We fell in love with the hotel the moment we stepped in for a site inspection for our wedding a couple of months back. Fast forward to last week and we just returned from a fantastic stay at the property.

Everyone was extremely friendly, the food tasting we had was handled very well by the chefs, and rooms were kept up in a timely and precise manner.

We stayed in a room with a pool, and spent our limited time just lounging around.

A big shout out to K. Ting and K. Nutt who made sure our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and met all our expectations with ease.

If you're looking for a little piece of paradise away from all the hustle and bustle, look no further.

We will definitely be returning again.

From the moment you arrive at Como Point Yamu you will be amazed by the hotel - the architecture is modern and there are amazing views around every corner.

We had a verandah room (no 203) which was on a corner so stunning views from both sides with a table, chairs and loungers. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable with plenty of coffee, tea and water. In addition there are complimentary soft drinks, beer and snacks which are topped up daily.

The breakfast is a mixture of buffet style and a la carte and the quality is exceptional. We enjoyed the Thai options which were so tasty. We ate at La Serana (International food) and Nahmyaa (Thai) both of which were amazing , although you pay 5 star hotel prices.

The outside areas are very well maintained and the pool area is the focal point of the hotel with stunning 360 degree views. The hotel is quite remote and doesn't have its own beach although they run many excursions, one of which is to the Como beach club on Naka island (20 min drive plus 5 minute boat trip). We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip there - there is pool, bar/ restaurant and water sports. The beach is also pretty good for this part of Thailand. We also went on walks along the beach near the hotel where there are some stunning villas.

All of the staff are so helpful and friendly, and we were made so welcome. Special thanks to Ann for her kindness and tips on Thai food and Nik for his advice on Thai culture, travel and life. We really enjoyed meeting you both and send our best wishes.

We would love to come back to Como Point Yamu.

I have been lucky enough to stay at this hotel many times since my first visit in 2015. I’ve always loved it. During the pandemic lockdowns and travel ban I would day dream about returning. Thankfully that day finally happened and Como Point Yamu did not disappoint.

The views were etched in my mind but nothing beats being there. Even photos can’t truly capture them, they come at you from every angle.

The hotel is still looking great. It’s vegetation has flourished and it’s been well maintained over these devastating times for the tourist industry, I’ve always loved the interior design and it’s holding up well as the years go by.

Only the north wing and the villas appeared to be operational when we stayed. 40% capacity apparently. Often we were the only ones by the main pool but in my experience even when it’s busier there are ample loungers around the pool you’ll never not get one. Breakfast was still expertly executed with part buffet, Al la carte menu items to order and decent coffee.

I’m going to give the hotel the post Covid closure /low capacity benefit of the doubt but I felt the other menus for lunch and dinner were more limited than they had been in the past and that’s hopefully just because they are finding their feet being open again. Once there was an extensive bar menu that offered great lunch options by the pool but this was reduced to a few items, usually the main restaurant La Sirena offered daily specials but I saw none. The delicious Thai restaurant was closed Tuesday and Wednesday (2 of the nights we were there). Given the remote location of the resort with other dining options a decent taxi ride away you’re unlikely to venture out for meals (and why would you ever want to leave) but this time after 5 nights we were a bit done the la sirena menu.

I also felt like housekeeping seemed a bit overwhelmed with our rooms not cleaned until mid afternoon sometimes and the second evening visit of the past seemed non existent. I suspect they are running with less staff than usual due to low capacity but hopefully this improves.

The spa was as amazing as ever; nothing can beat a como shambala massage at point yamu. The hotel staff are all so lovely and ever smiling. It would be seriously difficult not to have an amazing time at this hotel.

Unfortunately we received a bad service,
The room service was very very bad it take them a lot of time to respond, they didn’t provide a tissue in the suite and they didn’t provide the towels in the suite like we asked, and we ordered a food and it’s stayed in the suite for the whole day no body came to collect the food.

And also when we checked in they told us that the breakfast is from 8:00AM till 2:30PM and it actually was from 8:00AM till 10:00AM and we missed the breakfast.

It was a bad bad experience and I don’t recommend this resort at all .

I went to Phuket mainly to stay at another hotel and booked Como Point Yamu as just another place to spend another night on the island. However, it was my stay here that turned out to be the memorable one.

The resort had caught my attention for a while, but based on pictures of it that I had seen, I was not sure if it would turn out to be fabulous or boring. Luckily, the resort turned out to be fabulous.

I booked the cheapest room and was prepared to stay in a small room without a balcony. However, I was assigned to a huge room with a large balcony and magnificent views. According to the staff, each room category actually consists of rooms of many sizes and shapes.

The resort is not brand new but everything appeared to be well kept and still worked very well. I like the room's minimalistic but cozy design. The bed was comfy and the Shambala bathroom amenities smelled amazing. Pools were huge, staff members were attentive and the made-to-order breakfast was fabulous.

The staff was also kind enough to show me the room that I was prepared to stay in upon my request. The room was a lot smaller that the room I was given, but it looked nice and I would have been fine with it.

Food, however, was expensive than any hotels or resorts I have been to. Caesar salad, which normally costs around THB350++ at other places, cost THB520++ here. I forgave this one because it was super tasty, but the same level of satisfaction was not produced by the truffle pizza (THB740++) or the cocktail (THB340++).

At dinner, I didn't want to waste money on mineral water so I ordered a tequila sunrise for my drink. Even so, the waiter (who I ordered the cocktail through ) still kept asking me if I wanted sparkling or still water. I said I already ordered a cocktail but he would not stop asking. At that point, I came to think this water must be free or it must be a requirement for every table to order one, so I went for still water and ended up with another THB290++ for mineral water that I barely drank on my bill.

Apart from food prices and the mineral water incident, I love everything about the resort, including its location, which is probably one of a kind in Phuket. I would probably come again when I have the chance.

Our first trip to Phuket which is a GREAT destination for families. We’ve stayed in numerous Como properties, and although this wasn’t the best, it was a nice option for our family. The design (which I think predates Como ownership) is unique and modern. Set on a beautiful hilltop offering amazing views from the main pool, which is a showstopper. And the food was very good, and as expected the spa is incredible.

We made one trip to the ‘Como beach’ which was not at all worth the 20-30 minute trek by van+boat. They’ve set up a beach ‘club’ which is clearly adjacent to other beach clubs on some temporary looking dock. Although it’s nice to have a beach option, it was clearly below Como standards. We spent the remaining days at their wonderful and huge pool.

One of our favorite excursions was at the elephant jungle sanctuary where we spent half a day caring for rescued elephants. And there’s also a wonderful gibbon sanctuary with nearby waterfall that’s enjoyable. Plenty to do in Phuket!

My wife and I just left from our stay at COMO Point Yamu. We had a wonderful stay.

Before arriving in Thailand, the hotel contacted us with an overbooking and offered us a stay at a different hotel nearby. They ended up not needing to make us move, but because they inquired, they upgraded our room and gave us complementary massages.

The room was like a slice of heaven. It included a perfect plunge pool overlooking the bay on the south side of the hotel. The common area pool is gorgeous and the staff at the pool is attentive.

I took the Yoga and kickboxing classes which were free and a great workout. The spa at the hotel has an adequate gym, multiple massage rooms, a steam room, sauna and other amenities.

The breakfast buffet which was included with our room is comprehensive and the accompanying entrees are a great way to start your day. We also enjoyed the Thai restaurant at the hotel.

Overall, I can’t wait to get back to COMO Point Yamu. Recommend it to anyone going to Phuket.

From the check in till check out, everything was in order and up to the mark.
check in was very smooth and was finished in couple of minutes with all the details. WIFI worked well could work without any disturbances.
My room was Bay suite which was huge, sea facing, big bath tub, living room with seaview and all amenities working.
Nespresso machines are available in all the rooms with enough capsules of 5-6 per day.
Staffs were friendly and always ready to go out of their way to assist you.
The breakfast spread was enough for everyone and we could order 1 main dish from their Ala carte menu. I loved the coconut water which was available every day in breakfast with other many drinks.
Food was superb . We had all the 3 meals in the hotel and all the dishes were amazing. Whether it was Thai / Italian or Western.. all tasted so good and had good portion.
The view of the hotel - andaman sea and phang nga bay from all the sides whether u are in the room/ spa / coffee shop / pool.
Beautiful landscape and lovely pool.

Hotel offers spa/steam room / hydro pool with view of the sea.
U can't miss their signature massage. My masseur Woon was very good.

Love the concept of minimal with Thai blend . Mix of White , Blues and green is very soothing to the eyes.
This property is very good for the couples/ family who are looking to be away from the crowd.

The only drawback is the beach is approx. 1km away - hotel provides you the buggy service for pick /drop off and if you are looking at nightlife then patong area is approx. 30 min away.

If you are not looking at spending time on the beach then there is no problem as they have good pool area if you are looking at sunbathe.

I'll surely return again with family. Will give 9/10.

Dear Ta8, Thank you so much for sharing your detailed and positive experience! It's wonderful to hear that everything from check-in to check-out went smoothly. Your Bay Suite sounds absolutely luxurious with its stunning sea views and well-appointed amenities. It's great to know that the staff went above and beyond to assist you and that you enjoyed the delicious meals and spa offerings. Your description of the hotel's minimal Thai blend design is truly captivating, and it's excellent to hear that it provides a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. While the beach may be a bit of a distance, the buggy service certainly helps, and the pool area sounds like a great alternative for relaxation. We're thrilled to know that you plan on returning with your family. We appreciate your valuable feedback and look forward to welcoming you back for another fantastic stay! Thank you for rating us 9/10 on value, location, and service. We truly value your patronage.

There is much to like about this hotel.

Set on a remote peninsula the views are unbelievable. views across the Phan Nga National park (tall limestone cliff islands) are unmatched elsewhere on phuket.

The resort is very well looked after, very modern, for me it blended old and new styles very well complementing the relaxing experience i had. Having said this, i do understand how this style can resemble a car park.. but i thought it was executed perfectly and enhanced the natural beauty of the area.

All of the staff are very tentative and reinforce that you are in a luxury establishment.

The pool is the focus point of the hotel. 100m in length!! Split into three sections and facing the Pha Nga bay - an incredible feature of the hotel.

Areas for improvements
Breakfast
There are some areas in need of improvement.
The breakfast - a mixture of a la carte for hot meals and buffet for fruit, pastries etc. it wasn't clear to me whether it is possible to order a la carte nod on the menu. For example there is no option for individual egg choices, omelettes or bacon?!

Remoteness
The resort is very remote. A taxi to phuket old town is north of 800 baht each each way.. it would be nice if there was a hotel shuttle option.

Food value
For lunch you are basically stuck with the menu at la Sirena. The food is fine. But not worth the high prices charged. As there is a lack of restaurants nearby this was grating.

Cohesiveness
The resort needs app to bring together hotel information, activities etc. instead the QR code takes me to pdf documents on a google drive. I didn't like this at all. information on resort facilities and activities should be easier to find and entice you into doing them.

Overall i had a great experience but would like if my suggestions were taken on board to make it a perfect one.

Outside the property there are 2 restaurants. One is like a beach club. It was closed. You can check with them again. It has a nice sunset view except lots of mozzie. Further down, there is a very nice simple seafood restaurant.

The seafront villa that I stayed in won’t require much walking within the residence and throughout the resort as the butler service includes endless buggy rides that will bring you everywhere. Not sure about the other room types though housed in the apartment block. The only steps you might need to negotiate are at the main lobby (driveway to lobby - there might be a ramp). From lobby to restaurants, it’s all good as it’s a flat stretch :)

Airport transfer from the Hotel is THB2,000 one way. I'd suggest you take it in order to avoid any inconvenience especially if this is your first visit to Phuket. Just have to keep an eye out for the COMO Point Yamu board as there are lots of other people holding other boards from other hotels, tour groups and accommodations.
