Where can I begin? This was my friends and I first time in Tulum and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! After arriving from the Cancun airport with the driver Cabanas Hotel set up for us, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the most amazing Alejandria. She went above and beyond during our stay to make sure we were taken care of and all of our needs were attended to. She sets the bar across the world for concierges as we have never connected with someone as much as her. She was personable, kind, and attentive. Once we checked into our rooms since I had mentioned we were celebrating my birthday, my room was decorated with a beautiful cake made out of towels and flowers, They also gave us champagne for the occasion! You can stay connected with the front desk via WhatsApp and within minutes they will reply to you. I usually stay at bigger hotels or resorts but this beautiful boutique hotel has convinced me how special smaller hotels can be. Breakfast is complimentary at either restaurant, Ziggy's or Fresco's and the food is fresh and delicious! The entire staff knows your name and we even became friends with a few. Felipe is an amazing staff member at Cabanas and he was always on top of food and drink orders. Pedro from Fresco's restaurant was also so kind. We never wanted to leave such a paradise with the hotel's private beach just steps away from your room. We stayed at the swim-up and sunset rooms which were both perfect. The AC was always nice and cool, the bathroom (which has a rain shower) lead to our own personal pool tub and steps leading into the pool where we tanned and swam. Every morning after breakfast we would come back to our rooms all sparkly and clean with fresh sheets and towels. The spa in the hotel is an experience itself, we had two massages and the massage therapists were well experienced. I received one of the best massages of my life! They also provide complimentary steam and sauna rooms that you can go into at any time. The location of this hotel is PRIME as it is near all the best clubs and restaurants that Tulum is known for such as Chamboa, Taboo, and Tantra. Security is also on top of making sure you are safe and no outside people enter the hotel, making it a very safe and intimate place. They provide complimentary bikes to ride around town and there is a Qmart nearby. I could go on and on about Cabanas Hotel in Tulum but long story short, if you are looking for the true Tulum experience and connecting with amazing new people, this is the place for you. We cannot wait to come back as all five of us have agreed that this was the best tropical trip of our lives. Thank you Cabanas for making my 23rd birthday so special.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Centrally located on the beach, everything is within walking or biking distance. Yet in the middle of everything, it is quiet and serene. You would never know how much is going on outside the hotel because it is so peaceful. The room was perfect. Spotless, airy, everything you need. If you stay on the beach side, a ridiculous view of the ocean, which is steps from your door. There's the most beautiful breeze in the room with window/door open. Private patios each have crystal clear plunge pools that are the perfect temperature. Immaculately maintained grounds - everything is beautiful. Property layout allows for complete convenience to all of the amenities, but you can always find a quiet spot. Plenty of loungers in the sun or the shade on the beach or by the pool. Plenty of room for everyone. Main pool is beautiful, refreshing, and pristine. Fresco's and Ziggy's have delicious food and drinks with vegetarian and vegan options. Cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks are fresh and delicious. Beautiful, breezy yoga palapa with a rotation of experienced teachers every morning. Most importantly, the staff! Cabanas feels like being invited into someone's home. The staff is warm, friendly, helpful and accommodating, but not at all pushy or overbearing. I genuinely missed them when I left. It's not often that I'm not ready to go home after a vacation, but I was genuinely sad to leave. This place is truly special, and I can't wait to go back.

Even before we arrived, the Cabanas staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We arrived to have a bottle of champagne in our room which was such a sweet touch! We spent 7 days here and most certainly did not want to leave. The little extra $ for the beach front plunge pool is definitely worth it -- it gets very hot here and being able to pop right into the private pool is great. The part we loved most about this hotel is how secluded it felt. We spent a lot of time walking up and down the beach and noticed Cabanas was the only hotel that kept the palm trees and shrubs in the beach area. This made it feel more secluded and private so people weren't staring at you out in the open. The care and attention by the Cabanas staff was outstanding. We loved going to Ziggy's every morning for breakfast and got it delivered to our room one morning to enjoy at the pool. Cabanas absolutely made our trip fantastic. We will be back!

Tucked deep in the most beautiful part of Tulum, situated on a white, sandy beach and shaded with lots of plants and trees, this hotel is understated, unassuming, and undeniably beautiful. Everything down to the wooden towel hooks on the walls have been carefully thought out. I came here on a solo trip to rest and recover from a surgery, and it was perfectly quiet and not touristy at all. Everyone in the staff remembered my name and greeted me in passing. They were helpful and accommodating with everything- at one point I sent a WhatsApp message from the beach asking for water- and within 5 mins a waiter delivered it bedside with two cups of ice. My mornings were spent on my private rooftop watching the sunrise with my coffee- in complete peace and quiet. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to heal, mentally, and physically. I will be back!

I stayed with two other girl friends in the two bedroom with a beach front dipping pool. I recommend you add the transportation option the hotel provides. It’s convenient and the drivers were great! They offered us cold towels after getting off the plane (dressed for cooler weather) and loading up on the van. The van has free wifi and is a quick 1.5 hour drive to Tulum.
The hotel is quaint and tucked away a bit from the louder hotels. This hotel does not play loud music and is not like a club scene. It’s very relaxing and elegant. The room service was great. The always gave us plenty of water and coffee to brew in our room. The room was clean and the beds were comfy.
I highly recommend the San Actun Cenote. We had a blast exploring the cenote with our tour guide. The water is chilly but not too cold! You warm up after a few minutes. They provided us with a underwater camera/phone bag ($10) and life vests of course. It’s really wonderful!
HIGHLY recommend a little taco/burrito stand before and across the street from villa las estrellas. La Malinche was great for tacos. Ziggy’s and Fresco’s were good for breakfast in the mornings but nothing really special in terms of food. The cocktails were great though!
***Last not but least, ALEJANDRIA, at the front desk is simply exceptional!!! She’s so friendly and was amiable with all of our requests. The rest of the gals and guys were wonderful as well!***

We had an amazing vacation at one of the most romantic and exclusive beach front hotels in Mexico. The attention to detail is an experience by itself. The rooms, private pool, and common area are all kept immaculate. The restaurant, room service and concierge are all very responsive and easily accessible via whatsapp texts. The beach area is kept prestine and the ambulatory vendors are kept away. Concierge staff reserved limo service from the airport in advance, assisted in creating a memorable restaurant experienced with decorations and special menue including an award winning photographer. (My girfriend said Yes!) We cannot wait to be back.

We had the best time in Hotel Cabanas for our honeymoon! We stayed at a beachfront unit that had a private rooftop lounge and jacuzzi. From the time we entered we felt exceedingly welcomed. They even prepped our room with rose petals and complimentary champagne which was amazing (they emailed a week in advance asking us if we were celebrating anything, and I did not expect or suggest this)! Through our trip the staff were very helpful in giving us tips on where to eat and what to visit without any agenda with booking agencies or tour companies. They even helped me communicate with a local to book a very discounted boat snorkel tour with a local boatman. The staff were so helpful up to the very end with where they recommended us to buy souvenirs and what things should cost. Lastly they even helped us with our cellphone issues which took hours. Needless to say, the staff here are the most excellent I’ve ever experienced. (Gracias to the staff Tania, Antonio, and Ishmael for going above and beyond and being so kind)!!! Also, the complimentary breakfast was so delicious all the time. In addition, very abundant and healthy (each person can choose 2 entrees and 2 drinks (smoothie/fresh juice/coffees). Lastly the setting was just gorgeous. Eco chic with all of the amenities and without the fuss. If you want a true getaway that is peaceful, friendly, and luxurious, look no further (but get the rooftop room that is beachfront, worth every penny)

My husband and I were celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary. We had booked a year ago, had it canceled, rescheduled then it was canceled again. Finally, we were able to make it. We got the beach front with plunge pool and it was amazing. We used the private pool every day. Our favorite was drinking coffee every morning enjoying the beach view.
When we arrived, they had a bottle of champagne waiting in our room and decorated the bed with rose petals.
Everything was clean in the room, hotel, pool, Frescos restaurant and all the staff were super friendly.
Every day, the hotel was slick ran with people cleaning up seaweed, gardeners, housekeepers, you name it. They were very responsive to whatsapp requests and quick to reply when we asked questions.
We asked for a cooler with ice as we walked to GoMart and they brought it to our room and provided ice whenever we needed more.
The daily coffee was so good, we used both packets every day and made a full pot.
We had the main pool to ourselves, likely due to low season but it was nice.
The only negative I can say is not to the hotel but to the hotel on the beach that is actually far away but you can hear their booming music until 10pm or 11pm . It might have gone longer but we fell asleep and didn't hear it. If you keep the doors open you would hear it at night.
We unplugged for 5 days with only walking as our activity and staying pretty local to the beach area. It was nice that there wasn't a TV in the room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We slept great every night.
We used the bicycles on day 6 & 7, rode into town, rode to the ruins then rode to the reserve at the end of the Tulum beach.

We are frequent guests of Cabanas Tulum. I have to say they are a place that truly makes every guest feel right at home. They treat returning guests as great as they do first timers! This hotel is so clean, private, comfortable, and well worth every penny.
The beaches along tulums coastline can be full of seaweed and trash. We walked the entire beach and i must say cabanas tulum really goes above and beyond to maintain the cleanliness of the hotel and the beach. The sunset and sunrise is unparalleled from this location. The rooms offer true beachside views with the sound of the ocean at your bedroom door.
Each room on the lower level has their own plunge pool which no other resort in the area offers. It is quite and absolute relaxation. However if you like the party scene more , the beach clubs and bars are within feet and walking distance from the hotel. I definitely recommend renting scooters or quads to explore the Sian Kan which is right down the road from the hotel.
The breakfast included every morning includes 2 meals per person as well as a juice or smoothie and coffee or other cold/hot non-alc bev. You can use whats. app to let the staff know where and when you would like your meals and drinks to be delivered.
All the staff at Cabanas are so friendly and provide service with all smiles. The price point can be a bit high during the peak season here however, you truly get what you pay for.

Words cannot express how amazing Cabanas Tulum is (and I'm a super picky traveler)! :) Everything was so perfect. The rooms are great, the bed is SO comfy, the shower and bathroom is huge! We had a plunge pool and I honestly felt like I was in heaven with our view; the beach is so clean, clear and beautiful! The restaurants are incredible, breakfast was better than I've had in LA! The cocktails are delicious, everything is fresh squeezed (no sugary nasty mixes). To top it off, the staff is friendly and accomodating. You can ask them for anything (via whatsapp) and they'll make it happen (drinks, food, taxi, reservations, etc). We will 100% be back!

Not sure of renovation dates, but we were very happy with the condition of our room, the grounds, the beach area and pool when we stayed there in April this year (2024). Staff were outstanding; absolutely loved the hotel. Hope this helps!

You'll need to catch a taxi, or rent a car/moped to get from the hotel into Tulum town. Cycling is far too hot. Taxis are very expensive - we were quoted 600-800 mxn each way. We thought it was worth staying on the beach any way; the taxi was less than it'd cost us to get in to a beach club - and this hotel's beach area is sooo lovely!
