We visited Hartenbos and George and stayed at ATKV Hartenbos in a one-bedroom rondavel for a very reasonable price. Rondawel was very clean and service at the reception was good as usual. ATKV is very central and as lawn bowlers, we are fortunate that Mosselbay has many bowling greens in places like Kleinbrak, Grootbrak, George, and Hartenbos with very friendly members.

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at the resort, the room was stunning and neat with a lovely view and easy access to all facilities. The staff were really friendly and accommodating upon our arrival. There were a few issues to be noted such as the faulty bathroom light switch which kept sparking and continuously turning off. The safe was in a locked state with no key available and the batteries were drained which made that we were unable to reset and utilize the safe. The main reason for our trip was to enjoy the hot pools at the facility however only to get into the pool and find it to be quite cold. The staff had not notified us that the pool is not functional or warm nor indicated the temperature of the pool. We were never notified that there are issues with the facilities on booking which made it disappointing upon arrival. When enquiring about the coldness of the pool, the staff member indicated that the pool has not been working for the last 2 months and this was never communicated to us. Apart from this we made the most of our stay and enjoyed the scenery and lovely walk on the beach.

Possibly the worst 'slapgat' customer service in South Africa. First for us. 2 weeks ago we booked and pay for 7 nights in one of their fully equiped units.
Since they took the full payment we have not received any confirmation or documentation (In two weeks)
We have tried endlessly to phone their listed number but to no avail just no answer on it ever. Either their reception staff is just plain 'slapgat' or the phone number doesn't work.
We contacted their central reservations who could not assist us. This after paying close to R5k for 7 nights out of season and now with no confirmation or method of communication on their part
What is worrisome is that we have booked plane tickets, rental car and some activities in the area yet we have no clue as to what is happening with the fully book and paid accomodation Hartenbos ATKV
Emails to them also went unanswered
Sounds seriously dodgy (or slapgat) to us at the moment.
As said two week no form of getting hold of them via phone or email and no one is getting back to us

we were there for two weeks; had a lovely time it is peaceful. I would recommend it for anyone. The only downside is that although you are staying on the resort you still need to pay to make use of the heated swimming pool, I would have thought that it comes with the price of your stay.

What a lovely holiday place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as always but it was the first time we stayed in a Rondaval as we usually camp. We were so impressed by the service delivery of the staff that came to check in on us everyday to see if we needed anything or if they can clean the Rondaval for us. We will definitly be back again!!

We regularly spend a couple of days at ATKV Hartenbos and can highly recommend this park. The staff are friendly and accommodating, but still manage a tight ship. The (normally) spotless ablutions are modern and very functional. The facilities are excellent.

Its crazy that the ATKV tell you that they only have 4 person accomodation available, but when you drive around, half the place is empty. Even more crazy... they tell you that the price of unit you want to book... but when you go to bookings.com you can get the same unit for about 40% cheaper. Why become an ATKV member?? Whats the point. Their booking system is a joke.

We are on our long awaited tour and our second stop was camping on ATKV's Site E in Hartenbos. Reception was a dream and ever gave us a choice of three campsites. The very well maintained campsites are big enough to accommodate our caravan and vehicle. The ablutions are modern and maintained arround the clock. We wiil award a five-star ooverall rating to this campsite. Recommend to all visitors.
