In search of a villa, I drove past The Palace by Ocean hotel and thought that it would definitely be too expensive here, because the area around and the hotel itself looks gorgeous from the side of the road! But when I contacted the hotel staff, it turned out that the price was very reasonable, and the attitude towards the client surprised me. We were picked up from Unawatuna for free and super quickly delivered to the hotel in a comfortable car! As it turned out, the owner of the place Mahesh brought us;) We were met by the manager Hassim, helped us choose a room and after that any issue was resolved with his help within 5-10 minutes. The hotel is brand new, open no more than 2 weeks! The rooms are comfortable, modern furniture, air conditioning, stylish bathroom, wifi, swimming pool. The architecture is not typical for Sri Lanka, more like some kind of country castle in Europe. The rooms are located far enough apart so that the guests of the hotel will not interfere with each other. Separately, I would like to pay attention to breakfast, and the kitchen of the hotel as a whole. Breakfasts are prepared for you. They offer two options: Sri Lankan and English. I prefer Sri Lankan because I love curry and in any country I prefer national dishes. The size of the breakfast is such that it is very difficult to cope with it together. But the food is so delicious that I had to slowly stretch the pleasure and try to eat it whole! Several times we have ordered dinner at the hotel and each time it was excellent. A separate admiration is the grilled fish steak! Prices for dishes as in restaurants that are located nearby. As a result, everything inside the hotel is so comfortable, quiet and calm that you simply do not need to leave its territory. You seem to be at home and all the hotel staff surround you with care and participation!!! There is one risk: you will not be able to see the surroundings, because you do not want to leave this place!!!

Wonderfully spacious and bright and from the moment you step in, you’re made to feel very welcome. This is Mahesh’s Palace and he’s rightly proud of it. The attention to detail in this very modern property is simply stunning. From arranging activities (we visited the turtle sanctuary and the rustic Ayurveda (Kuma) spa, amongst many other things). There is so much to see and do a short Tuk Tuk drive away. Mahesh and every member of his staff at this family run boutique hotel could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. Mahesh even arranged a romantic candlelit dinner for two on the roof top. We saw a family of monkies playing in the trees behind the hotel and we had a visiting peacock on the roof. All quite magical. The stunning beach is only a short walk away as well. It’s truly a perfect base to enjoy the wonders of Sri Lanka.

Grate place, I spend here 10 days during winter holidays. Luxury apartments, very hospitable and complaisant staff, delicious food (local and European cuisine). You can find cinema corner, pool and sunbath terrace here. Ocean is located in 10 minutes walk. Prices are very affordable for this type of vocation

We booked this hotel for a few nights before leaving the UK. We planned to travel south after our stay. As soon as we arrived we knew we wanted to stay for our whole holiday (11 nights).
The hotel is beautiful. Attention to detail 1st class. Spotlessly clean. Amazing fixtures and fittings.
All the staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. Every member of staff helped us to experience the real Sri Lanka. Manesh (owner) was there at 6am to let me out to go fishing with Tiny most mornings. I fished with the locals off the rocks a few minutes from hotel. Sunrise was a true experience.
The food in the restaurant is outstanding. They have a very talented young chef. We ate here most nights. Hoppers for breakfast or a selection of homemade curry certainly gets you off to a good start. Whole king coconut served chilled every morning. Wow.
We stayed in the Princess room and were lucky enough to watch a troop of monkeys playing in the yard most evenings.
They have the best Tuktuk driver. Ronaldo will take you anywhere, wait while you have dinner or a swim. He took us to Yala for the day and set us up with an amazing guide to tour the safari park. Thoroughly recommend this gentleman. He really made our holiday. Take him shopping with you to make sure you pay the correct price.

My family and I truly felt so much peace and relaxation while staying at this beautiful property! From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, each of the staff were nothing but helpful and very hospitable to us, and made us feel right at home! We loved the beautiful pools, meals and extremely comfortable rooms - not to mention the gorgeous views and proximity to the beach, convenience store and train station. We would absolutely love to return to this amazing place!

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel, and while it's a bit farther from the beach and town, we still had a great experience. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away, and getting to Bentota town is easy with a 20-minute tuk-tuk ride. The highlight of this place is that it feels like staying in a beautiful, modern mansion. Everything is super new, and the facilities are in excellent condition. The staff is also incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made our stay even better. If you're looking for a peaceful and well-maintained place to relax, this is a great option!

We enjoyed a beautiful dinner here with our friend’s adult children. It was superb. Fabulous lobster, prawns, fish, traditional curries and great cocktails. We were given a tour of the accommodation and it was immaculate, pristine and very comfortable. Generous rooms and lovely indoor pool.

This hotel/resort/villa is one of the best value for money. Host is amazing and very friendly. Room/furnishings/toileteries are great. Food served is made with full love and care. We would highly recommend staying here. The location is little remote from Beach but spacious rooms and other services makes it up. Keep up good work and consider putting TV's in each room for even better exp.

An absolutely beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The rooms are gorgeous, modern and clean. The manager was very curtious and friendly and he showed us around the hotel so as that we knew where everything was. They have an indoor pool and a cozy tv room with a giant, clean comfy sofa. Definitely recommend this place.

Spent a couple of nights here as a small getaway from the city. Very comfortable and spacious room. Staff were attentive and the meals I ordered a la carte were very good. The beach is about a 1-2 km walk away. There is an indoor pool, which was a new experience for me. An outdoor pool is under construction.
