The rooms - or chalets or bungalows or whatever you want to call them - are breathtaking. Huge suites nestled in the jungle, with enormous living rooms, cozy bedroom, beautiful bathrooms and lovely decks with plunge pools. Everything was exquisite. A/C worked great, plenty of plugs, light in the bathroom, etc. Only quibble is that as the plunge pools are...

Uga Ulagalla, is a great place to unwind. If I did it again I'd fly from Colombo to Anuradhapura, and drive from there to Uga Ulagalla, if you arrive in the morning you could visit the ruins of the old city then head to the hotel. Beyond that, in my opinion the only visit's really not to be missed are...

we really loved staying here. we were here for almost a week and absolutely loved it. waking up with the monkeys playing outside the bedroom window, birds dipping in our own, private pool, peacocks wandering around in the fields, the food and service in the restaurant was tremendous. the guys are incredible friendly, chatty and helpful. we especially enjoyed talking...

Absolutely amazing hotel, best Sri Lankan food! The hotel has absolutely everything you can possibly need, fantastic swimming pool, personal plunge pool, bikes to ride around the property. And you can't miss the peacocks!!

We spent two nights here in December and cherished every minute of it. 20 private villas set over a huge land - totally private and romantic. The service was impeccable and consistent. We really enjoyed the bike rides around the water tanks and watching peacocks around the villa. Each villa has its own plunge/jacuzzi pool and wasn't that appealing. Food...

I really agree with most comments in the previous review. From the moment you arrive you feel like you are in a very special place. The General Manager is there to greet you (which in our experience doesn't happen much any more) and is never far from the Front Desk). Ullagalla feels more like a Country House and less like...

We stayed two nights here at the beginning of December, and it was everything we expected and more. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and very well maintained. We saw monkeys, lizards, a tree frog and a water monitor. The villas are huge, with a separate living room and enormous bathroom, and of course a private plunge pool. However the best...

We stayed here one night which was definitely not long enough as we didn't have time to tey all thw different resort activities. From the friendly greeting on arrival, to the amazing rooms and tasty food, everything was perfect. The resort is secluded so it's very quiet. The grounds of the hotel are huge and pretty. We never noticed the...

We went here for my honeymoon and it was one of the greatest hotels I have ever been to. Located near Anuradhapura (around half and hour away), the entire premises is built beyond our expectations. Built around an old mansion, the hotel dinning area and lounge gives a warm relax feeling. The massive pool in front of the main building...

The Uga Ulagalla is a gorgeous hotel with large comfortable rooms, your own small pool as well as a large lovely pool for all by the main area. The food was excellent. We found the welcome a bit over the top and fussy for our taste. The rooms did not seem to have a kettle only a coffee machine which...
