We spent three nights at Uga Ulagalla. The resort is immaculate, and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed ringing the bells on arrival , along with our beautiful pool villa. My wife uses a wheelchair and we found the site very accessible. We had to have our dinner downstairs, but this was lovely. We loved the food and enjoyed breakfast and the Sri Lankan rice and curry. We will certainly plan to come back.

From the moment you arrive and ring the bells to the moment you sadly leave and wish you had another night this property is a slice of heaven. The staff make you feel like family and warmly engage suggesting local treats to try and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The villas are beautifully appointed, comfortable and a wonderful place to relax complete with your own pool (and likely peacock) , the buggies and bikes to get around the property are easily accessible. A few hours in the spa is a must do, tucked away again you’ll feel like you’re in a different place a million miles away, an unexpected treat. Other guests come annually and you can absolutely see why, Will leave today wishing we had just a few more days in this slice of paradise.

4 days in HEAVEN at this unique place where you are especially warm welcomed with old rituals ringing bells reminding of the former owner! The layout of pool, mainhouse and the luxurious chalets widely spread over the property is just splendid! The staff is very friendly, charming always with a lovely smile ! All facilities are spotlessly clean. They provide great variety of very tasty local dishes and also internation food! We do highly recommend this fantastic Hotel! Thomas amd family

Sadly we only stayed one night in a truly luxurious resort hotel, whilst on a 11 day tour. Spa great, food excellent, surroundings lovely, and we are tempted to return if the cost isn't too high! The rooms are local in feel and very large and private. A great place to "finish that novel", if you need to completely unwind. The only fault was that the bike provided wasn't very well maintained.

What a place! From the warm welcome and the bell ringing ceremony we knew this was going to be special and it didn’t disappoint! Our villa was huge and beautifully appointed. Two bikes were available to get around the site (or reception would send a buggy for you). Peacocks, monitor lizards, monkeys wander around (one female macaque likes to steal a bagel from your basket at breakfast!). Food choice and quality is great and the main restaurant is a nice place to eat. We also ate at the Kamante restaurant for the 32 dish extravaganza. That was such a treat. Manil, Diluka and Manich served us perfectly and the dishes cooked by Manil were fantastic. Definitely not to be missed. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely recommend this beautiful hotel.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this beautiful property. The service provided by the staff and managers was exceptional throughout my stay. I must give special recognition to Shiraz, the restaurant manager, and front of house manager, Dilrukshi, provided exceptional care and attention during my stay. They went out of their way to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect, and I am incredibly grateful for their efforts. Overall, my time at this hotel was amazing, thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by Shiraz, Dilrukshi, and the entire team. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The 'room' (more of a villa really) was stunning and huge, the private pool was beautiful (and cool!), the restaurant was amazing, breakfast was incredible, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Loved having the bikes to ride around the fabulous surroundings. We did a cookery experience (cooked so much food, we had to save it for next days lunch), and a safari to Wilpattu National park (didn't see any leopards, but plenty of other wildlife). Cannot fault it.

My favorite hotel in all of Sri Lanka. We’ve stayed here several times now and it’s always wonderful. The rooms are amazing the property is beautiful and they’ve set a standard in Sri Lanka that other hotels have tried to emulate. The front office manager Dilrukshi deserves a special shout out. She is extremely warm, welcoming and very professional. All of the staff at Ulagalla are wonderful really. Can’t wait to visit again!

The published reviews tell the story of how lovely this place is and I would add that the staff make it so. Yes the resort is beautiful and luxurious but the staff are just so helpful and pleasant. I would add a special shout out to Ramesh who looks after the horses. He took me out for a ride in the lake, a new experience and as I was not a rider made it a really lovely, unforgettable trip, a happier and helpful man would be hard to find! If you are lucky enough to go here please book a ride, it will be a great trip. Lastly the spa is delightful and I would recommend the body wrap and massages. The 2 therapists are kind and professional. Enjoy this special resort

This is the most chilled, relaxing and very beautifully designed property. Spaciously set out with wonderfully comfortable large villas with personal plunge pools. Large balconies nestled in amongst large trees in the wilderness. Very secluded. Buggies are there for easy access to the villas from the main building and for other recreational places. Buggy driver Kusal was very helpful and excellent customer service with great etiquette. Food was excellent and the staff is very friendly. Catered for dietary requirements. Chef made special bread without wheat and diary free desserts specifically for me. Staff is always willing to help with any questions related to attractions around the property. Without a doubt I will consider Uga Ulagalla again.
