The best spa in the whole of Serbia, experiences from all over the world applied in one place. Traditional hospitality with plenty of quality food. Rooms and suites on the level of a five star hotel, beautiful nature that surrounds all this. Great place for an active vacation.

I spent one night in hotel Radan in august 2012. Prolom Banja is one of the smallest spas in Serbia but maybe the best known one because of its thermal water. Hotel Radan is big hotel consisted of three buildings. It is 80s style hotel and special hospital that can provide wide range of therapies. Do not expect any luxury, this is just not that kind of spa. Rooms are medium in size, well equipped for the category of the hotel. Breakfast is ok. you can choose between sweet and salty and that is it. Area of the hotel is well maintained and clean as is the hotel. Lots of elderly people and children, surprisingly calm in the evenings. And one curiosity, there is no cold water in the hotel at best luke warm, because hotel is using thermal water as tap water. Good if you are seek but not if you are thirsty. All in all would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Dear Sasa608, thank you for your feedback. We're glad that you're satisfied with our hotel. Our hotel Radan isn't a hospital - all spas around the world have medical centre with diagnostics and treatments. Our centre also have a Wellness area and swimming pool with thermal water, as you probably noticed. Just one tip: all our rooms are equiped with mini fridges with bottled Prolom water, for those who don't like it at it's natural temperature (29-31C).

We spent one night in the hotel and we were disappointed. Although the rooms are very clean, big and probably renovated ( we stayed in one of the apartments ) there was a bad smell in the bathroom and the water did not flow out smoothly. The service is friendly, yet very few can speak English and fully assist, all signs are only in Serbian and the feeling is that they are not prepared to have tourists coming from abroad. The Spa offers very nice and professional treatments but the bureaucracy of registration is so complicated and without too many people who could speak English that we ended up having only part of what we had wished for. The spa area decoration and ambiance do not comply with your expectations from a modern spa hotel. Food is another issue, it is served in very funny hours (breakfast till 9:30 on weekend, dinner at 17:30-19:30...) there is no choice for dinner but you get a first and a main course only (diet restrictions are respected) and breakfast is a buffet that is not very rich ( we skipped lunch although we were on full board basis).
The area is very lovely and worthwhile a full day trip.

Dear irit_lillian, We're truly sorry if you're disappointed with you're one-night stay in our hotel. In high season (April-October) we have more English and Russian speaking employees in the hotel, but at this moment many of them are at their days-off. Time of meals are adjusted according to most of our guests and their needs, time of medical treatments etc. We have 5-meal choice for lunch and dinner (3 meals from daily menus + dietary and fast meal), but guests decide one day earlier - you were only one day at our hotel, so there wasn't time to make a choice. We invite you to visit us again and spend at least 3 days, so you can use more of our facilities (spa, swimming pool...) - we're sure you'll get a better impression of our hotel.

I would like to share my disappointment with all tourists who are planning to spend their holidays in the hotel Radan in Prolom banja, Serbia. Even though the location of the hotel is wonderful, all other additional activities are terrible. The biggest disappointment is that the description (e.g. service, accommodation, facilities) on the official website of the hotel does not match the reality. For instance, for all the guests of the hotel entrance tickets for the hotel's outdoor swimming pool are not free of charge, even though this information is not pointed out on the official website. Wi-fi is not available in any room, and if you want to use the computer in the lounge of the hotel you should pay extra money. On the official page it clearly stays that all the rooms are equipped with free Wi-fi access. The use of natural resource is also limited by the strict hotel rules. For example, the amount of water from the natural source nearby hotel is limited, you can take just 20 liters during your stay. If you want to drink extra water, you should pay extra. If you are keen on walking routs, do not expect to do that, because walking paths are neither appropriate marked, nor staff of the hotel will give you advice which direction to go. It is the top secret. Of course, if you pay extra, the mystery will be solved. If you want to drink water during your meal, waiter will bring to you the used half-full pitcher from the nearest table...in addition, we would also like to commend few employees, who are giving their best to make your stay better in spite of all things above mentioned.

Dear Nezadovoljni123, thank you for sharing your impressions about our hotel and pointing of some little mistakes. You're absolutely right about the fact we didn't point that only the indoor swimming pool is free for the hotel guests. We'll correct that information immediately at our web site and point that hotel guests should pay reduced price of 1.5 Euro per day. We're apologizing the Wlan wasn't available in your room, but I hope our colleagues from reception desk offered a room with better signal? Our guests pay for the use of computer in hotel lobby, but if you brought with you some device (laptop, tablet, Ipad...) you could use internet for free. But you're absolutely right - we will invest in better internet signal coverage very soon. We're very sorry for these inconveniences and hope that everything else was well at your stay in our hotel.

We arrived at hotel Radan in Prolom Banja by bus without reservation!
The hotel was fully booked but in order to accommodate us we were invited in the brand-new aisle of the hotel.
Not speaking Serbian the friendly staff did their best to make our stay an enjoyable experience.
Primary a stop for us to visit Djavolja Varos/Devil's Town, we ended up having a really good time a Radan hotel.

The first time I came in Prolom, I thought it was one of the smaller spas in Serbia, which is solely intended for the treatment. I wasn't very pleased with her appearance at first glance.
Then I went on a tour and realized that whatever group you belong to tourists, you will find something that suits you.
In Prolom Spa for a reasonable amount of money you can get solids accommodation, full board and treatments composition and physical medicine. Stay at a spa can complete wellness treatments, relaxing in the indoor or outdoor pools, day and night excursions to Devil's Town that should not be omitted if you go there.
Will be good you walk up to the church Lazarice 2,4km in the afternoon.
Employees in Prolom Spa are extremely polite, professional, always at your service and strive to make your stay enjoyable.
The only thing you will already after 3 days to be boring, but Prolom Banja is definitely my recommendation for a mini vacation.

Well, it is very difficult for me to decide to give one mark for this place. Not sure I would go there again, yet - it was a good experience!
Let me start with great things: the water, the air and the salty room. I was ill and coughing just before we went there and no syrup nor pills could help for like two weeks. In one afternoon it all just went away!
Now the specific things. Communism from the 80-ties still lives there and the time has definitely stopped! You can touch it and feel it in every aspect. You are not treated as a guest whose word is the law, but rather as someone who is there, has rights, but definitely can go home freely and that's it. You go there to get some health and that's all. It's not a typical western world SPA and wellness center. You want to book a massage? You go to the nurse, in the "ambulanta" and wait there. I was waiting 20 minutes while someone was trying to exchange his service from the package he bought for something else. Then another woman came there from the internal room (probably doctor's cabinet). And there were other people waiting with me also. Then the nurse looked at us, asked what were we waiting for, and just said "well, go to the swimming pool or something, I will not finish here soon".
You go to the spa - on the reception you have to give the paper with all procedures you went to, your room number etc. If you go to the salty room - you have to wait until they give you some nylon socks. From the reception. Like if they couldn't just leave some in front the room.
Food - waiters are efficient, but some of them treat you like you are the boring cousin who just now found to come there! Yet, some are very nice. And if you ask for more food from your prepaid package, they will bring and no one will ask for payment. Food was ok, but really nothing special.
Rooms. Just like in 80-ties. Well, you went there for health, don't forget! It is definitely not cold there. Besides in the so called "warm link" between two hotel buildings, which is maybe one degree warmer than the the outside, but it could also be one degree colder.
Road to the place is disaster. But the nature, the water, the air and some people are really worth getting experience! Of course, in case you are interested in seeing communism as it was in Tito's time!

Dear Yazzaz, Thanks for your review. We're really glad that your health improved in our SPA - that's our main goal wiht our guests. On the other hand, we're really sad that you inconveniences in our hotel. I'll personaly check what happend with your massage reservation, because it's not usual to wait that long. Parts of our hotel are from 80's, you're right about that, but we're really trying to renovate whole hotel part by part. Also, there are double bed rooms - all floors have shorter wings with only double bed rooms. I presume it was missunderstanding between your agency and our reception desk while making reservation. We'll try to improve all things you mentioned and we hope you'll notice that if you decide to visit us again.

Very difficult to rate it because it was so ridiculously cheap. We paid less than 25 Euros per person per day, inclusive of three meals and majority of hotel and spa facilities (swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam bath, salt (halotherapy) room etc. This was excluding any discounts that are available for children and pensioners. However, very little is needed for this to be a decent spa establishment, but it is still missing. Hotel has been renovated, but it was badly done (thick layers of ancient pain on door frames, half-redone bathrooms...) and level of room cleanness and maintenance is nothing to write home about. Public areas, especially spa and therapy part, are in better condition than the rooms. Food is plentifully and acceptable, but nothing special. I struggled to get pescetarian/vegetarian option at times, even though we visited during “fasting” period in Serbia. With some investment, better management and proper staff training, this could be a pleasant establishment. I am rating it a 3, because it was very good value for money. If I paid any more, it would hardly get even a decent 2. I would have preferred if I paid more but got better service, though.

Dear Ana16, Thank you for your response. As you already noticed, our hotel has parts that should be renovated (we plan to do that in next few years), but we're trying to compensate that with service and low prices. Unfortunately, a lot of guests in Serbia aren't ready to pay higher prices. We'll work on increasing our service level and I hope that you'll notice the difference, if you decide to visit us again.

Me and my family were in this hotel for a short vacation and had a wonderful time there. The first impression of the room was not good, because everything there was so old except the tv. But anyway the beds were comfortable and all other things functioning well. I can't forget the every day smile of waitres. All were very kind and besides that the food were also rich and delicious.
The indoor pool were good for swimming, but some time to time there was a strange smell. Probably the ventilation was not functioning ok. The other parts of the spa were also good and I don't have complains.
Overall we will visit this hotel again, because I saw that a new SPA is under construction and also one part of the rooms were renovated and I hope that the rest of the rooms will be also.

Dear Aleksandra A, We're really glad that your family and you had a nice vacation in Prolom Banja. As you noticed, we invested a lot recently: new floor with rooms and apartments was built this year, new restaurant, 2 lifts... Also we're building new Wellness center with indoor/outdoor swimming pool, gym etc. We also plan to build another outdoor pool, near the existing one. We hope that you'll visit us again and enjoy the new facilities of Hotel Radan.

We were guests in hotel Radan in Feb 2019 and we made reservation for 3 nights only because we were not sure if we'd like it. We were two parents and kid of 1.5 years, we stayed in apartment ( apartments are great) . We prolong our stay to 7 nights :) that is a sign that the place is great. We enjoyed surrounded with beautiful nature, fresh air and very good spa center. The place was great for small kids, inside and outside swimming pool, polite staff, very good massages. Swimming pools were opened until 22:00 , that was great . On the 3rd floor, there was a coffee bar, so they have organized live music in the evening. Food was also good . Only thing that I don't like that was that in Serbia is allowed to smoke in coffee bar . We recommend this place, it looks much better than in the photos on their web site and instargram :)

Also, don't take the last room in the corridor - it's very cold! No heating can help. There are not double bed - only twin, and in some rooms they are stick together, but still - they are two beds.
