Classic ambience, dignified atmosphere, friendly, unobtrusive staff Unique in every way - offering all & far more the standard 5 star resorts … far more elegance , style & individuality Fabulous TAJ. Thanks for continuing to offer a truly unique experience Well done
The location is just fantastic. Food was amazing followed by music. The boat ride was a refresher. Clean rooms, great service. The icing on the cake was the Swimming Pool and the Spa. Overall had a great experience.
the 4 days we had at Taj Malabar was fabulous. the staff are excellent and very helpful. the property is unique in that it has an old heritage wing and a newer tower. our Suite room had a balcony with a sit out to enjoy fresh sea breeze and the Ocean view in front of us. food was excellent .
We are disappointed with the service and the compassion of the staff. It didn't feel like we are in a 5-star hotel instead it felt like a 2-star hotel, especially after experiencing an excellent and satisfying experience in Taj Kovalam. I never expected to have such a bad experience in Taj, such a shame
We were at Taj Malabar for 4 days to ring in the 50th of a family member. The property is at an outstanding location, with a spectacular view of the backwaters. The reception was kind enough to give us an early check in, and were extremely courteous and helpful. The activities (like the boat ride and the cultural program in the evening), the food and the property were fantastic! We would specially like to thank Sunil, Alex, Kantaram, Sojan, Shreejit, Jackson, Anu - our kudos to them to bring "Tajness" alive! Looking forward to another visit. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay from the 7th to 13th September, the hotel staff were very hospitable and kind, enjoyed the buffet spread though we wished the other restaurants could have opened. The highlight of the stay was the yoga lessons conducted by Sreejith who was very professional and knowledgeable ,we had our lessons conducted in front of the beautiful view at the front of the hotel and the air was clean and fresh . Highly recommended for not only the stay but the yoga lessons as well, Thank your Taj Malabar for an unforgettable experience
I stayed three nights with my family at Taj Malabar during my two weeks’ holidays in Kerala. We were really trapped there for two days in the hotel due to VIPs visit. I could not go out or move around freely. We were observed everywhere by the officials and these people were starring at us in restaurants and even in the garden. We felt very uncomfortable as we are not used to this. Apart from that I could not feel any “tajness” or five star hotel experience in Taj Malabar. The rooms were very old compact and without even a bath tub.
Check in was excellent. Our room was a touch dated but spotlessly clean throughout our week. Thank you for the camomile tea and fresh fruit each day. Breakfast was great - fresh and varied - a great start to the day. The complimentary river cruise was wonderful - provided a great historical insight. We ate in the restaurants one evening and both food and service was superb. We used the pool a lot and it was lovely. We found the spa area a little uncared for - drain overflowing, toilet roll holder hanging off etc. Also, the jacuzzi resembled pea soup - not even sure if it is in use but did not look very welcoming. One gentleman stood out beyond everyone else and that was Sabair. He was at the pool each day and looked after us very well - made sure we had fresh towels whenevr we needed them. Such a quiet and humble man who worked tirelessly looking after some (very) demanding guests. The hotel bar does 2 for one cocktails in the evening and they are delicious - served with excelled nibbles. Please use the local ferry to go to and from Fort Kochi - it runs regularly, takes about 10 minutes and costs very little. The hotel concierge will provide a time table. We found it really fun to travel with the locals. The staff are very friendly and happy to help with any request - they are a great asset. Being set on the river, there is always something to watch - boats, yachts and ships of all varieties sail past. Although this felt like an old hotel, she is very well cared for and we felt very much at home. We were sad to leave and would most certainly re-visit if we ever travel back to Kerala.…
Without doubt the best Taj Hotel. Very Hospitable and have total clarity in their deliverables . Made us extremely comfortable from the time of Pick up to drop, Heritage room was extremely good and big. Food is good and can be even better with Variety.
I was staying in room 503, it had leak from AC. Throughout my stay I had complained three times, for water on floor but to no avail. Neither my room was changed, nor the ac issue was solved. The buffet layout of meals in restaurant was not even a standard of three star. Moreover, the servers were more interested in getting the bill signed rather than serving food. They used to come for signature while I was having meals, had to tell them to wait till I'm finished with my meals. I had stayed in Taj properties india and abroad both, but this was the worst experience ever. You guys need to look into it. On a separate issue Mr Thomas sales manager of the property needs to learn, how to talk with guests. I will leave it to that.
