Enoch, Anna and the team make a fabulous stay at this rustic campsite. The Tusker suites are from rustic, but the raw energy of this well located campsite cannot be beaten. Highly recommended for families, hiking as good as the snorkelling.

We camped at Utshwayelo, Kosi Mouth Lodge & Camp for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It has an excellent location close to the Kosi Mouth, and was clean and very well run. The management and staff are very proud of their establishment. We will definitely be back. Rudu du Plessis

We camped over the long weekend with a group of friends. Most of the campsites are very large and spacious (not all are equal to be sure to get info before booking - some even have ensuites). The ablutions were always clean and novel with the open roof for starlight gazing whilst showering! The campsite is surrounded by natural beauty with the lakes and the beach. We unfortunately stayed during a rather unseasonably cold & windy snap so sadly weren't able to enjoy the water sports to their full potential despite our best attempts! We all agreed that the campsite must be amazing in the warm sunny weather with the lovely pool and bar area. I'd suggest having a 4x4 or access to transport as the road to the mouth is in a very bad state although is being worked on, Plus it could be fun to bring along passports for a day trip to Ponta as it is basically a stones throw away. Thumbs up for the boat trip, it was well worth it. Thanks so much Mike & Co.

Great campsites, good setting, and an epic beach just down the road in the Kosi Mouth Reserve. Fishing was great and I am pleased to report still a decent amount of marine life in this area. Hosts at Utshwayelo were friendly and helpful and there is a very relaxed vibe at the lodge which adds to the great experience. Facilities were all good and were kept clean all of the time.

We stayed in a Tusker tent as a family of four. The general area is simply stunning. The camp/lodge offer local guides to show you around the incredible area, it’s a must. The camp sites looked great. We were on a slack-packing hike so they also provided food, which was of a good quality (albeit mostly stew-based traditional SA food when seafood wouldn’t probably work better). The lodge was very clean and the local people incredibly friendly and helpful, we felt super safe and never locked anything. The staff was friendly and efficient, though the manager Enoch was a bit aloof and didn’t go out of his way to help. We hired a local birding guide Ricky (not part of the lodge) and he was absolutely superb.

The location is so close to the amazing Kosi Mouth. We chose the Glamping option expecting it to be like other Glamping places we have been. It is not and is rustic. But is worth the money just to see the natural beauty of this area. Prepare for communal kitchen, basic facilities and a standard camp site. You need a 4x4 for sure to get there and to get to beach.

Thank you for the review, we would love to improve wherever we can. Please email us suggestions. We assume you stayed in a Turtle Tent and not in the luxury Tusker Tent? We look forward to hearing from you.

It was a most unforgettable experience. From the reception to the accomodation and all facilities, all of it at very high standard. I would reconmend it to everybody considering the area for a break away. The snorkeling at the "Aquarium" was wonderful, out of this world. The chalet was a nice alternative, nothing else needed.

5 stars all around. Fantastic staff, great accommodation and facilities, and a very accommodating manager. The resort is also ideally located in a safe and beautiful environment right by the entrance to the Kosi Bay mouth. Will definitely visit again soon!

I really wanted to give 4 stars, because our stay started great in one of the large turtle tents. The tent is very comfortable with private kitchen and bathroom. Also very clean. Well done and worth the money. Until a very loud family of 5 (in a 2-sleeper!) checked into our neighboring tent and spoiled our peace with their loud music and yelling, all the time. After the staff asked them to turn the music down they turned it back on immediately after the staff member left. Not ok. I understand that during holiday season and over the weekend it becomes more hectic in the camp (like on the campsites and in the pool) and the camp staff doesn’t have control over everything that happens. But 5 people in a 2-sleeper that make a lot of noise beyond what’s acceptable is eventually the responsibility of the camp towards all of the other guests who pay quite some money for a tent like this. So I can’t give more than 3 stars because this impacted our stay in such a way that we didn’t enjoy it as much as we could/should have. To end with a positive note: the staff is super friendly and attentive, they even service the tents every day.
