We stayed at this beautiful place for 2 nights. Me and my hubster were looking for a place to get relaxed after a long hectic period of working from home and this was indeed one of the bestest choices we have ever made so far. We fell in love with the property from the very first look. The soothing environment including the unique welcome ceremony made this experience an unforgettable one. The property is extremely environment-friendly and the electric buggy cart service they have introduced within the premises is amazing. (use the least end back seat if you need to get a thrilling experience :D). The villa was spacious with a fabulous bedroom, cozy living area and a large washroom. The private pool was simply amazing and that’s the best shot for a peaceful evening to relax both your mind and body. If you are good at riding bikes, this place is just made for you as they provide free bicycles to explore the hotel premises. In that case I preferred walking and enjoyed the tranquil beauty of Uga to the fullest. You have the option to visit the tank as well and pathway will lead you to the village itself. One thing I admired here is the tremendous staff that gives the ultimate value to the property and its culture. They all are well-mannered and do not hesitate to assist us in anything. Specially the young lad who served us meals at the restaurant, Lahiru. He was very polite, attentive and provided a great service leaving us the space we needed. Moreover, hats off to each and every staff member at Uga who helped us to experience a great stay. For one last time I should admit that we experienced the best room service ever. They did not fail us to offer a fresh villa specially after dinner, with all new towels, bed covers, pool towels etc. to be exact everything was arranged neatly. And thank you for the small choco treat which was splendid :D When it comes to food, it was beyond expectations. We tried almost all the items in the International menu. Meals were nicely served and the look itself was mouthwatering. They boosted the taste buds to a next level. All in all I highly recommend this hotel for anyone out there who is looking for peaceful vacay. Hoping to explore more Uga destinations. We highly appreciate the effort you took to make this stay a memorable one. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

We stayed two nights with small children. They provide an excellent service. They have a good choice of food. Separate menu for kids is quite useful. Villas are fully equipped and well maintained. You can enjoy nature, the way you want. It is designed in a unique way allowing guests to enjoy the nature. There are enough activities for the guests including swimming, cycling, kayaking, archery etc.

Firstly this review is by a person who has a little background in hospitality industry in all levels and departments. It’s an amazing hotel located close to the city of Anuradhapura, the only 5 start property close to the city I would say with lots of activities for the entire family. We stayed on two different dates in two different Villas, the standard villa was well spaced, lush interior, comfortable bed, lovely private pool with a good bathroom The Deluxe villa is a whole different ball game (recommended booking) beyond plenty of space for a family or couple, tremendous bathroom (no water issues here) excellent private plunge pool with all the required amenities. Arrival, both times we were greeted well from the gate security to lobby staff, check in was fast, the traditional welcome story of Mr Panaboke was a time travel. The main Walauwa (Mansion) is exceptionally designed, great public pool, well stocked bar area with an underground wine cellar, plus the dining area upstairs. The whole property is full of nature and life (expect to see plenty of monkeys, birds, reptiles (safe kind) peacocks, bulls (tied) etc with golf buggies to take you back and forth to your private villa or bicycles allocated to each villa. Activities - plenty for the whole fam, we tried horse riding, kayaking and archery (in-house Naturalist will guide you through it) well knowledgeable and experienced. Food and Bev - Breakfast menu is great, mix of western and eastern (well balanced) loved the monkeys trying to grab bread off the table (enjoy the experience) Staff - Warm, Friendly and Eager to help, on both occasions every staff member from check in to check out we came across was really good except one staff member. Seshaya, was exceptional, we only met her during one of our two stays, she probably did the work load of 4-5 staff members ( Greeting story , checking in, concierge, buggy rider back and forth on numerous times, check out, reservations, morning breakfast) well experienced in management of guests and property knowledge plus general information, so much so I though she was the Resident Manager, she is not but would love to see how a UGA or any other property would flourish in service under her leadership. Overall it’s a great property, will I stay there or recommend it to anyone? YES!

Ulagalla is the most wonderful property we have stayed so far in SL and we had a super amazing time there which is truly remarkable.. The location of the resort is magnificent, and the architectural style villas are beautifully designed, extremely comfortable, and completely private. Enjoyed our time together in the plunge pool day and night :) This property has been maintained by the team very well even during the pandemic situation. That has to be admired! The food was delicious and served in a thoughtful manner. They have their homemade ice creams which taste really good and should definitely try during your meals. They taste damn so good! Ulagalla management has provided many activities at the property and among them we seriously enjoyed the complimentary horse riding, which was stupendous. Special thanks to Ramsy, who assisted us during the horse riding. They do have provided bicycles in each villas so that you can have your own bike ride around the property and enjoy the peaceful environment while engaged in bird watching, and site seen. The staff were simply wonderful, very friendly, very flexible and very helpful. We were warmly welcomed by the team and they are super attentive. I have requested them to assigned a villa which secure the privacy at its best and as I have requested, the villa we had been given was completely private. They were simply able to accommodate all our special requirements and we are really grateful for that. Special thanks to all the team members at Ulagalla but should specially mentioned Tharaka, who assisted us during our stay at Ulagalla and Seshaya and Dilrukshi for accommodating our special requests at their best. Hats off to your hospitality and thanks once again for making our stay at Ulagalla so wonderful and remarkable!
