We are a simple island based lodge / eco resort in an unbelievably gorgeous location (especially considering how close we are to Jakarta). We have 6 open air huts and 3 cottages with two rooms each on our main island. We also have two small camp sites - one on our main island and one on our little deserted island. We do our best to be eco-friendly and are experimenting with efficient energy initiatives, natural building techniques, island based organic farming, coral planting, rain water harvesting, water efficiency, and local educational and economic initiatives to boost quality of life for the communities in our region. We also prioritise food and do our best to keep it delicious AND healthy. Ultimately, we hope to make you feel at home and hopefully inspired by a little pocket of bliss on the doorstep to Jakarta.

We stumbled upon Tiger Island / Pulau Macan when I was looking for a quick 2 day getaway. I saw their website and their principles & the accommodation looked interesting. This was also a good opportunity to teach our kids eco friendly behaviour & a way of life. Their service was impeccable. Jun met us at the boarding point at Ancol Pier. A quick 1.5 ride across the azure waters and we were at Pulau Macan. Light snacks and refreshing cold lemon grass juice awaited us. We had chosen Sunset Hut that can accommodate about 6 including kids. And the views from the open air hut was spectacular. Imagine your room literally opens out to the sea sans windows and doors. We could directly access the sea and played around with fishes, careful not to disturb the corals... all accessible from our own private deck. Lunch was a healthy and tasty affair. After which we were off snorkeling with a great team of guides. Dinner is served on the common deck after which we retired to our hut and watched a thousand stars from our deck..... The huts are designed with a lot of thought & everything is built with nature in mind. Awesome experience & we will be back soon. Tip : book early since they are almost always full. Don’t worry about the huge monitor lizards. They mind their own business & don’t venture into the huts.

From marina ancol to tiger island with the boat by the route the sunny island, pelangi island, klotok island make the eyes so fresh with the beautiful place and view. In tiger island really really awsome. They have a louge and like a restaurant for the eating. And then really excited with the room Garden hut like a paradise. Over all very good. All menu delicious from bfast, lunch, and dinner. And you can play kano to pulau macan kecil, snorkling with the best spot. Dont forget you can eat marsmellow in the night. And all staff very humble and helpful, specially for Mas Junior and team. This is a maldive of Indonesia. Recomended island.

This is an all-inclusive resort island. There are only the resort guests and employee in here, no local inhabitant. I won't talk much about their comprehensive facilities, because it's already mentioned many times by other reviewers. I just want to point out that guest won't get bored in here. The food is comfort food, mixed with Indonesian and international menus. Both local and international guests felt satisfied with the food taste. This is a favourite place for expats, so the ambience here is very international and cosmopolite. They provide a snorkelling trip once a day in a decent fisherman boat. Don't expect much in terms of underwater diversity, especially those who already went to the eastern part of Indonesia. There is a small island next to the resort island. Better to go there with kayak, even though guest can walk there (It would be too hassle though, especially with the stream and sea urchins). I personally enjoy just laying in the sand here because it's so quiet. There are many guests rooms only have a shared shower room. But believe me, it won't be a problem at all. Stargazing is unfortunately so hard to do in here. It's still near Jakarta, so air pollution can't be avoided. Let alone the lighting from the nearby island, and Tiger Island itself. All in all, just remember that for only a 2-hour boat trip from Jakarta, this is the best of someone could get. I mean it, it's THE BEST.
