Doesn't matter how many times I go there I'm always excited, as are the people who come me. Everyone is always blown away by everything about the lodge, the people and the natural beauty that is Kosi Bay Mouth. Had another awesome stay in February and cannot wait for the next visit in October!

We had an incredible trip to Utshwayelo. Their team is also so helpful and accommodating. We loved the concept of the communal areas as it is a wonderful way to meet other people and great to see kids making so many friends. It caters to such a wide variety of people from couples, to small families to big groups. We were a group of 6 families, some camping, some in chalets, and the beauty of the place is that you can have privacy if you want, or if you feel like company the bar and pool area is great. We also loved the beautiful beaches, always quiet and peaceful and the amount of activities in the area to explore.

The Kosi Bay estuary and ecosystem is phenomenal and this is a wonderful peaceful casual place to spend some days exploring. Appreciate the laid back atmosphere, the Turtle Tents were everything we needed and very comfortable. The tours on offer had a great local guide that gave so much context to the fish kraals. it is a long walk to the beach if you dont have a 4x4 but we enjoyed the walk and saw animals and great views along the way. great to support this community

We stayed in Hippo chalets, basically a converted wooden garden shed, the hot water wasn’t working so didn’t get to shower that evening and then in the morning there was only hot water - so hot that once again we couldn’t shower. Also despite paying full price for the room there was zero food on the premises, even though the website and pamphlet said there was a restaurant. There is only a steers take away to get something to eat - about 15 min drive away.. we felt the rooms were expensive for what was on offer. No A/C in the room.

This is the second time we have been to Utshwayelo and it really is beautiful, from the friendly staff to the accomodation. This time we stayed in the Tusker Suite Tent and it really was amazing, it gives glamping a new meaning. From comfortable beds to the biggest outdoor shower, awesome. The snorkelling is out of this world and then you can come back and cool off in the swimming pool.
