Great to be back at Elterwater hostel during our family walking holiday this week. Welcome was as warm as we remembered and great to see Andy again. The whole hostel was spotless as usual and real thought had been put into the Covid procedures and how to make us feel comfortable. We had delicious meals for dinner and breakfast. We’ll be back again soon! Thanks to all the lovely team.

This was my first visit to a youth hostel for twenty years... and what a pleasant surprise! The building is situated in a stunning part of the Lake District, with a range of walks for all abilities available from the front door. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean, and there’s a great communal eating/socialising area and well-equipped kitchen. Rooms also come with free WiFi and USB charging ports. Excellent value for money.

Totally idillic setting with all the amenities and comforts you could want to explore the area. Can't get enough of watching the sunrise from the steps of the hostel whilst eating breakfast! A large group of us rent out the hostel every year for a weekend of cathups, jaunts on the hills and of course a few drinks in the nearby Brittania Inn. The hostel always exceeds expectations and offers a comfy bed after a long day in the hills. I even noticed this year that they have installed an E-car charging station!! Really looking forward to my next visit!

First time visiting Elterwater Hostel over the weekend with a large group of friends and I was amazed by how idyllic the location is. It's the perfect base for hikes around the Langdale Valley and up into the Langdale Pikes. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. We are already looking to visit again in the summer time.

I visit Elterwater Hostel every year with a group of friends and cannot rate it highly enough. Peaceful, beautiful location with some of the best fells right on the doorstep. Warm, friendly and welcoming environment - great showers and a well stocked kitchen. The usb chargers on the beds are also really handy!
