We stayed for a week at La Zebra in a beachfront room with a private pool, and it was absolutely beautiful! The room was gorgeous, light and airy, with excellent attention to detail from the staff who comes daily to refresh the room perfectly and leave fresh filtered water and a treat every evening. Relaxing in the warm pool/hot tub in the evening to watch the sunset with a glass of wine was divine, and it let the kids get their last energy out before a very restful sleep. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there were plenty of outlets, great sink area counter space, a mini fridge for drinks, and plenty of storage space for clothing and suitcases. We were steps from the playground so the kids could climb and swing and make new friends easily.

We felt so welcomed by the wonderful staff here all week - Carlos on the beachfront and in the restaurant, German and Rogelio in the restaurant, Jairo in the restaurant and at a wine tasting class, Esteban the concierge who helped arrange many elements of our stay in advance, Chef Jacob for a Tortilla and salsa class, and Chef Bonilla at the Chef's table dinner, among many others.

The beachfront cabana beds were plentiful and comfy, and I enjoyed having plenty of shade. The beach is kept meticulously clean. My kids felt so comfortable here and enjoyed going back and forth between the playground and the waves. There were some beach toys on site as well for all kid shoveling needs. We also got to switch things up and go into the beautiful serene pink pool upstairs which we had to ourselves most times we visited.

The restaurant was fantastic, and we enjoyed many special activities here - Chef's Table dinner which was outstanding with so many fine details and flavors and incredible drink pairings, wine tasting class upstairs in the beautiful Frida lounge with 4 lovely full glasses of wine and a gorgeous cheese plate, and a tortilla and salsa making class which ended with a huge tray of delicious tacos to enjoy with the tons of salsas that we just made. I would do all of these activities again.

I definitely recommend contacting the concierge in advance who helped us arrange comfortable private transport to and from the airport, all of the activities at the hotel above, and one of our favorite tours off site with an excellent guide at BTM (separate company) to Akumal and a cenote.

La Zebra is truly family friendly which seemed very much not to be the case for many of the luxury hotels in the area. There were many families staying there with kids ranging from babies to teens, and we also saw lots of adults only groups having fun on the beach or at the big dinners with live music. It was so much less stressful to feel like the kids were invited and encouraged to play. Also, having a playground and giant swing between the trees is a great idea steps from the restaurant so they can be excused while the parents get to enjoy the rest of the meal.

This is one of my top best and most memorable vacation ever!
from the very first moment of arrival we felt the warmth of everyone at la zebra.
the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable, my husband and I slept like rocks. Only suggestion I have is that a hotel like this should have robes for the room. Every morning our room was put back together and in the evening they did turn down and left tea and chocolates with flowers.
La zebra has entertainment but not that blaring annoying music all day that most resorts have, no one is chasing you around to get you to play pool games or volleyball or any of those things and yet all the staff is there to ask if you need anything with a simple gesture.
The beach beds are comfortable, I loved just relaxing and dipping in the ocean without a care in the world. La zebra keeps the beach clean, constantly raking the sargassum all day, drinks are very good, I got hooked on sour mezcal!
La zebra is perfect for families as well and I’d love to come back and bring my two kids.
Everything at la zebra is well curated and fits in within the tulum vibe, they have security at the entrance of hotel and in the beach area, we felt safe all the time.
La zebra has the chefs table dinner and if you’re thinking about it DO IT!!book it as soon as you get there, you will not be disappointed, it was an extremely amazing culinary experience, the chefs and the whole team are very passionate on what they do! Thank you Chefs, you all made our dinner celebration that much more special!
We want to thank Beto at the beach bar as well as all the staff in the restaurant and bar. Isaias is a rockstar in concierge and I forgot the other guy who is there as well, they’re so helpful and friendly.
I could go on about our vacation but really it’s a perfect location, amazing hotel and amazing service, i’m still dreaming about it!

This boutique hotel was fantastic in every way. We were a family of two parents and two teenagers and went there right after Christmas 2023 through New Year's Day 2024. The staff at this hotel makes it so special. Every single person is there to ensure you have the best vacation ever! The front desk is incredibly helpful, especially Esteben and Laura and the lovely French woman (sorry cannot recall her name). They are happy to set you up with taxis, excursions, reservations, etc.

We stayed in a suite on the beach that had a wonderful deck and plunge pool. It was heaven to walk onto the deck and relax and share breakfast or a drink. One morning we wanted a quick coffee before heading to a cenote excursion and the front desk offered to bring us a basket with coffee and cookies before we left and then did it every day thereafter.

The restaurant is amazing and the service there also outstanding. Jairo hooked us up with drinks, dinner the first night, the great Thursday night taco night on my birthday (phenomenal tacos), etc. He even remembered my family members' names each time we saw him. Abraham was so helpful and pleasant at breakfast and helped my son with his Spanish! The breakfast was delicious.

While we were there, there were families with small children, groups of friends, and families like us with older kids.

The music they play in the hotel (and that you can hear from your room), is mellow in the late morning, starts to get loud and club-like early afternoon, but then softens again late afternoon. The restaurant stops playing loud music at a very reasonable time so that you can sleep (except New Year's Eve, when they had a fabulous band that played just past midnight).

The housekeeping was very attentive and were there quickly with anything we needed. They leave cute things in the room for you to use, like a beach bag and little cover ups.

When you have a suite on the beach, they also reserve for you your own little tent with two chairs on the beach. It was really nice not to have to rush to the beach each day to grab a seat. There is a pool on the second floor, but like most Tulum hotels, it is very small and not really the focus of the place.

Taxis in Tulum are expensive, so I would suggest trying to ride the bikes that they have to some dinners. Reserve the bikes in advance.

All in all, it was a great trip and we are so happy we stayed at La Zebra.

A dream hotel by the water
Juan Carlos and Esteban at reception take care of everything down to the last detail
Feippe at breakfast of a sweetness and such attentive service
Daniel, Will, and Jairo at the beach keep your mattresses for you every morning...
A hot tub in each terrace....
You even find your beach bag , your hat and your beautiful poncho to go to the beach ....
There is nothing missing even the organic mosquito repellent is in the room ...
The the every night....
The top!!!!
Just one suggestion: this hotel should offer a real hearty and diverse breakfast at the height of a 5-star served at the table or a bufffer whatever
It is not nice to have to order each morning à la carte as for lunch or dinner ....

During our stay in Tulum, we were looking to visit the beautiful beaches, since our Airbnb was located in the city. We heard that La Zebra was a great spot, especially for families. Since we were traveling with our 2 year old, we wanted to give this beach club a try, and we were not disappointed. The only thing we weren’t aware of was that we had to spend 1300 pesos per adult on food and drinks to have access to the Beach. While it seemed expensive at first, the formula was quite affordable since we were staying the whole day there, so we were basically having breakfast, snacks and late lunch / early dinner. The food was served to us on the beach, so we didn’t have to go out to eat. We ended up loving the experience so much that we came back for a second day at the end of our trip.

What you get with La Zebra beach club access
• Warm welcome by everyone working there. The staff is awesome and special thanks to our waiter Jaime who was always looking for us to make sure we were doing well.
• High quality food and drinks. We tasted many items on the menu during the 2 days, and they were all excellent.
• Access to the beach with pristine water and seaweed on the shore are removed daily.
• Hotel is clean and the amenities are very convenient when traveling with kids: toilet, shower to rinse, changing station for kids, playground, the rooftop swimming pool, etc
• By accessing their Beach Club, you obviously have access to your private space, which is basically a covered bed on the sand. We appreciated having the extra shade (especially with a toddler).

All good things to say.
We will be back!

We had an amazing time at La Zebra during Thanksgiving week as a family of 4 with two small children. Felipe at the hotel restaurant was the perfect server and the front desk staff like Juan Carlos (I wish I could name them all!) were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Jaime was also great at the beach! This is a very family friendly hotel - our kids loved it and we were able to relax!

We loved our excursion we booked through La Zebra - truly a highlight of our trip. Our tour guide, Josh, was incredibly knowledgeable and perfect for our family. We had a private tour of tulum ruins and explored two cenotes. It’s a pricey tour but it really is private and Josh handled everything for us - our bags, taking family pictures, getting our tickets and tour guide, etc. so it was definitely worth it!

The location is right along a street with delicious restaurants - I would highly recommend venturing out for dinner.

Thanksgiving is one of their busiest weeks so keep that in mind as service (particularly the kitchen/food) was slow at times and their beach club beds were full so you had to get up early to reserve your bed.

We had a fabulous time at La Zebra. From the attentiveness while booking, to our arrival, everything was made easy and arranged perfectly. The hotel itself is an open air beachy vibe in keeping with the spirit of Tulum. Thoughtful art from local culture included. Everything is centered around the platform restaurant with the beach in front, a terrace with pool above, and all the rooms surrounding it’s central location and warm relaxing music.

We had a beachfront room with a plunge-pool we used every single day. They can keep it cool or heat it up based on your preferences. We also had our own dedicated cabana which was steps from our room. This made going to and from the beach extremely easy. The room itself was serviced twice a day with thoughtful touches like an assortment of orthopedic pillows, a beach bag, eco friendly toothpaste and toothbrushes and filtered water by every sink and at the coffee bar which had a pour over chemex and fresh ground mexican beans. We were given cocktails on arrival and mezcal and we had tea service every night. This was all included in the hotel experience. As all beachfront hotels have a charm what really sets La Zebra apart is the staff. Everyone is warm, friendly, helpful and attentive. They brought us anything we asked for anywhere we were, on the beach, on our patio overlooking the beach, in our plunge pool, it didn't matter where we were service was offered and we were checked on. The concierge arranged everything for us; transport from the hotel, massages, tours, reservations etc. The staff is incredible.

As no review is honest without some cons we found the music at times a bit loud due to proximity to the restaurant. Because of this we weren't really able to go to bed early or sleep in late as one does on vacation. However sleeping to the sounds of the ocean made up for it and the music was off by about 10:30pm. The wifi was also choppy the whole trip but again, who wants devices on vacation. Overall nothing is ever perfect but La Zebra came extemely close. Highly recommend!

This review is long overdue. We could not have been happier with our stay at La Zebra in December of 2022. Communication with the team at La Zebra was great, especially with Juan Carlos. Even when he was out, someone else would respond like Ricardo and Francisco. Leading up to our arrival, I was able to arrange a shuttle to the hotel, car rental (which I must say was quite a difficult task given the season we were going) and crib for our 1 year old. Upon our arrival, it was so nice to actually meet the people we were emailing with. They offered to store our stroller behind the front desk whenever we needed to go to our room since most of the walkways to the rooms are comprised of sand. This turned out to be very useful. I know a lot of people praise the staff at La Zebra it is well deserved. All of them were very helpful and friendly: Juan Carlos, Joss, Francisco, Ricardo and Isaias.

The room was perfect. We had an ocean view ground floor suite with plunge pool. We were worried that evenings might be loud because the hotel restaurant/bar was within walking distance of our deck but every evening was very relaxing and quiet during our stay. It was nice to grab a drink at the bar to take back to our deck after an entire day of site-seeing; the sound of the ocean had a very calming effect. The bathroom was nice as well. We were able to bathe our 16 month old son who loved walking back and forth between the two rain showers. The main room was nice and spacious enough for our son to walk around and scatter all his toys and the curtains kept the room nice and dark for him to take his naps. We loved how they provided enough water for drinking and brushing your teeth. We also found the hotel's location to be excellent. It was not too far from great restaurants but we also felt it was far enough from nightclubs since we didn't hear any loud music at night. Maybe that was because of our room location but like I said, every night during our stay was quiet and relaxing.

The food at the restaurant was very good with our favorite dish being the al pastor fish tacos. The workers there were very helpful and patient since our son had many tantrums during mealtimes. We apologized for the mess our son would leave at the end of each meal but were always told not to worry about it.

We stayed at La Zebra for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. We would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about staying in Tulum and are looking forward to our return visit.

We visited the beach club and it was a wonderful time. Very family friendly with amazing food and drinks! Our server was Marco and he provided exceptional service!

We got there early, around 930-10, as they don't take reservations for the beach club, it is first-come, first-serve. Their beach service starts at 10am, beach food menu starts at noon! There was free parking available for our rental car. Make sure to bring your own towels if you are not a hotel guest.

As a side note, my husband eats gluten free and had no problem ordering off the breakfast or beach menu! Also, there is a small children's area, clean bathrooms, and an outdoor shower.

Nestled in the idyllic setting of Tulum Beach, our stay at this hotel was a tropical paradise. The hotel's prime beachside location offered us easy access to the azure waters and was conveniently situated right next to some of the best restaurants in the area. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families (more family vs party) and relaxation-seekers alike. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable, and the culinary delights, particularly the mouthwatering tacos, were just delicious. Overall, this hotel is a haven of tranquility and hospitality in the heart of Tulum.

Hi, I used a company called Mayaland in Cancun - outside from the hotel. Its good to compare prices. They were very good. I paid £90.00 (UK pounds) one way to Cancun Airport. Ask for Carlos Medina. He's really helpful. Trip Advisor won't let me put their website on here. You can look it up. Hope you have a wonderful time at La Zebra. Its a beautiful place.

Ever since everything shutdown and then started reopening, seems most places have doubled/tripled. This hotel along with many others on my list/Airbnb's have skyrocketed...sucks!!
