
Staff were mostly lovely although spoke very little English which made communicating the issues very difficult.
Facilities
The facilities within the hotel were just awful there were two pools one of which was green and due to this I didn’t even bother going in, Lifts were broke so used stairs every time to get to our room, Shower in our room was broke and leaked every time we used it, every sun bed was broke, reception never had money to exchange causing you to have to walk 10 minutes in scorching heat to the cash point, the list goes on and on.
Location
The hotel is located across the road from the beach which was nice however there is absolutely nothing else there other than a theme park that blasts music till 5 am. There is about 5 restraints outside the hotel nincluding bar 9/10 which as I have mentioned was a lovely bar with lovely food and staff. There are a few shops that sell typical holiday items and that’s about it.
Awful hotel. Will not be returning pictures on the internet are extremely outdated and do NOT represent the actual hotel. Save yourself any disappointment and don’t stay here!!!

Been here a week.
It's clean, room cleaned and fresh towels every day. Around the pool cleaned daily and restaurant areas cleaned throughout meal times. Staff can be seen cleaning public areas and toilets constantly. Beach towels are available for a returnable deposit and can be exchanged each day.
Main course choices are numerous, salad and fruit limited choice. Salt and pepper are in bowls in the buffet area, so it's a matter of remembering to season your meal or bringing some to your table in a napkin, in my opinion all of the food needs seasoning and hot food is less than luke warm most of the time.
The linen is grey; both towels and sheets and the bed has not been changed, I asked on day 6 and was given a top sheet only. Bottom sheet still not changed now day 7. The room is in good condition and appears to have been refurbished perhaps earlier this year, walk in shower and a double bed! TV options are French or Arabic.
The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful.
The sun loungers have seen better days, all sagging and uncomfortable. Flies are a problem outdoors at hotel, very annoying around the pool and when eating outside. No problem at the beach though and nice breeze there too. The usual vendors stopping by but not too persistent.
It's end of season so not much doing nearby, and the hotel was quite quiet at the end of the week then busy over the weekend with Tunisian guests. However the food choices are still plentiful, unlike end of season I've experienced elsewhere.
All in all, I'm pleased with the holiday apart from the linen and loungers. I wouldn't rate it 4 star though, 3 at best.

We booked an all inclusive package via loveholidays and was very sceptical about the hotel after looking at the views on trip advisor. Safe to say we were more than impressed and feel that the negative reviews create such a false impression of the Golden Tulip and staff.
The only negative about the holiday was the delayed check in for us, we arrived at 12:30pm and was advised the room would be ready at 2pm, which is stated on their website. We were given our all inclusive bands and was welcomed to have lunch, after eating, a walk around and a few drinks we didn’t get the room key until 3:30pm as they were so busy with an influx of new guests arriving.
However, the wait was well worth it! We booked a standard economy room which was located on the 4th floor, they do have lifts. We had a room which included a double bed, single bed and balcony over the pool and slight sea view too. The room was clean and spacious, included a mini fridge stocked with water, air con and tv. Each time we popped the sign on the door for our room to be cleaned it was and we were given fresh towels too.
All inclusive is definitely worth it, unlimited drinks which included alcoholic drinks like cocktails and beer and three buffet styled meals. The food variety was good, something for everyone and the days themes changed too from Mexican to Italian etc. Fahia (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) welcome us to each meal and the restaurant staff are so attentive.
The pools are brilliant and there’s no need to fight over sunbeds as there’s plenty. You can hire pool towels from the mini market on site, the couple who own this are lovely and know how to have banter like us British.
The hotel is located directly across the beach and there’s sunbeds there too you can use for free that belong to the hotel. There’s a little white hut too where you can get soft drinks and water with the all inclusive bands. Always felt safe leaving our belongings on the sunbeds and hopping in the sea and there’s someone from the hotel watching the beds.
We booked two excursions whilst at the hotel with Chedli, the pirate boat and quad biking! Both amazing experiences and couldn’t recommend enough! Transfers will pick up and return you to and from the hotel which is included within the price. Aladdin gave us some lovely henna tattoos too! The entertainment team and staff are spot on, really go above and beyond to check in with you and ensure you’re well.
No amount of photos or what I can say will do the Golden Tulip any justice, we had such a great experience and honestly would love to go back. We would like to thank everyone for their hospitality over the past week!🌷🥰

Don’t believe all the bad reviews. Some people just like to pick fault. We stayed at Cooee President from 6th Sept for 11 nights. We asked for a quiet room and we’re given one overlooking one of the pools and the stage where the nightly entertainment took place. The room was huge and very comfortable.
The food was plentiful and varied, with something to suit all tastes. Yes they ran out of plates at busy times but it was only a short wait till staff brought more. Our complaint was the greedy people who piled their plates high but only ate half! What a waste.
The pools were great! They were cleaned everyday and the Pool areas were thoroughly cleaned too. Whoever said one was green and dirty, must’ve been at a different hotel.
The staff were all lovely, especially the bar staff and the guys that brought your drinks while you soaked up the sun. Please reward the staff with a tip as their wages in Tunisia are very low.
The beach is so close, also cleaned every day. The sea was like a warm bath. There are a few shops and restaurants outside the hotel too.
All in all, we had a great time. One tip, if you like to read, bring your own books as the book exchange in the hotel had no English books. There were very few English people in the hotel. Mostly French or German. No newspapers or English tv either and as our Queen passed away, we would’ve liked to have seen some coverage.
Would we come back? That’s a definite YES!

This Hotel is NOT 4 star!
If your English be prepared to be ignored or spoken to rudely!
The place is full of flies and rooms are dirty with dirty linen and towels which they basically leave in room and won't replace? Yet they have a sign in room to say you will be charged for soiling linen! What a joke it's already filthy!
The food is another joke there is same repetitive food and flies all over . No staff are helpful in this dining hall. Food gets cold due to mass queues. No plates or cutlery. Horrible options. Nothing is labelled correctly you don't know what is what and there is no Veg options if your vegetarian, 1 person was in our group I mean its 2022 and if your a so called 4 star hotel? The food was horrendous. The entertainment staff are over friendly.....as they are selling or promoting things to make money for Hotel.
There is no bar at pool. The waiters only serve who they want. If you’re English count yourself out.
The Rep came on 2nds day and was so rude to people who raised contact he told one women to shut it? He again was just selling excursions he didn't care about anyone.
The excursions and massage staff harass daily to buy deals for days out or massage!
They won't leave you alone
Save your £ for better place and that is actually 5 star ! I won't be returning to Tunisia or Cooee President ever . Safe to say I was running out the place.
Next trip will be Greece, nicer people and the 2 star hotels there are better than this place with better food , staff and facilities as well as welcoming people

I choose this hotel for my first trip to Tunisia to celebrate both my Birthday and my Anniversary.
We was met with a decorated room with food and fruit on our arrival, a lovely start to our holiday.
They then decorated the room again the day of our anniversary and offered us a personalised Cake.
I would not consider the hotel a 5*, it needs a fresh lick of paint and a General refurb, plus the food became repetitive but the location and the Customer service definitely makes it deserve its 5*.
If your a non-smoker it will take some getting used to as they allow guests to smoke everywhere so as a non-smoker it would have been nice to have some non-smoking areas but I would definitely recommend the Hotel to friends if they plan to visit Tunisia.
A unique experience and a lovely holiday, all the staff deserve a commendation for their hard work.
Thank you to all the staff who helped in making our Holiday unforgettable. (Krystal, London UK)
