I enjoyed my stay here so much. When I arrived, I was disappointed to find all the construction on the Darling Harbour waterfront and the shopping centre gone but the longer I stayed the more I loved what the hotel had to offer and its proximity to things and easy transport options. We had some great rides on the light rail and also on the ferry which was fabulous at night because of Vivid. The staff are exceptional and really go out of their way to personalise the stay. Nothing was too much trouble and they are willing to have a chat when they have time and are awesome humans. The lolly station and free mini bar and robes are just little extras that makes things a bit more unique and a bonus. Kids are not the only ones who like lollies! The architecture is fantastic, and it’s great to see the bones of the old Woolstore and appreciate the size of the solid timber posts and beams. A lot of thought has gone into the design. And the bed was as comfy as! I got a ‘shoebox’ room and was a little bit worried but it was such a nice space. It was very comforting. I would definitely return as I have had such a fabulous five days and can’t fault anything.

Hotel's Favorite
I would like to say that my stay was wonderful and my black pug Donnie loved it as well. The location is also very convenient since it is a short walk to Darling Harbour and not far from the City. There is am IGA express close to the hotel and lots of places to eat as well. Everyone was so friendly and warm and always greeting us and making the guest feel special. (I am sure they are friendly to everyone so that means everyone would have felt special). When I arrived in the room (queen room) I loved the surprise bag of treats for dogs and humans. Mister Percy (the restaurant at the hotel) people were all really nice and friendly as well. They were always smiling, accommodating and gave lots of love to my pug so he loved everyone as well. I checked out the previous day evening so the next day someone called to give me details on extra charge to make sure everything sounded right. I appreciated Ovolo for checking. I can't fault 1888 Ovolo and really enjoyed my stay.

Last minute booking to attend a conference at the ICC. Didn't expect it to be THAT close. Its an excellent choice should you need to be near ICC. I am a huge fan of the entire vibe, exposed brick, beams, cute and clever touches everywhere. It is sensory very pleasing. I have also enjoyed a dinner on my first night at the bar downstairs and both my food and my martini were made perfectly. I have staying in two different style rooms - 2 nights in a deluxe king and one night in shoebox... Now my opinion on this may be somewhat controversial, i actually preferred my shoebox room with no external window, to my large deluxe king. Here is why: I found deluxe king bed to be too soft and bedding really hot. My aircon played up both nights and turned in to heater by the morning, where it continued to blow warm air, even though i tried to get it to cool down. Super strange. The room also has a strange clicking sound which woke me up number of times both nights. Spooky! My shoebox room had a predictably cold air all day round and zero weird clicking, it felt super cozy, so to my surprise i literally didn't want to leave it! The bed was less lux, which i preferred as it didn't tend to absorb me by middle of the night haha. Overall would 100% stay here again. But likley to just go with the tiny room next time for solo trip.

WOW what a place to stay. The staff were all so friendly and obliging. The room was wonderfully appointed with an amazing king sized bed with fabulous soft king sized pillows. The bar was a surprise and the goodie bag. The addition of help yourself lollies and a pin ball game were a great surprise & fun. The plant based breakfast was lovely & fresh & plentiful. Who needs bacon? A great place for an adult retreat.

The Whisky Tasting event was one of the many highlights of our stay here. The lovely Alexander talked us through 3 Australian, and 3 international whiskies, accompanied by 6 exquisite morsels crafted by the in house chef. I had no idea there was such a range of flavours, and learnt so much. It was an absolute treat, and would highly recommend any similar events without hesitation.

A lovely hotel in a great location, perfect for transport, restaurants and cafes. sights and the city. The hotel itself is virtually perfect - the staff, the rooms, the facilities and some quirky benefits on top. Only note, do take the front desk's advice if they tell you to pass through the parking garage of the Novotel to get to the harbour / rail station quicker BUT use the lift not the stairs.

The room itself was roomy and comfy, the bathroom was very spacious, plenty of room for 2 people to get ready at once. The fridge was well stocked with freebies (including bottled water, very appreciated). The bar downstairs has a fantastic atmosphere and was so nice to decompress in. The service itself could not be faulted, the front desk staff are the friendliest I've ever met in a hotel, their dedication to ensuring all our needs were met was absolutely the best part of our stay. A beautiful hotel, I will certainly be returning.

A lovely boutique hotel built in what must have been the smallest Woolstore in Sydney. Funky styling in the foyer and rooms, heavy oak beams, high ceilings, all the usual mod cons in the rooms, the tiniest bar fridge I’ve ever seen, excellent complimentary low waste toiletries, comfortable if somewhat soft bed, excellent hot water and water pressure in the shower. It was my birthday so the staff had left a handmade card, welcome message and some sweet treats, which was a lovely touch. We didn’t eat or drink at the hotel but I saw a number of people in the bar (Mr Percy) both evenings. I’ve stayed in a bigger Woolstore hotel very nearby (now apartments I think) and this is a much nicer option. We stayed for two nights (Sat/Sun) to visit various family and friends. Pyrmont is not exactly in the centre of the action but it’s not far away and to be honest, the area was quiet at night, which led to a decent night’s sleep. Walk straight through the Novotel car park (and down the stairs) to access the Convention station on the light rail (line 1) which takes you to Chinatown and on to Central Station for easy train connections and light rail down to Sydney Harbour.
