Le Lagoto Resort & Spa is located on the big island of Savai'i, Samoa, on a secluded white sand beach, fringed by coconut palms and crystal clear water. We are a boutique resort with 10 Samoan-style bungalows and a family room -- each offering the modern conveniences of a large resort in an intimate, idyllic setting. It is with good reason, and much pride, that we take the name Le Lagoto -- Samoan for 'sunsets' -- as ours are truly sensational! As we say here, 'you haven't been to Samoa unless you are in Savai'i'.

Le Lagoto Resort & Spa's comfortable rooms, boasting recent upgrades and pleasant views, are a hit among guests, although a few point out that some areas could benefit from further maintenance. The hotel's vibrant atmosphere, enriched by live entertainment and a cultural ambiance, alongside its stunning location, has captivated many travelers. While the amenities, including beach access and massage services, receive praise, opinions on bed comfort and infrastructure are mixed. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with travelers appreciating the pristine environment. However, views on value and service vary, with some guests citing issues with staff responsiveness.

This hotel in Savai'i is located 1 hour by car from Salelologo (ferry pier from Upolu). With beach front cabins that are very well located but that urgently require restoration: windows and doors that do not close properly, allowing a lot of air and humidity to enter, very worn-out furniture, accessories such as towels that would be better changed, a dilapidated solarium,... in short, many things to improve . The staff is very pleasant and professional, attending at all times. Thank you! The breakfast was quite precarious and basic, and the menu for dinner was reduced, there should be more options. The best is the staff and the location in a less crowded place where you can breathe tranquility and the incredible beach

We recently stayed here on our holiday a week ago Amazing place to stay. The rooms were very clean and very spacious with aircon and beautiful Samoan Fale style high ceiling with ocean views of the lagoon to die for. Loved the clear turquoise ocean lagoon right at your doorstep, you can see the many tropical fish swim around you or you can snorkle up close on the coral reef in the same lagoon that you can walk out to in the shallows. The food is delicious we ejoyed many bowls of fried ulu (breadfruit) local staple food. When you’re tired from all the swimming and kayaking or paddle boarding right outside your door or in the infinity pool then you can book yourself an outdoor sunset massage at the spa and catch the amazing sunsets on the island.
The staff are amazing and very friendly very accommodating. Shout out to Seti for the friendly smile and wonderful service everyday all day, to Pito for making all our stay process run smoothly and for being very informative as she was able to answer all our questions about where places were and where to go for certain things we needed, to Solo and Fankie our funny and awesome bartenders who were overworked at happy hour by our group 😂 and to the rest of the staff for their great service and to Faalua amazing masseuse who continued to massage my tired body through wind and rain.
If you are in Savaii i highly recommend Le LaGoto as your place of stay you will not be disappointed. Plenty to do for everyone you don’t even need to leave.

I just went to bettys moors motel super simple simple no extras 20 samoa tala or samoa dollar so. About 0.90 of the euro. In the center of the city I filmed everything, author Robert Louis Stevenson's house, waterfalls, white sand, I stayed there for 21 days and another 21 days in the area of Matautou, a queue on the other side of the island of Upulo, the biggest one, the other is Savai, I didn't go. I saw the place of the fire they offered me manners and customs I ate chmefna which they made by digging a hole in the sand they put big banana leaves inside. The round myrna and other banana leaves inside it was built with soil and on top of it, after 3 hours I ate a Turkish delight. I took a dip and swam. I fell in love calmed down with Singapore Air to Singapore 15 hours after 7 hours. And free trip in the waiting time at the airport free trip in Singapore by coach boat and on foot 3 hours free with food and water. Then again with Singapore. 14 hours via Auckland New Zealand I stayed there 3 days for the Greeks 5 months visa free. 3 star hotel near the airport with hotel transfer breakfast only bed tv toilet simple things in fridge. With every day 30 Australian dollars. I mean. 86 E for three days. All about New Zealand. So and so for three days. After a 5 hour night journey by Air New Zealand I arrived there at 5 in the morning. Bus 30 samoan tala. Everything is OK. Everything very ok. Ticket price 2470 euros in a simple airplane seat. Samoa is something else after honor and appreciation for everyone I met and treated me thank you.

The Lagoto is a little (or a lot) aging, with too many things that are no longer completely functional (windows whose panes are stuck in the open position, neon lighting that is far too weak (!), capricious hot water (quickly repaired) , contemporary furniture from my grandmother, curtains probably never washed.)
On the other hand, the location is very beautiful, on the edge of a lagoon, and the exteriors are just as beautiful.
For cleaning, don't look for the little creature because you will find it very easily. In the restaurant, the tablecloths are shaken randomly, it's a shame to find ants eating some relief from the day before when you arrive at breakfast. Ditto the crumbs on the seats. However, it is basic and quick to do.
The staff is very friendly.
It was presented to us as the best hotel in Savaii.

Main bed hard as a rock

Food options were extremely limited.

An entire menu was limited down to only two options for breakfast.

Advised via phone and email prior to arriving regarding food allergies.

Buffet night, we were advised by main receptionist one of us could have an individual meal due to allergies.

No options edible for them off the buffet.

$75 Tala per person.
Two of the food options were not edible for us.
One being raw fish.

Upon arriving for dinner, the lady ushering us in advised the individual plate was not an option at all. Her tone and mannerism was really quite rude.

After explaining clearly the pre arranged option, she then stated she would have to ask the chef if they would do that.

Thank you chef. Whom did allow one of our party to eat that night.

Felt like we were in a prison camp with limited food and drinks and grumpy personalities.

This resort was better than the other one on Upolo though.

Wouldn’t recommend, if you don’t like putting your hand in your pocket unnecessarily, very regularly.

Sorry Samoa, you have let us down.

We stayed in Oceanfront Unit 2 near the pool for 3 nights with a lovely ocean view and front deck with banana beds but limited shade. The on site meals and drinks here are fabulous!.. Seti is a wonderful well mannered gentleman who has worked here long term - he is a real gem to this establishment. Parking here is limited but there is an overflow parking lot across the road. Be sure to take a short walk to the post office to buy postcards and stamps.

First time our family visited and stayed in the resort and we were welcomed with a wide open arms. The staff were sweet but by the time we got to our rooms we checked the water was off for the sink, shower and toilet. Our AC also wasnt working. We contacted the receptionist/staff/owner for an assistance if they could fix the water and AC straight away but it looked like they dont care as much as we do cause we paid thousands for our stay. We asked them for like the 10th time cause our family really needed to have showers cause we ride all around Savaii. So what we did we used one room where water is working and their warm pool. Customer service was very bad, we may be locals but they should treat us like they treated the Palagis we stayed at the resort. Whenever members of our family asked for this and that but they always gave us that “dont want to serve you” looks cause we dressed up not nice and we are locals. Expectations were high for the resort cause we saw some good reviews about their service and everything but with our family no it is a different story. Meal prices was such a rip off.
Do not recommend this place for a stay when visiting the beautiful big island.

The receptionist checked us in with a smile. Our Oceanview villa was fantastic. It was the closest one to the bar…so ideal! Carpark was right next to it so it wasn’t far to offload our stuff. It was one back from the Waterfront villa but still had an amazing view of the ocean. Grab your drink and less than a minute your sipping Pina colada and watching the sunset! We actually preferred it because people were constantly walking along the front of the Waterfront villas to get to the beach or for their massage. Massage was amazing especially when you get to gaze out into the sunset before you nod off. Back to the villa….clean and comfortable beds for 4 people….1 Queen and 2 singles. Although, bathroom could do with a facelift.
Breakfast made fresh. Lunch and dinner was great. If we didn’t felt like anything on their menu, we just walked a minute along the beach to the other resort. Food tasty and friendly staff. Kiwi owners were very welcoming. I wish them well!
A big thank you to SETI who looked after us well! He was on his feet all day and one other staff member because they didn’t have anymore staff. Service with a smile. Downside to seasonal workers working overseas, causes staff shortages for the hospitality industry.
Would come again to this resort. Great for families.

Beautiful location. The rooms are comfortable but showing (especially the bathrooms) some age and are in need of TLC. We had a few issues during our stay and management as well as the owner were quick to reolve the problems. If you are after a boutique place to stay with crystal clear water at your front door then Le Legato will not disappoint. Make sure you ask Seti to sing and play his Ukelele for you!

What a stunning place to stay. The people were my highlight before I even start to capture the natural beauty. Staff were so friendly and accommodating that you felt like family and hard to say goodbye. We loved the smaller resort with rooms private and well serviced.
Access to white sandy beach front on an amazing lagoon for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and just watching was awesome. Tours available and lots of attractions within close access on the resort. Turtle sanctuary 5 mins away is a must do to feed and snorkel with these incredible creatures.
If you want to relax, then this is the place for you to unwind and recharge. Food tasty and drinks cold and yummy. No wi-fi (there are options if required) was a real bonus for us to disconnect with the world and connect with Savai'i/Samoa.
Our favourite spot.

The beachfront should really be called oceanfront as there is no beach per se directly fronting the bures. There is nice grass for sunbathing and the sunlounges, and then stairs lead down past rocks to a landing for access into the water in a small cove with sandy bottom. The main sandy beach area is in front of the restaurant, bar and pool area and has the free watercraft available. So the first row of bures on the grassy cove is the "beachfront", then the row behind (oceanview) is offset so from the patio you look between two beachfront bures to glimpse the ocean. I think the oceanfront is best if you are spending time at the resort during the daytime (and price difference is acceptable) as you have your own patio furniture if the sun lounges on the grass are already taken. As others have said you do have people roaming about with both accom types BUT it isnt really an issue in a small resort like this..

Hi we stayed at both the Sinalei and Le Lagoto and are going back next month to Le Lagoto I love it menu changes every day and the snorkling straight out from resort in the coral is amazing. Rooms are great air con and fly screens, staff are a lot friendlier and go out of their way to please you. We went disappointed with our last visit

Hi there. No, not all. you'd have bungalows adjacent to the water yes, but a 2nd set of bungalows back from the water - with no ocean view...obviously ocean views means more expensive...we were fine with no view...the entire place is so peaceful & tranquil...cheers

Talofa MamaTez, Thanks for your message -- our side of the island isn't really known for great surfing; you get a few good waves from time to time but nothing consistent and no big breaks. The best surfing is on the South Coast of Savaii -- I'd suggest getting in contact with Aganoa Surf Lodge Samoa (part of the Pegasus Surf Lodge group), and asking for their advice. Hope this is helpful! Sonya
