As the title states we was on a massive family holiday... it was stressful at times as it would be. There was 11 of us in total. Saying this the resort was amazing from the moment we got there. Everyday, every meal there was always something that everyone liked. Food was great! The staff would always go that extra mile. We was even treated one day for a ride in the buggy by a a manager. I believe his name was Yiannis? I would like to mention a bar staff member Pambos he was always there if you needed help. A couple of times we had a few lumps and bumps with the children and he was always there helping. He is a credit to your team and a excellent hardworker who is always smiling. The place is tidy and the staff are always around cleaning and this shows. From the pool area's to the lobby's, around the villages and even the toilets. This has got to be one of the most efficient hotels with some of the highest cleaning standard's I've seen for a while! There was also 2 other staff members, Julia and Georgia I remember and want to thank. They was just lovely and so friendly, nothing was a problem and they went above and beyond. They did this naturally and again credit to your team. The facilities on site are amazing, plenty of things to be seeing or doing. Thank you for a excellent stay and letting our families make unforgettable memories.

After 2 cancelled wedding bookings in Kos we rebooked for Cyprus at the Aliathon upgrading to a 2 bedroom suite in the Ionian block. As the flights landed late the hotel put out an amazing food offer to cater for arriving guests. We traveled with 18 other wedding guests, 8 of these stayed at the Aliathon with us. My mother and father in law stayed in the fishing village and had an issue with there room, but this was partly there fault as they didn’t request a ground floor for mobility issues. Being a holiday village in August the hotel was packed full but Yianis the guest service manager done some magic and put them into a stunning ground floor room. Sunbeds are to be expected for any hotel this size in August but we never had an issue and most days had 6/8 in a row without an issue. Food was amazing, the selection and choice was unparalleled and the BBQ was a firm favourite. Drinks choice was more then adequate and we liked the option of an evening pay bar to buy Prosecco and Champagne. Our room in the Ionian was stunning and spacious with the added bonus of watching the evening entertainment from our balcony, our only complaint with the room was the housekeeping wasn’t the best and compared to the lower standard Fishing Village our air con was near to non existent. Holiday Village TUI staff were all equally amazing, especially Shannon and Jordan, loads going on during the day and always about if you have a question. Our wedding was perfect, we did struggle with the hotel in house planner as she was just far too laid bank and didn’t seam to have the drive needed. However the TUI planner Tracy was just amazing, she made our day happen and we will be forever thankful to her. Last but not least Yianis… he makes this hotel what it is, he’s there 24 hours a day 6 days a week and he always has a beaming smile, we had a lot of stress leading up to the holiday and some booking issues but Yianis dealt with them efficiently and without complaint even getting himself in trouble to make his guests happy. We cannot wait to come back

We stayed as a Family of 4 (Son 11 and Daughter 14i) in a roadside Superior Family Room in the Ionian complex at the Aliathon Resort in early August 2022. After reading the reviews, I wanted to give our honest opinion about the Aliathon and our experiences there during our fortnight's holiday. The Aliathon is split into 3 sections, the Aegean, Ionian and Fishing Village. The Ionian is the newest part of the complex and was our home for the duration of our stay. We arrived just before midnight on Saturday evening, and check-in was pretty swift. The hotel had put on a cold buffet for all those arriving late in the evening, and we took advantage of that before turning in for the night. Our room was spacious enough, spotless, and sectioned into two areas by a sliding partition with the 2 single beds/sofas in the front, and the double bed and bathroom facilities in the rear part. The beds were comfortable, (even the sofa beds) and my only real gripe with the room was that the air conditioning was probably a little slow in getting the room cool during the night, but it was cleaned every day and fresh towels when left when required. Breakfast is your typical holiday buffet, but I was happy enough to be served my holiday omelettes every morning by Alex, who always served them with a smile and by the end of the week remembered that I only liked a little bit of cheese in mine. I would recommend going down before 9 though as it does get very busy between 9 and 10. We spent each day up by the swim-up pool and getting a sun-bed at around 8:20 wasn't usually an issue although there were obviously those who were putting their towels down at the crack of dawn. The manager Yiannis, who is constantly walking around and working tirelessly (and gets through about 4 shirts a day!) was trialling a new scheme where he placed cards on beds that didn't appear to be being used, and then if the card was still there when he returned a couple of hours later, he would remove towels from the sunbeds. This seemed to be working quite well as the week went on. The area was spotless at the beginning of the day, and the barman Tenzing was amazing, serving us everyday with a great smile. By the end of the day, there can be a few plastic cups around the area, but this is more to do with the guests than the staff. (The choice of music around the pool was maybe not quite as child-friendly as it should have been though!) At night the food was pretty good, although, as most remark, by the end of the two weeks you are looking for a change (in general I found the food cooked in the barbecue area each night to be the best). We ate at both of the included a la carte restaurants. The food in both was good, but the service in the Mexican was a little lacking, this was in contrast to the rest of the resort where it was impeccable. Our biggest negative though was probably the evening entertainment which is very samey, and probably great if your kids are primary age. It wasn't really our cup of tea, and everything was finished by 10:30! (We went down to the Wild Horse pub in the Plaza for a bit of a sing-song) So to sum things up: Stunning looking resort. Ionian rooms are modern, clean and tidy. Food and service are of a high standard. Entertainment was OK if you had younger kids, but nothing really for the teens! Remember that this primarily is a Holiday Village with all of the activities that you would associate with that brand. If you've got young kids I would absolutely recommend the Aliathon without reservation. If you haven't, you should probably look elsewhere!

So mixed feelings about our stay. As a result of covid scuppering previous holidays we booked 10 days in late August 2022 to come to Cyprus and stay at the holiday village swim up suites at the Aliathon Resort. It’s a short transfer from Paphos Airport in a modern air conditioned coach. We arrived early evening and weather has been very good during our stay. The facilities are on the whole good. We booked kids activities before we came to ensure (well what we thought guaranteed places) to find out we still had to book again when here. The free activities like wall climbing, high ropes etc all have to be done via the app and at 6pm the day before for the next day only so limits what you can plan to do for your stay. They get booked by 2 mins past so don’t get you kids hopes up otherwise you’ll have disappointed kids. The swim up rooms are very nice. The only gripe about the room itself is at night the only night lighting for the loos is floor LEDS, these are too bright and leaving the toilet light on also leaves the shower light on, the double bed is situated next to the modern glass walls of the shower so also providing too much light to sleep so it’s all lights out which for kids isn’t great when going to the loo at night as we all know they innocently flick on ALL the lights in the process. Poor light designing tbh. Moving on to the most irritating issue which if we are honest had we known we would not have booked and paid the significant extra for. When you book a swim up room you get your own area balcony with sun beds and steps into a pool. The pool is for other swim up rooms AND other premium suites residents. We naively thought this would bring some privacy how wrong we were. Turns out if you are resort side all the other premium rooms use sun beds directly opposite your room, if your swim up is road side you have the road to look at. The biggest and most upsetting issue is if you are resort side your balcony where your private sunbeds are does not get ANY sun until after 2pm!!! If you want to sunbathe before this you have to get up at 6am to reserve your bed opposite. If you go roadside then you have sun only in the AM but nothing all afternoon! Quite frankly this completely marred the pleasure of swim up rooms and simply isn’t good enough for the extra money paid. I do not believe we were warned about this risk and had the guy we liaised with when booking the holiday advised us we could have made an informed choice. Another rather irritating situation is the swim up pool is meant to be for gold wrist bands only but as we found out the resort also allow bed and breakfast stays for local Cypriots who wear no wrist bands. When we mentioned to reception there are people without wrist bands using the area and the sign strictly stated gold only, they pretty much shrugged their shoulders and said it was ok as they were the B&B customers. Again entourages of locals staying as B&B guests wasn’t what you expect from premium suites and the extra price tag (Holiday price £6.5k for 4 sharing a room compared to £5k without swim up). They were loud, not respecting your swim up privacy using your veranda steps to sit and socialise. Food is pretty good but as expected can get a bit samey after a while. The Ala Carte options get booked up really quickly and we got 4 visits for a 10 day visit. The all inclusive drinks menu is good. Wouldn’t say it’s watered down just not the best quality ie local equivalents.

We have just got back from an amazing two weeks here ☀️❤️ HV Staff were amazing and work all hours to keep everyone entertained and happy! Our room was 2224, directly above the archway of the doorway, perfect nosy spot. Kids are spoilt for choice with activities and fun to keep them loving every day! Would highly reccomend the football academy, Trevor and Tommy are a great team, such lovely guys and our boys loved learning from them ⚽️ The pools are lovely, saw it being cleaned plenty whilst we were there, the swim up did seem the cleanest and the only mess I saw was from guests keaving cups/plates at the poolside but most people tidyed up after themselves - only downside was the amount of times the splashpool had to be closed when there was a code brown! But that’s not the hotels fault 🤷🏼‍♀️ My favourite restaurant was the Greek, would reccomend getting booked in and trying it🍴 Would definitely return here, our boys have already asked when we can go again! 🛒 Worth knowing there is a nearby supermarket( local in collaboration with Sainsburys) that has better pricing than the supermarket in the complex 👍🏻

We have just returned home from a fantastic holiday at First Choice Holiday Village Aliathon, Cyprus and would highly recommend it to anyone. Having waited 3 years for this, we were a little apprehensive having read some of the reviews before we left but needed have worried. We stayed in a superior Ionian family room which was lovely. The only inconvenience was the pool closures when the feral rats who think it’s funny to poo in the pool struck. This happened a couple of times during our stay but didn’t spoil our time there and wouldn’t prevent us going back. It’s just a shame people do this and I genuinely don’t think it’s down to babies/toddlers either! All credit to the staff in sorting these incidents out as quickly as possible. The staff all around the hotel are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They all work so hard to make the stay the best it can be and will go out of their way to accommodate your every need. They all work hard to keep the place clean and tidy, any mess we saw was left by those holidaying there which was a shame as there are bins dotted all around the complex. The sun beds were a little stained but always cleaned at the end of everyday - certainly useable and no hygiene concerns. You do need to be up to get a sun bed if you are wanting one for the entire day but it’s not a mad rush and we always managed to get some. It does depend where you want to sit but we always went to the splash pool as we had a little one and would get a sunbed when we went down around 7:30. Throughout the day there were beds available in that area, not sure about the main pool as we never tried to get one there. It would help if people didn’t reserve beds for all the children as you don’t often see them being used. We would have 2 beds for the four of us which was not an issue at all. The reps are all very helpful and although we didn’t really have a need to deal with them I am confident we would have received all the help we needed should we have asked. The entertainment team work so hard and are so full of energy all day everyday. James, Erin, Dan and Twig are excellent at what they do. The HV clubs are brilliant for little ones. Ours attended 4 sessions for 3-8 year olds and both enjoyed every minute of them. It is a shame they book so quickly and then people don’t turn up as it prevents other children being able to attend and denies parents some child free time!! I can’t speak highly enough of Carly and Cameron who run the swim academy. They are both lovely people who make the sessions fun for the children. My two loved their lessons and wanted to do more as they both made so much progress in the 3 lessons they had. Our 3 year old especially loved Cameron and it was amazing to see how confident she became in the water in such a short space of time. If you are considering using the swim academy then don’t hesitate. Trevor and Tommy who run the football academy are fantastic with the children. Our son attended 3 sessions and enjoyed his time there. He was missing playing football so this gave him the opportunity to do what he loved, learn new skills and to take away knowledge from two fantastic people. Overall we had a brilliant time here and would definitely return. Already looking for the next holiday as the holiday blues have well and truly kicked in! ✈️☀️🍦🍹

Thought I would share a few thoughts on staying here when you have a child with additional needs, in case it helps any other parent in a similar position, as we have just returned after a week’s stay. Travelling- We booked special assistance for the first time and it’s bloody brilliant! Meant we avoided all queues and avoided any melt downs. Only problem we had on arrival at both airports was my son’s adaptive buggy wasn’t at the plane steps as planned despite being marked up as a wheelchair. Not helpful having to hold a 5 year old whilst it was found. Hotel Arrival- online check in really helped speed up arriving and getting to our room, especially helpful when you have a child on the verge of a sensory breakdown after being overloaded with new experiences of travelling. Room- We booked an Aegan Swim Up One bedroom room & it was perfect for us. Meant we didn’t have to deal with the morning towel dash and we could potter between the pool and the room easily. The Aegan swim up room pool was much quieter than the other pools, which was great for our son but we still have the joy of the pool bar! When we fancied visiting one of the other pools, we had a short walk but nothing major. Restaurants- We did find the large buffet restaurants a bit overwhelming for our son to begin due to the sound levels but we managed most days to find a quiet table he could chill out at and the food choice was amazing for all of us. All of the staff were respectful for our needs (not always the case in the UK) and didn’t batter an eye lid as food was sometimes chucked around. We didn’t try the specialty restaurants as we ran out of time. Entertainment- We didn’t use any of the kids clubs, so can’t comment on these. We did watch the evening entertainment and our son particularly enjoyed the good old pool party sons. Not sure on the current pty show format (the hv live format red v yellow competiton was much better in our personal opinion) but can’t fault the quality of all the entertainers! Would say the outdoor venue has plenty of room but it’s not enclosed and near the kids splash pool, so we were on constant watch for my son deciding he wanted an evening splash 😂🤦‍♀️ Checkout- We requested an late checkout before we left the uk and again when we arrived, to help keep my son calm before we travelled back (we specially referenced this when we made the request) We were initially refused (receptionists didn’t care) but we spoke to the hv reps and they got it sorted within an hour. We did need to move rooms (which we were happy to do) but it really helped reduce the stress levels. In summary we really enjoyed our time and wished to had booked longer (we were concerned how our son would cope) Generally we don’t revisit hotels as we like to try new things but we might make an exception for here

We have just returned from a 14 night stay at the Aliathon Resort, where we were staying in the Fishing Village. It's everything you would expect from a Holiday Village Resort and much more. The facilities are excellent for a family holiday: Large Swimming Pools, Children's Splash Park, High Ropes and an abundance of activities that cater for children of all ages. These include: Stage Academy Swimming Lessons Kids Clubs Football Coaching plus many more. The resort itself is large, spacious and tidy. Sadly you do get some guests that think it's OK to just leave their rubbish laying around, instead of using one of the many bins provided but you get that at most of the all inclusive resorts. What can I say about the staff? Amazing! Everybody is always happy to help, from the pool cleaners, restaurant staff, bar staff, accommodation cleaners, buggy drivers and the management team. They are very approachable and they enjoy talking to you. The manager Giannis Kontakinos, takes time out to speak to all of the guests around the resort and in restaurant areas, he is always happy to help with your enquiries or concerns. The food in the restaurants is very good and varied. They have a different theme on a daily basis ranging from Italian, Asian, Carvery and local Greek/Cypriot dishes etc. They also have a children's section in the main restaurant as well as a poolside snack bar. Breakfast service can get very busy around the most popular times (8.45 - 9.30) but you will get that at any resort. The choice of drinks available on the all inclusive is very good, and the bar staff that work tirelessly are very friendly. The HV staff are amazing! Especially James, Dan, Twigg, Erin, Alex and Mairead. They all do a brilliant job and I don't know where they get their energy from! Overall we have had an amazing time, and I can't rate this resort highly enough!
