First things first - Castlereigh Reservoir is serene and splendid. One only sees part of it from the Resort but it is well worth driving a few kilometers towards Maskeliya to get a panoramic view. Disclaimer - we didn't drive towards the other side (i.e. Norton). We (family of three adults) stayed one night each at the Suite and Chalet - thanks to some miscommunication. We were under the impression that Deluxe Chalet has two rooms but discovered on arrival that it wasn't so. Actually the website is ambiguous in describing Chalet accommodation - rewording would help! Stayed first night at the Suite (bigger than the Chalet) but the bathroom is very basic and general upkeep poor. Also, bathroom toiletries were missing. Shifted to the Chalet next day - much more modern and nice. Good sit out with view of the reservoir. The Resort itself is small and quite a few parts are unkempt - understandable in current times. There are few walking tracks which were being cleared during our stay. Not many activities - the bicycles kept for free use have seen better days. Please is ideal for those looking for solitude. We went for a couple of walks around the area - nice landscapes. Active bird life especially morning hours - managed to see White Eyes, Sun Birds, Scaly Breasted Munias (actively busy in nest making on one of the chalet roofs), Bee Eaters, Red Vented Bulbuls, White Bellied Drongos, Flowerpeckers, Paradise Flycatcher, Magpie Robins, Yellow Wagtails, and a very shy Scimitar Babbler. Highlights of the stay - personal butler services by Justin (EXCELLENT) and meals by Chef Roshan!

Besides the mesmerizing views, Madushanth and Raju really made our stay at the Farm Resorts memorable. They were extremely accommodating and were always willing to go the extra mile. The chalets were roomy and very clean, with balconies facing the spectacular Castlereigh reservoir. Highly recommend this beautiful property, and more so the staff that goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Will definitely visit again!

My daughter and I stayed in one of the Chalets superbly appointed to maximise sweeping views of the Castlereigh Lake. A lovely sit-out felt we were almost above the lake. The room was comfortable, however the shower cubicle did not seem practical as because of an open side, showering without getting the bathroom totally wet was not possible. The staff was polite, helpful and ever so accommodating. The food was excellent and fresh although I felt Rs 2,100 for a rice and curry meal was a bit expensive! The privacy, feel and gardens made for a truly memorable stay. I hope to be back
