Palolem Beach, which is well known as 'Paradise Beach', is the uncrowned queen of Goa's beaches. About a mile long, this incredibly beautiful crescent cove is fringed by a shady rim of coconut palms and the whole beach is hemmed in at either end by rocky crags. Although this beach used to be known as idyllic and peaceful, it is getting livelier every year than its northern counterpart -- the Baga Beach. Palolem is a happening place with regular parties, music and what have you. We provides beautiful accommodation for all types of traveler with prices varying throughout the season.

We stayed here as a stop gap measure, between our arrival in goa till we checked in to the Lalit hotel. It was simply delightful. We were in for a great surprise. The side of the room was enormous, with a neat balcony overlooking the road and all the shops. We loved the toilet with a small bathtub. There were expensive Jaguar toilet fittings and very well decorated walls and beds. The room was very appealing and very homely. The air-conditioned was very strong and effective and kept us cool through the night. There are several options nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some very great eating places nearby. For the price we paid, this was simply a steal! I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wishes to have a nice holiday in Goa.

Hi, Great location, we stayed here Jan/Feb 2019 and the hut was fine, but we booked a sea view, and we did have that, but it was across the bar, so not ideal ... great staff and such a lovely beach, but what spoilt this place for us was the late drinking and playing pool in the bar and that our hut was right next to the bar so we were kept awake late on 3 nights, 2am first 2 nights, then 4am third night!! When we went out and asked them to shut the bar at 2am and then 4am we were told they wouldn't as they had paying quests there .. and my partner was threatened by a very drunk quest and the barman did nothing ... so we complained the next day and asked for our money back and moved along the beach . We got our money back no problem, the day staff were apologetic , but I would say this place is not for you if you want to sleep as many huts are grouped around the bar ...

The management & owner’s will not be surprised to read my review, based on my experiences at Round Cube. Having witnessed my friend be the victim of a very serious police incident whilst staying at Round Cube, where her safety was seriously threatened and she was left feeling very frightened, violated and unsafe, the owners disgustingly showed zero concern for her welfare and/or feelings, but instead focussed purely on getting her away from the police station as quickly as possible and assertively persuaded her not to report it for the crime that it was, so as to avoid Round Cube (and/or any of the staff) becoming involved in a long & complicated police investigation. Obviously this would’ve been extremely ‘bad for business’ and something they were all keen to avoid at all costs, regardless of the seriousness of the incident and the possibility that it was also very likely caused by one of their own staff (a belief of the police as the CCTV cameras had also been purposely switched off, which could’ve only been done by a member of staff, in a measure not to be caught). In addition to this, and with reference to the actual bungalows and the Round Cube resort itself, we were also left very dissatisfied as my friend and I had specifically booked and paid for bungalows with air conditioning for ‘sleeping reasons’, (and had this confirmed in our booking receipt) but when we arrived, we were told this was not possible and there were none available with AC. My friend was actually moved in the end, for 7 out of her 9 days, after the incident, (to a ‘less standard bungalow’) but one with AC, however I wasn’t, nor was I offered any compensation or an apology for this. This was also the case for other guests we met staying at the resort who also experienced the same. With regards to the actual bungalows themselves, they vary enormously in standards & conditions. The ‘older’ ones (which I’m guessing would probably make up well over half of them) are very very basic and no more than 1-2 star, but most do have AC! However, the new bungalows, which I have to say are actually very nice (a wooden hut look and feel inside) and with decent bathrooms, are lovely, but only have fans (no AC) and unfortunately, are like greenhouses and as a result, unbearably hot - all the fan does is blow hot air around the room. Additionally, out of the 9 days that we stayed there, our rooms weren’t cleaned once, nor were our sheets or towels changed or bins emptied. At home, I appreciate this is no major issue and also a practice many hotels now encourage for environmental purposes (which I would very much agree with & actively follow) however, when you’re living on the beach and everything is constantly covered in sand and you can’t flush toilet paper down the toilet, it’s a very different matter! On a positive though, it’s in an ideal location being right on the beach, which is stunning in itself and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, all aspects considered, I could not recommend Round Cube at all and I very much hope that all who read this can understand and appreciate why my score ranking is so low, something I’ve never done before. In fact, I’ve only ever given 5 star reviews and am definitely not ‘regular moaner’!
