I spent a wonderful week with my son at Sandies Bathala. The journey started with a speedboat transfer which was too fast and kinda roller coaster but much fun also as we’d taken pills to avoid seasickness. Our beach bungalow was clean and cozy, white and minimalistic, the mini bar - actually a small wine cooler - was empty, but every day there is still water in glass bottles. The bungalow was cleaned twice a day, towels changed for request. Food and drinks are good! Rosé wine, beer and lemon daiquiri were fine. I ordered Prosecco from the bar twice, and for the first time the bartender suggested the most expensive they had - so first check the menu to be ready what you will pay for. And yes, you’re allowed to take your drink to your room in glass. Another thing you should train yourself ahead - to say no to another tasty pasta or pizza, those were really fantastic: 3 types of pasta/1 risotto for lunch and dinner… delizioso! If you’re not that much addicted to Italian cuisine - there’s a variety of traditional local cuisine, fresh veggies and many more. We had only one trip to see the turtles and visit the sandy island - the trip was nice, well organized, the turtle seemed friendly enough to swim with the big company in masks and snorkels :) The trip to mantas was cancelled because of bad weather conditions so I decided to ask for an upgrade to a water villa - just added some money to what had been planned to be spent for a trip - and we spent the end of the vacation at another beautiful location on the resort. As my son had had some surgery on his knee and it was quite hard for him do have long walks - the walks through the island didn’t cause him any pain. The house reef. Just can’t find more words to express the emotions we had! I’d suggest everyone try to snorkel the island around and you will meet: sharks, turtle, clown fish, trigger (titan) fish, stingrays and many many more!!!…

If you want paradise this is the place to go , everything about this beautiful island is perfect. We stayed in a water villa , you wake up and look out into a clear blue sea with hundreds of tropical fish , turtles and sharks . The food is amazing, the entertainment is great the staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The Snorkelling is the best I have ever done big shout out to Silvia who is the most wonderful marine biologist and such fun to be with . If you want the best holiday ever this is the place to go .

We stayed 10 in an Overwater-Bungalow facing south. It was the best option we could get. The bungalow is as shown on the pictures - really nice, functional, clean, well maintained. Not overly luxurious. Snorkelling directly in front of the bungalow is impressive. The food is a nice mixture of local, Indian (including a nice espresso) and Italien. Specialities and varieties change daily. The best part has yet to come: Diving is the best I experienced so far. Temperatures were 29 degree (water); mild to medium current. Less impressive (or rather dispappointing) were the other activities (Yoga, Zumba, Streckung). It is a small island, so please keep you expectations low. This is really the only negative point. The guests were mainly from across Europe (Italy, Switzerland, Germany etc. as well as some Russian guest; not to forget the Honeymooners from India and Sri Lanka). Altogether a good mix. We came to Sandies Bathala for a week to relax on our honeymoon after spending a week exploring Sri Lanka and oh my goodness what an amazing place. The Maldives itself is of course incredible, but Sandies is such a lovely, friendly, intimate resort that feels like home after no time. We wish we could’ve spent another week there. We stayed in a sea villa and we would say it’s definitely worth it, having your own space to sunbathe, snorkel off of your jetty and just enjoy the peace of the sea was relaxing beyond belief. The food at Bathala is also delicious, each meal we had was so so tasty and fresh - the chefs are incredible and so friendly! All staff in fact are super friendly and always on hand to answer any questions and there to help make your stay extra special. We had an amazing time - haven’t stopped thinking about it since!…

Is paradise. The people is very helpfull, the hotel is very confortable, food is great. Best vacation ever , the best place for a porposal 💙 You can snorkle by your own, they provide you the gear, lots of fishes , mini sharks and rays to see around the batala island.

The place is fantastic. The view, the facilities, the room and the food are really good. The snorkel is really cool with a lot of fishes. The staff makes everything more special. Shout out to Vincenzo and Haris. The part we didn't like much is to pay extra for the internet.

Me and my newly husband come here for our honeymoon and the place the people the food everything was beautiful a little bit of paradise the staff couldn’t do enough for you so helpful we loved the guys at the cooking stations at lunch and dinner spa was amazing I love my massage and facial we didn’t wear shoes for the whole trip just so peaceful and lovely soft sand and I seriously have some honeymoon/Maldives blues I’m so glad we picked this island and we hope to be back one day
