Great experience. Based on a traditional colonial "walawwa" theme with contemporary facilities. Good service. One of the best guest service providers during this pandemic. Friendly staff. Each and every staff member is dedicated and experienced. Calm environment. Surrounding tank paddy field and jungle patch gives perfect impression. Relaxing accommodation. Unique architectural design offers the peace of mind. Average food. A la carte menu restrict the variety of preferences.
My family and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Ulagalla and was warmly welcomed. The greatest part of the stay was meeting Rolex- the happy and playful horse. The view from the deluxe room was amazing. The food and the staff were definitely beyond expectations. Will come again soon.
Every aspect what has to be to call as excellent hospitality, Uga Ullugalla has it. Worth to spend not only a night rather days yet you will not be satisfied. Welcoming to the hotel is awesome. Very unique way which you will not see in any other hotel in Sri Lanka ( as far as I know). Guest Relation, Ms. Nilushi is top notch.. So touched and unique. Rest of the team are the same. Food was amazing, cleanliness of the villa superb. Villa experience is wonderful. We came for a honeymoon trip which do not have any single negative comment to right. Excellent team work. Well done. We really miss the place.... Pls try this place in your next trip to Sri Lanka. 👏👏❤️
It was my first visit to Ulgalla and I suspect it won't be the last. A delightfully expansive place staffed by unobstrusive yet warm and wonderful people. An extraordinary effort was made to cater to my veganism, for which I am grateful. Indeed, the food was sublime. A place of true value that I would recommend without reservation.
This was my second trip to Ulagalla and this time around the experience topped my previous stay, which I thought was not possible. The entire stay was an experience par excellence. From the warm welcome, to the in-depth briefing of the facility, Covid 19 preventive protocols and a brief insight into the history of the venue was very well done. The care and personalized attention was simply amazing. The venue itself is breath-taking, contoured by lush greenery and pady fields. We stayed in the pool villas (16 & 17), which hosts a contemporary layout with a living area, bedroom and washroom. It's extremely spacious and can be equivalent to small apartment. Each villa had a plunge pool with a jacuzzi, that simply hits the relaxation spot. I've shared some photos to bring color to this review. Traveling around the facility is made easy through three options; buggy travel, walking and bikes. Each villa has a set of bikes to make life a lot easier. In addition there are a host of facilities available from; archery, horse back riding and kayaking to name a few. All very well curated to suite everyone's needs. I especially would like to compliment the staff; Dilrukshi, Katherine and the restaurant staff for a splendid effort and attending to all our needs. The word "cant" wasn't in their DNA and they went over and above to make us feel special and cared for. A big kudos. This venue is principle not advertised as child friendly but nothing of the service and care fell short. My 1 1/2 year old daughter was taken care of with no risks. The staff went out of their routine to support dietary needs and comfort of my daughter. Great work! The food too was top notch. In our three day stay, every meal irrespective of it being at the main restaurant and or in our rooms was well presented, warm and delicious. All in all a fantastic escape from reality to get some quality R&R. …
