The Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel boasts a festive atmosphere, especially praised during the Christmas season for its impressive decorations and lively evening entertainment, although some guests feel the rooms and entertainment could use an update. While the hotel's prime location with stunning sea views near Paphos Harbour is widely appreciated, opinions on value are divided due to room quality concerns and unexpected costs. The service stands out, with the staff's friendliness and professionalism earning consistent commendation.
Cleanliness is another strong point, although a few guests have noted minor issues. Amenities, including food and comfort, are generally well-regarded, but some travelers find the decor dated and the poolside sunbed availability limited.

Detailed Reviews
Not one negative thing I could say about this resort! We all loved it! Travelled as a party of 9 ranging from age 6 to age 74 and there was something for everyone.
We checked in online before arrival so when we arrived late it was effortless and there was food available even though it was after the restaurants had closed.
We opted for all inclusive and were not disappointed at all by the high standards in the buffet, snack bar or the 2 a la carte restaurants we dined in. Drinks were premium and almost everything was included in the AI with the exception of a few spirits and ice creams.
The 2 sets of grandparents had lovely rooms and as a family of 5 (two teenagers and a 6 year old) we got the adjoining family room which was absolutely perfect for us! The rooms were spotless and we were extremely impressed with the robes/slippers provided along with a bottle of red wine, a stocked mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities as well as iron/ironing board and hairdryer. The fact that the rooms were cleaned daily with towels replacement if needed is a first to me and I have stayed in many hotels!
The hotel had plenty for everyone to do from Yoga and pilates, tennis, putting golf, bowls to kids movies and kids club. We never used the kids club but the animation team were fantastic from what I could see and worked tirelessly! The pool was a little cold due to the time of year but that was no problem as there is an indoor heated pool right next to the slides so the kids could have fun on the slides then dip in to warm up. They have 2 separate Gyms for cardio and weights which were more than adequate for a quick holiday workout and well maintained in comparison to some hotel Gyms I have seen. The kids entertainment in the Athos bar every night was really high energy and the kids loved it. Some of the singers in the lounge seemed a bit unenthusiastic some nights but as a large party we were entertaining ourselves so it didn't impact us at all and sometimes I think the performers play to the crowd and if you engage with them (some clapping etc) it makes their job easier.
All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent - just a 15 min walk into Paphos harbour along a lovely pathway. Big shout out for Nicks watersports located a few minutes walk away - he gave us some great deals and reduction on advertised prices even when not asked on some fantastic fun for the kids (we went back 3 times) He is just past Stavros Flatleys watersports (who was giving no deals even though we were going to spend quite a lot of money there)
We are definitely looking to return to this hotel as we were so impressed!

We stayed here for the week all inclusive for our sons wedding after all the covid restrictions and the hassle and worry of the covid test before the journey it was well worth it in the end. Weather is fantastic there
We had the pool literally to ourselves most days there was only 160 people in the hotel it holds over 1600 so no problem getting a sunbed etc, my granddaughter loved it. Staff cant do enough for you, the food was great although not all the restaurants were open but this wasnt a problem great selection for everyone. The hotel is spotlessly clean you have a temp check on arrival and wearing a mask is only compulsory in the lift and when getting your food from the buffet. The wedding went without a hitch food again was lovely. We booked a sea view room and the bride and groom were upgraded to a sea view suite which was a nice touch.Thankyou
Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Having had our travel plans scuppered a number of times by Covid-19 we got covid tests and booked a last minute flight with Jet2 to Paphos. All very easy and smooth and immigration and bag collection in Paphos was quicker than any UK airport I have ever been to pre-Covid!! The whole county feels very safe, with very few virus cases and the hotel taking every precaution.
We have been to the Athena beach 3 times before and to the sister hotel Athena Royal in January. Would always keep coming back here and were lucky enough this time to have the Superior Room with a sea view which was amazing.
The hotel is unfortunately very quiet still, which has its advantages as some days we had the pool to ourselves, but it is a shame for such a fantastic hotel. The main buffet and 2 of the a la cartes are unfortunately closed and a number of the usual entertainment is sadly not able to happen. We really missed Greek night!!!
The a la carte that was open served amazing steak, but we ended up eating out some nights as we couldn’t eat there every night, although the superior rooms would let you.
The spa has some fantastic offers on due to the lack of guests, we had a massage each for just €75 euro total, with superb therapist Martina - would thoroughly recommend.
We would never hesitate to come back to this hotel, it is probably our favourite in the world. Our last night tonight and as ever don’t want to leave!!

We have stayed in many of the larger hotels in Paphos and they all offer variable levels of service and costs. We chose the Athena Beach because we have previously used one of the other 4 Constantinou Bros. hotels; Pioneer Beach and we were greatly impressed with the service and facilities.
Well, Athena Beach has undergone building work and during the Winter over 100 new rooms have been added. So this hotel is big. The number of rooms is over 500 and this is a family friendly hotel.
However, the location, the expansive grounds, the wide choice of restaurants and bars, the solarium and sauna facilities, and the excellent staff made this a great choice.
It isn't cheap. No purpose in lying, we chose to upgrade to a superior room with sea view and that gave us access to the All Inclusive package and a choice of A La Carte dining, choice of wines and fully branded drinks.
The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage space, wide balconies, and coffee facilities, with fresh water delivered daily. The room safe was included in the cost.
With a dedicated team for Superior Rooms and Suites the service is superb and we had no issues arising.
So, thank you Odile and Katerina, thank you to all the excellent staff, who, in challenging times delivered first class support.
A quick shout for Tracy Bailey the fantastic TUI rep and thank you for all your help.
We will be back in 2021 without doubt.

We have just returned from a two week holiday at this wonderful hotel, we visited with our daughter (Debbie Layzell) and her partner as I needed their help due to mobility issues. On arrival they asked about the room, as it was a long walk from the lifts Reception were excellent and said they would sort it the following day which they did giving us rooms on the 1st floor with walk in showers and less walking distance they were brilliant.
As soon as we arrived at the Buffet Restaurant we were taken to a table near to the buffet with less walking distance for me this continued during the duration of our stay. Hygiene standards were excellent in all areas with Masks, gloves and hand sanitizer freely available in all public areas. All the a la carte restaurants were very good best steak we have ever had in any hotel
The rooms were serviced daily and maintained exceptionally well, we were allocated four beach towels which were changed regularly.
The premium drinks were excellent in all bars and whilst service was a bit slow initially this was soon rectified we saw new staff being trained whilst we were there. Vanghellis & Romana looked after us with drinks exceptionally well and were always very friendly asking how we were. My daughter always dealt with the queries on Reception but she couldn’t praise them enough.
The holiday was just what me and my husband needed and we felt very safe throughout our stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and can’t wait to return again in the future.
Thank you so much to all the staff who looked after us very well.

I’m not really the type of person to leave a review but I had to for this hotel as I had such a great time. With all covid going on - Cyprus was the last place without isolation when I was here.
So to start with first impressions the hotel is lovely. You walk in greeted by a huge chandelier and the view of the sea sparkling. It is extremely clean and they make you sign in and take a temperature which is great.
The room was big and spacious and had a lovely view. Plenty of storage, so ideal for families or large groups. Extremely clean and had seating areas table, ironing board, plugs and bathroom: even a small sewing kit.
The hotel was great because it has a large pool with plenty of sun loungers this was more for the children so ideal for families and speaking to others. However, if you’re a couple; friends or solo you can venture further onto the grass areas and the beach and if you want quieter you can escape this atmosphere.
They had three restaurants, all with great service and prompt in delivering drinks and you never felt ignored. The food was great for kids to adults. Wide ranges of fruit, veg, meat, Desserts, cereal and also had a menu you can order from. They had everything - hotdogs, pancakes, every type of topping for cereal or porridge.
The a la carte menu is amazing too if you get the chance. Recc the lobster spaghetti. The drinks are amazing too. Generous on the amount of spirit given and great cocktails too. Table service is quick and everyone in the bar was lovely.
Obviously activities were cancelled and covid played a part in this but they held movie nights for children every night and they had a singer some nights too.
Also with covid they were great with this: the tables were spread apart, they offered hand sanitizer and gloves everywhere. I even saw someone just wiping the food tongs during dinner service so you cant complain at that.
Staff were all friendly and showed personality and were efficient throughout. In all honesty I couldnt really fault the hotel. I would return and stay here again.
Like any hotel there’s a few bits that need to be looked at, but nothing is perfect and with all the positive points above you don’t notice anything.
Strongly recommend anyone going and looking for somewhere else to stay and caters to everyone - thanks for a fabulous 30th birthday

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at this beautiful hotel.. The staff are all super friendly and will do anything to help you.
On arrival our rooms were quite a walk from the lift and as my Mum has mobility issues we asked for a move and with no hassles at all they were changed the following morning to the first floor with minimal walking distance.. Beautiful large rooms kept very clean with amazing views.
The drinks at this hotel are first class so much choice and all top branded. The cocktails they offer are far more than that are on the menus so ask if you want something different as they will always do for you . Last orders for all inclusive was 00.30 which we thought was excellent .. Evening entertainment is something that could be improved but to be honest this is the same in any hotel ive been in .. they need more live singers with personalities but no way did this spoil anything.
Greek night was a lovely touch from the hotel as was the organist on pool island one night.. would be fabulous to see more live entertainment outside.
Plenty of sunbeds for all … the pool ones do get reserved by 6/7am but to be honest we found it much nicer to sunbathe with the ovean view and sea breeze and beds available all day here.
The restaurants were all fabulous especially the a la carte top class food and steak to die for. We had lunch at the beach bar quite often and can recommend everything from the menu. Buffet restaurant was good too always something for everyone.
Drink service was occasionally slow during the evenings but while we were there we saw more staff being trained every day and by the end of our holiday this wasnt an issue. Special mention to Nana in the beach bar always so happy smiling and to Vanghellis and Ramona in the main bar all so friendly and very efficient at their jobs.
Also a very special mention to Vuella on reception she was absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble if you have any issues she most definitely will help you and sort it an amazing member of staff.
We booked our return covid tests through reception cost 10euros you do have to download the document yourself but was very straight forward … we did have an issue with a password but saw Vuella on reception and she went above and beyond her duties to sort for us . Cant thank her enough..
The hotel and resort feels very safe free facemasks and hand sanitizer all around.
Please ignore the negative reviews as with any holiday there is always minor problems but the hotel staff will do everything they can to sort for you if you just ask..
I definitely hope to return to this hotel again.
Thank you to George and his team for a fabulous holiday.

We were met at the door by bellboys who collected our luggage, and waited while we checked in. The reception staff were professional and courteous, and explained fully about the hotel including mask policy. Once we knew our room number the luggage was transferred to our rooms and we were given a mini tour if our room from the bellboy.
Our room was clean, tidy and well appointed with huge double bed, very comfy, mini bar/fridge, coffee machine with pods, and tea/coffee making facilities. Great bathroom with walk in shower. The balcony was huge with table and seats for four, two sunbeds and brolly overlooking the pool and the beach.
Food. I've read some reviews which stated less than satisfactory, absolute nonesense! The food in all restaurants was top quality, with great staff. Top tip, take the opportunity to eat at the a la carte menus (2 restaurants which was included in our deal), the food and service was excellent.
The indoor pool was a little on the cold side for us, so we only used it a couple of times, the outdoor pool was cold, only went in once. There are hundreds of sunbeds, mostly each pair appointed with sun brolly, table and chair.
Great beach bar, good choice of meals if you didn't want to eat at the main restaurant. Good portions too.
Strict policy of wearing masks when in the hotel in communal areas, plenty of hand washing/disinfecting gel stations, but this was totally acceptable and welcomed. You could obviously take your mask off while sat down in bars restaurants eating and drinking.
The reception staff organised a hire car for us, simple easy process delivered to us at the hotel car park, and returned leaving the key with reception, and very reasonably priced with full insurance. Top tip, drive up the mountains and see the 'alpine' style villages. Make sure to have your Cyprus flight pass/safety pass if you want to sit at a cafe.
Entertainment every night, some great acts, some not always our choice, but fair play to the hotel considering we were out of season at the back end of November.
I work away from home a lot and in the UK at this present time, your room doesn't get cleaned because of covid, which I find odd. Our hotel room was cleaned every day with teas and coffees topped up by friendly accommodating staff.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be going back.

First time to Cyprus, a family of four (including 2 teen girls), we booked two Classic rooms with breakfast included. We had the most wonderful week at this fabulous hotel!
The beachfront location did not disappoint and the pools areas were spotlessly clean with plenty of Sun loungers to choose from.
Our rooms were large and super clean with complimentary toiletries, a safe and pool towels!
The breakfast buffet was AMAZING! Everything you could possibly wish for (and plenty gluten free options for my daughter and I). I especially enjoyed a Buck’s Fizz to wash it down ☺️ Special shout out to Violetta and her superb omelettes!!!!!
We would lunch at the beach bar which was good value and happy friendly staff!
I have to say ALL the staff at this hotel were unbelievably hard working and tried so hard to make our stay a lovely experience, I would like to say thank you very much to them!
Sadly I did hear some other guests speaking to staff with disrespect and complaining about ridiculous things instead of appreciating the huge amount of work that they were doing particularly after such a difficult time due to Covid…..shame on those guests!!
When our visit came to an end we were able to store our luggage safely until our transfer and could use a courtesy room to shower and change.
The only negative comment I have is that ONE week was not long enough!!!!
Thank you for a truly fantastic stay, we hope to come back and see you in the future

Me and my partner were supposed to go to this hotel in 2020 and multiple changes since then but we finally made it this year and it was well worth waiting for!
I couldn’t fault the staff at all, they were on hand ready to serve you and assist you with all of your needs.
We asked for a late checkout and came back the day before we left to confirm it and it was all confirmed for us. We paid 60 euros on checkout for late checkout.
They also give you a card to put all of your food and drink purchases on and you can pay when you leave, saving you from carrying cash around all day.
You can get cheaper drinks from the shop inside the hotel if you’re not all inclusive as buying drinks from the pool bar can be quite pricey. (We were bed and breakfast).
Breakfast choice was a huge variety! Crepes and pancakes, omelette station, gluten free station, lots of fruit, cereals, bread, fruit juices, cheese and meats. Also eggs made for you anyway you like them!
The cleaner came every day and made the bed and added toilet rolls and folded pyjamas into a beautiful design!
We opened our balcony door on a couple of occasions as the aircon was affecting us a bit and we must’ve let a couple of cockroaches in so just be aware!
The athena beach hotel is within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. Also a pharmacy right across the road. I would say it’s roughly a 30-40 min walk to the end of the harbour but you can get the 611 bus outside the hotel which will take you there or even a taxi which is pretty cheap.
You can visit the kings avenue mall on the 611 bus to harbour then 610 and then even carry onto the paphos old town on the 610 too. (I think I’ve got that right but check with reception!)
There are usb sockets to plug your phone into and also all the sockets in the room are U.K. sockets so no needs for any adaptors!
We had a couple of meals in the hotel and paid 23 euros for Greek night and cypriot night where there is Greek dancing and gorgeous food. All set outside the restaurants and all round the pool. Beautiful settings!
You can walk down to the sea right past the pool and take a swim, be careful as very rocky at the shore but you can walk down on the bridge and climb in from there. Lots of water sports places down the beach as well!
The only thing I would recommend, is get down to the pool around 6am to put your towels down if you want a good spot. I decided not to do this on the first day as I didn’t want to be rude but then we couldn’t get a bed at all so that’s what we had to do in the end!
Definitely will be coming here again and I never usually go to the same hotel twice but I had no faults whatsoever!
We flew with BA and got a better deal than our previous booking with TUI so check out all of the deals. Also if you’ve been here before you get 15% off your room price I believe.
Thankyou so much to Michele on the desk as well, always willing to help!
