My bad luck! Wife and I had to leave a rental house on the beach at 10pm because it had roaches all over kitchen and our bedding... So I get here and make the mistake of telling them this. So I get a $500 a night ocean room for the next three nights. Willing to abandoned my house on the...

We always stay elsewhere on the island (for more privacy and far better value), but we enjoy visiting the public parts of the Mauni Lani grounds: the ancient fish ponds, snorkeling cove (yup, public property up to the high-tide line), and the shark pond and turtle pond (next to Canoe House restaurant). Lovely!

My wife and I stayed here for a week. We loved this place. Everything about it was top notch. It is an older property but has been very well maintained. The rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. The food is very good. The beach and pool are great. We will definitely return.

I have stayed at the Mauna Lani three times now. I love this place but I used to love it more. One of the reasons I loved this hotel is that I don't feel like I am being charged for all the extras. That is no longer the case. On my most recent visit in March 2017, I found that...

The hotel is beautiful, if slightly dated, and the majority of staff does an outstanding job of making you feel welcomed. I purchased the rooms as part of a package through Costco Travel (two rooms, car, etc.) for a multi generation family trip. We arrived late at night (10pm) and although there wasn't any bell staff to greet us, they...

While the architecture of the hotel is a little dated, the fact that all rooms enter into a wonderful atrium environment is something really special. The fish ponds stocked with turtles, koi and other fish varieties are a wonderful accent. There is a fairly large protected cove where families, even with young children, can snorkel in a protected area safely...

I got such a good deal for our room I was a little unsure of the quality and I was incredibly happy with our visit at Mauna Lani. Our room looked as though it had been recently renovated along with the pool areas and the restaurants. For $14 drinks we felt like the bar was a little stingy with the...

If you've read anything I've written on this site you will have seen numerous reviews of the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows on the Big Island. I admit to bias in that I love the people of the Mauna Lani as my second "ohana". I have been going there since it opened in 1983 and have known many of...

Your stay starts with a warm welcome at the valet/bell desk. Use valet, since it costs the same as self parking. Then upon check in you'll receive good treatment at the front desk and an explanation of what you can find around the resort, they even have free bikes or a shuttle that will take you around. Room service is...

We got into Kona on a late flight and finally got to the hotel about 11PM and we were exhausted. Bellman was very helpful with luggage and scooter and the valet was particularly prompt and they both sent us right in to the front desk where we waited no time and had a refreshing drink waiting on us and leis...
