******LONG POST*****
we have just returned from our 2 week stay at the Aliathon resort, before we went I did email the hotel requesting a pool view, I even asked for certain rooms 1157 or 1160, I did get room 1162 in the fishing village kids den which was a perfect location, facing the lighhouse (picture attached). All the kids dens are on the lower floor but they don't all face the pool. we had the icecream kiosk outside our door which opened whilst we were there, the swap box was also next to this, we got lots of inflatables out of it when we arrived. we were 20 second walk from the restaurant where you have breaky & dinner in the ionian Building. Tea time is in a different restaurant behind the fishing village.
When we arrived we were given a map and taken to the room on a buggy, they give you a letter with a barcode on to scan to book the greek & mexican or there is a booking screen in reception, they didn't really give us much information about the resort, we had to find things out for ourselves, towels are collected from the spa where the gym is, they will change these everyday for you. The snack bar by the main pool is really good restocked all day and open until 6pm.
sunbeds- our room was so close to the main pool I did go out in my pjs to grab beds-people reserve beds from half 5-6am mainly the first 3 rows, some mornings we would leave the room at 9ish and there were still beds available but further back, if you did struggle get a bed the manager would always go and find you some so don't worry about getting them.
our room was dated but it was huge, our daughter (age 5) had her own room with 2 single beds we pushed them together, there is a door onto the balcony from her room we kept the curtains shut so she didn't know. there is loads of storage space, kitchen has a microwave, plates, cups & cutlery it felt homely. I took my own sponge and fairy liquid. there is also doors from the main bedroom.
There isn't much to do outside of the resort, the beach is a 2 minute walk but we found it was all hotels and had to walk 15-20 minutes until we found somewhere we could actually hire beds, there is some nice places to stop for a drink & Food. The waterpark is 10-15 minute walk from the hotel and definitely worth a visit our 5 year old was able go on loads of rides. there is a bus stop opposite the hotel which takes you to the harbour, we spent an afternoon & night down there
ENTERTAINMENT (by the splash pool)/KIDS CLUB (behind spash pool)
the reps work really hard, all day and night. we didn't watch it every night, some nights we sat in the Ionian bar playing cards or we went off site to the wild horse pub but it is brilliant for the kids, my little girl went about 6 of the kids clubs, she kept asking to go and met lots of friends, you don't need to book on any of the kids clubs, you just turn up and sign your child/children in, make sure you have registered them on the HV app before you arrive, she also did the sweetie party and chocolate party these were 8euro each but only on certain nights. They also provide free HV tops save your little ones ruining there clothes.
There isn't much for the teenagers to do at night, we saw groups sitting around the main pool, one night we had a group outside our room, they did bang on our door a few times and run off!! I rang reception security come and it didn't happen again.
HV FITNESS/GYM
the HV app also has fitness classes on with Tabby, again you just turn up for these, they are in the room above the gym it's nice and cool. I did 3 of the classes bootcamp, bums tums & HIIT loved them all, the gym is also nice and cool with loads of equipment. Tabby also does aquafit in the main pool which we did a few times. She goes for runs 8am Tuesdays for any early morning people. the app does play up sometimes you have to close it and re-open so the classes show up.
MEXICAN/GREEK RESTARAUNTS
We had the option to book these 4 times with going for 2 weeks, you need to book these as soon as you arrive, I did it about 2 days after and could only get in the Mexican one night.. we managed get in the Greek twice.. but after the first visit to the Greek we didn't return (this is by the main pool) they brought us the menu and didn't even ask if we wanted a drink, our food was horrible. I had a prawn salad it was literally 6 prawns put on top of pasta which was swimming in water, my partners chicken was dry we ended up leaving the food. there was also cats walking under our table which I didn't like. The Mexican was just outside the resort, the food was gorgeous, the staff were really good and served us really quick just a shame we could only get in once.
*DO*
*Take water shoes- we used them for the boat trips, beach and waterpark, the floor on the resort is boiling hot.
* take your own own bottles, we had some from b&m (photo attached) the
bar staff will fill these with anything you want, it also kept the drinks cool for
hours.
*we also took 3 pint glasses and used these at night, the paper cups from the hotel are rubbish.
* take plenty of suncream, but don't worry if you don't have enough we got some out the swap box and the supermarket isn't that expensive.
* Download the HV app before you go and register your child/children before you go, the week before you can see all the activities that are on.
* Book the Cruise vision boat trip- we did the half day trip 11-3pm it was amazing, saxophone player, DJ, all inclusive, BBQ & slide for the kids.
DON'T
* Book the baths of aphrodite cyprus if you have young kids!! we were told it was a 4 hour trip but it was actually 9 hours. you only see one waterfall what you can't even go in, then you go on a boat to the blue lagoon. we got back at 9pm.
STAFF/PEOPLE
The staff were amazing, reception, reps, restaurant staff especially Irene she was lovely, she always made an effort with us, my little girl even brought her a bracelet on the last day to say Thank you, she took our cases to the coach when we left and waved us off, the MANAGER is brilliant, i have never seen such a happy manager at an hotel before, he was always about on his scooter joining in with the entertainment you can tell he loves his job. He also waved us off and come on the coach to say bye when we left. we met some lovely people everyone seemed friendly, we never come across big groups of people drunk or making too much noise. there were some days when there were people and kids without wristbands, the manager would always ask them to leave.
would definitely return!!
one last thing, there is cats (which Im scared of) we had 2 on our balcony one morning if you ignore them they don't come back, some people will feed them all holiday. I never saw them at breakfast time which people have said on previous posts.
anyone going to this hotel will have an amazing holiday.

We stayed here with our young children for a long weekend we had a great time the kids club is out of this world with so much to do for the little one to keep them out the sun for a couple of hours. The staff around the pool cleaning (after twice while we was there another child pooping in) were very rude to the children when asking when they could go back after both pools were closed due to the same problem in both not the hotels fault but they didn’t have to be so rude! Evening entertainment stopped very early for a Saturday night for all inclusive it lacked something the staff looked so shattered like they couldn’t wait to finish. Cocktails were very boring and to strong to drink, when asked if they could make something that wasn’t on the menu the barman refused very rudely when you could see all the drinks that could make that specific drink!! Food was ok something different every Meal! Plastic cups weren’t great and you left with a glass they would make you feel so uncomfortable or was rude and made you take it back, personally for me plastic cups are for kids and festivals.

Just arrived home after a brilliant family holiday travelled with kids age 13 and 10.
Departure from Newcastle well organised and smooth. Tui is a cashless airline so they only accept card on board.
Arrival at Paphos show the staff printed copies of Cyprus flight pass, vaccinated passengers one side and unvaccinated go straight for PCR test 19€ no issues no Q.
Hotel check in was quick and we were taken to our one bedroom fishing village room on a golf buggy. The only food available on arrival was sandwiches and salads kids were starving.
Room was a great size for a family and had a beautiful view from our massive balcony really pleased.
We downloaded the HV app before we arrived and added parents details in before arrival saves time when booking activities. I pre booked football academy for 4 days before we arrived and it was brilliant kids loved it. Stu and Trevor do an amazing job so please pass on our compliments. Booked activities no problem, climbing wall, aerial adventure, wild and wacky, twin track inflatables, kids kayaks, archery to name a few. All very well organised and punctual.
Restaurants all have hand sanitizer, masks and gloves in plentiful supply to use and if anyone forgets your reminded. À la cart restaurants are booked on the screen by reception do it early when your arrival to avoid disappointment, the food was amazing in both. We had 4 visits in 10 days.
Never had a problem with sun beds as we chose the quieter side of the pool it was to busy for me in the thick of it all!
Pharmacy out the hotel did COVID tests.
Water in a small bottle costs you 1€ In the hotel or you can refill your own bottles anywhere. We went to the supermarket outside and bought 6 big bottles for 2.60€ and put them in the fridge in the room no problem.
50€ to keep the room on until 6pm
30€ for safe for 2 weeks
Rules are changing all the time the Reps are in reception everyday to help with enquiries and hotel printed all our return paperwork off for our return.
Overall a brilliant holiday in a very well organised resort thank you Aliathon for a memorable time. Anyone worried about travelling don’t be we had an amazing time.

I travelled to the Aliathon resort with my family for a week. I had a great holiday and lived up to my expectations.
The room I stayed in was an Ionian swim up family room. The key feature of this room was the pool my room backed onto only for guests in this block. The room was clean with a modern interior and consisted of a double bed connecting to a living area which was used as two sofa beds due to four people staying in this room. Other features of the room were a bathroom with shower, a large tv, luggage rack and a wardrobe with lots of space to fit everyone’s clothes.
One of the standout features of this hotel was the food, especially the Ionian buffet for lunch and dinner was consistently changing. Also, many of the nights had themes like Mexican, Indian and Asian which had friendly and quick service to clear your table. For breakfast it was mainly the same with a couple of new additions each day but there was lots of choice (also they only have good sausages every other day). During my stay I also ate at the two A la Cartes which were Italian and Greek-my favourite. The Greek restaurant had a view overlooking the pool and looked idyllic. For me the best thing about this meal was the hanging pork souvlaki although the ouzo cheesecake didn’t get the same reaction with my parents. The food and service were also great at the Italian restaurant. Overall, they had a variety of drinks including frappes. An improvement they could make is to add more mocktails as they just have two.
The hotel hosted a large variety of facilities which included Cyprus’s largest pool which is perfect for smaller kids as it gets gradually deeper as it mimics a beach and stays shallow. Other facilities include a splash park, high ropes, football pitch, games room and tennis court. Due to Covid you had to book all your activities on the TUI app. In the day the animation team provided pool parties and quizzes which my family really enjoyed. Other activities include raft building, inflatable twin track and water rollers. In the evening the external shows were good but some of the shows put on by the animation team were mediocre especially the rave show. However, every night my family and I liked the adult game show.
Overall, I had an enjoyable stay at the Aliathon Resort and it lived up to its 4-star rating. I would recommend this hotel to families with younger children as it has excellent facilities for them like its football, stage and swim academies due to it being a holiday village (my brother really loved the football academy).

We’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Cyprus. We booked 2 weeks before we travelled on a late deal through First Choice and as someone who read nearly every review for all the hotel options I thought it was only fitting to add my review once we got home.
Us: A couple in their 30’s who just wanted a relaxing week in the sun with a little bit of luxury.
We booked an Ionion Superior Double Room (2201) and it was exactly as the pictures were online. High quality fittings and furniture, spacious and quiet (only noise you could hear were people closing their doors every so often and the person sprinkling the grass in the mornings)
Housekeeping were always around and the room was always made up when we returned.
The the breakfast and lunch in the Ionion was fabulous, always lots of choice and super fresh. Also never felt rushed or no matter what time you went.
Dinner the the main buffet was also lovely! Different choice every night and if you wanted to be a little adventurous there was always something to try and for those who were fussy there was always a pasta option, pizza or chicken nuggets and fishfingers.
The salad and fruit bars were always stacked to the top.
We chose not to eat at either of the a la carte restaurants as the reviews weren’t great and I appreciate more of a choice to eat.
There was a excellent choice of drinks, your standard all inclusive cocktails and fruit juices. (One of my only concerns is the amount of plastic ups they go through. There must be an option to purchase and wash a reusable cup to avoid maybe 20/30 cups per person a day. Alot of people were using plastic cups just to drink water out of so maybe reusable bottles could also be available to purchase too. We were very glad we took our Chillys bottes)
All of the facilities were clean, well presented and the staff super friendly.
We didn’t use the entertainment but everyone looked like they were having fun.
We use the Ionion swim up pool daily and felt like it was worth the upgrade just to use that. Without sounding really pretentious, on several occasions both children and adults not staying in the Ionion would use the pool and sometimes it felt very overcrowded. On those days we would go to the pool at the Aliathon Aegian by the supermarket. It was always quiet and more adult only friendly.
Yannis, the manger was so friendly and would always stop for a chat and check there wasnt anything else they could do for you. On our last day we ended up chatting for about 20 minutes about his short time there and how much has changed for the better. Its very obvious he’s trying to implement guest suggestions to ensure the service the provide is the beat it can be!
All in all we had a lovely stay and if we choose to visit Paphos again we would definitely go back!
Thank you everyone!

We stayed at the Aliathon holiday village for 2 weeks at the beginning of June. We went as a group of family and friends.
We all had the most fabulous holiday here, check in was quick and hassle free, our bags were taken by the porter to our room which was ready on our arrival and the requests we had made had been met. We were situated in the fishing village. The room was large, clean and spacious. It had 3 balcony’s and was very light. It was well placed for the main pool and only a short walk from the breakfast and dinner restaurants. The beds were comfortable. The plugs in the room were 3 pin ones so there was no need to worry about finding an adapter. The only issue we had with our room was when we arrived the air conditioning wasn’t working, however we raised the issue with the hotel and it was fixed the following day.
The pool areas were clean and not overcrowded, the pool was warm and was able to be clean walked into which was perfect for our young children. We used the splash park once but preferred to be around the main pool where there was the daily entertainment. There were 2 bar and snack bar close by so not too far to walk when feeling hungry or thirsty. The sun beds were comfortable and in good condition, however a few more umbrellas and small tables would be useful.
The restaurant areas were clean and tidy, the tables were cleaned quickly and efficiently, the food choice was good and even the picky eaters in our group always found something they enjoyed. The children had their own kids section which made feeding them extremely easy and stress free as it was food they knew and loved. We tried the 2 a la carte restaurants that were included in the price, the first was the Greek one. A lovely meal here, would definitely recommend the souvlaki. We also went to the Mexican restaurant, which was also lovely.
The staff were all lovely and very helpful and a massive shout out the the animations crew who done an excellent job entertaining us day and night! We all loved learning the jelly man and koukou move dances. No matter what time of day it was they always had a smile on their faces and happy to help wherever they could. We even managed to get a Russell the Brussel t shirt this year!!
Location wise the hotel is at the end of the resort but it is only a 5 minute taxi ride or a 20 minute beach front walk to the centre of paphos. The beach was a 2 - 3 minute walk away, and looked nice, although I think the sun loungers belonged to the beach front hotels rather than ones that could be rented out by anyone. We got a taxi up to coral bay and spent the day on the beach there. This was fine for us as we prefer pool to beach. There were regular buses from right outside both the hotel’s entrances. And taxis were easy to come by. And transfer time to and from the airport is about 30 mins. Perfect for those with young children.
All in we had an amazing holiday and will definitely be returning at some point in the future.
Thank you Aliathon!!

It was one of the most pleasant visits I had in a hotel in Pafos.
Staff was very friendly providing an excellent service along my stay.
Food was really delicious and you could choose from a great variety of dishes for all tastes. I was really impressed by the quality and the unique recipes (I literally couldn't stop refilling my plate!!!)
Rooms were very big (we had plenty of room despite being 3 members) with a very high hygiene along with all the necessary accessories (plenty of towels, TV, AC, kitchen etc..).
Hotel had lots of facilities too exactly as described in the ad. (SPA, Gym etc..) which were available through out the day. The view and the hotel itself provides to the customer a cosy and friendly atmosphere (reminds a neighbourhood); I would like to point out the lighthouse which gives an impressive astonishing to the whole accommodation.

+1
We have just returned from a great 10 night stay at the Aliathon, staying in a superior family room in the Ionian hotel. Overall the hotel was great, but we feel there are a couple of improvements that could be made to make it even better, hence our 4 star rating. Below are our positives, negatives and recommendations;
Positives:
+ Very child orientated which is great for keeping the kids entertained
+ Great choice of pools
+ Ionian rooms are fantastic. Very modern and clean
+ The staff are very helpful and friendly
+ A La Carte restaurants included in all inclusive (can go 3 times if staying for 10 nights)
Negatives:
- The breakfast area is far too small. Lots of queuing for food/drinks and not enough tables
- Food is very average and there is not much variety. The only exception being the Mexican themed night
- Evening entertainment (for adults) is poor. However the kids entertainment was good.
Recommendations:
* Having previously stayed in a standard fishing village apartment, we would highly recommend paying a little extra for the superior rooms in the Ionian which gives you access to the swim up pool/bar. Plus the rooms are much nicer.
* Book the a la carte restaurants straight away as they get booked up very quickly. Would recommend the Mexican!
* Request a late check out if required. Our transfer wasn’t until 9pm so it was great to be able to have the room until 6pm (there is a 50 euro charge for this)
* Get the 611 bus from outside the hotel into Pathos harbour for 1.50 euros, or take a half hour walk along the beach path
* Pathos Zoo is excellent

Family holiday with our 3 year old and she and us have had the best time ever we really didnt want to leave. We paid slightly more for the superior family room with partition and balcony, having stayed before we requested a certain room and the hotel delivered which is not a guarantee. The room was huge and gorgeous, perfect location for us to go too to finish watching the entertainment after the little one had exhausted herself. Also beautiful location for an early morning chill on the balcony.
But to be fair the staff and HV teams are what made our holiday totally awesome, they can never do enough for you and are always happy and polite the cleaners were always around working hard and cleaning rooms daily, the waiters and waitresses always chatted to us and our little one and work so hard, bar staff always happy to help or give you some of there own drinks to try, reception workers always happy to book taxis or answer any query, the manager is so friendly and constantly checking in with holiday makers to ensure they are well looked after and happy. The HV entertainment team are just amazing so talented and work non stop entertaining or socialising with all hotel guests James and Erin we had seen before last year so knew we were going to be happily entertained but with Dan, Saskia and Twig alongside them they really are the dream team and our little girl hasn't stopped talking about each and everyone of them and probably never will.
Her holiday was made though with the swim academy team of Cameron and especially Carly who taught her so much in such a short space of time it really was the best thing we did putting her through that especially with the choice of pools this great hotel has. Carly became her new best friend even spending time to dance with her in the pool parties and evening shows I really cant praise anyone enough they are all so good at what they do.
Anyone debating this hotel do it you will not be disappointed and get involved as much as possible these guys are so super talented.
