Koh Munnork , a small and private island hideaway in the Gulf of Siam, 3 hours drive from Bangkok is one of the most extraordinary resorts in Thailand. This is the ultimate in privacy, rest & relaxation, romance, and views of one of the most stunning locations on earth. Among locals "in the know" who seek excitement with absolute privacy, Koh Munnork's reputation is unrivalled - for starters, A fantastic beach to only the dwellers of this small island with only 24 cottages, Crystal blue seas, Snorkeling and right outside your door ! And not far away from Bangkok, Koh Samet and the rest of the North of the Gulf of Siam's unforgettable activities that are absolutely beyond compare.
This is the perfect choice for your sweet escape from the city. The place is the answer to your “me time” and you can enjoy the serenity of the island. However, it’s a little overprice compared to what they have provided on the island especially the facilities. There’s no TV in the room, there was no electricity from 9 am to 1 pm (the resort quote ; so the visitors can enjoy the sound of nature and reduce the greenhouse effect from the generator), the service to me is not really that up to luxury standard (again compared to the price we paid) and lastly we’re obligated to check out at 12 pm and we have to wait 3 hours under the bad weather just to wait for the boat to bring us back to the land at 3 pm. They better think of more solutions or better waiting areas to offer to guests especially when there are storms and rainfalls. Shout out to the restaurant, food, drinks and breakfast they are all superb and tasty!…
Our group (8 pax) visited there for 2 nights with full package. We appreciated all staffs in good services. nice food served prawn & squid. We enjoy our trip, more relax with natural , snorkeling , walking around, everyday we meet peacocks so cute. temporary chaotic city in this period. Thank you.
We always stay in a beachfront villa, which is 20 steps away from the beach!! The room is spacious, clean with enough amenities you need on the island. Many water activities for you to try, snorkeling with a nice coral reefs and small fish, kayaking with some rent fee or you can BYO sup board. This island is small enough for you to walk around.
I have visited many many island and beaches in Thailand and I choose Munnork Private Island is my best place to visit ever. If you want calm beach nice place good food and good hospitality of the resort this place is the answer.
Koh Munnork is the best place to getaway with friends, family or couple. It’s very peaceful place and let us spend time together without wifi connection. The food is very good with reasonable price and staffs are very nice.
A small and private island. It's take 30 minutes from the land. This resort is in privacy, quite and peaceful. There is a beach, blue sea. You can enjoy snorkeling right outside your room. Room is suit for 4 persons. There are 2 bathroom s in each room. There is only one restaurant on the island. Food is very good, fresh and delicious.
We have been there for the third time. Beaches like this are hard to find close to Bangkok. The garden Bungalows are good if traveling with children but I must say.. my last visit was 2017 (and now in January 2020) and nothing has been done to maintain the rooms. We are not expecting any luxury but if you are offering AC but there is no single remote control working for our bungalow (and it’s set to 20 degrees)... and the other bungalow offered to us had the same problem...?! Also, during earth hour electricity is turned off for 4 hours. Fine. Why is light and AC at a bungalow next door which is unused for days then on at all times??? Why is in garden bungalow area not one single fresh water shower or possibility to rinse off sand after a beach visit? There’s holes in planks everywhere and furniture in the rooms has lots of cracks etc. We are glad that we didn’t hurt during our stay. l feel like the prices for the bungalows are not justified (or I hope money is used to finance some renovations in the very near future). We paid > 5000 Thb per night. It leaves me sad to see that this little gem placed is cared for so poorly. It feels like it’s all falling apart and nothing is done about it. Maybe the beachfront bungalows are in a better shape. But the condition of restaurant and lobby area are just as the bungalow we used. There’s also things that could easily be fixed as you can see in my pictures. One shows the view from the room (to the side - but hey, that’s what I am seeing when I wake up) and the second shows some sad plant that has died a while ago and no one is taking care of). It’s just so sad to see. Dead trees and leaves hanging down everywhere. Positive: the beaches are nice, there’s swings and lots of space in shade for everyone at the beach, food is good, some staff is friendly (but it helps if you speak some Thai) …
We have had some great days at the island. It is quiet, beautiful and just what we wanted in our holiday. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we liked the food and hospitality. The wifi is slow, and there not much to do other than swimming, snorkling and relax - but we knew that and did not expect anything else. We stayed for six nights. Maybe four or five days was enough, but we enjoyed it all. We were two adults and one 2-year-old boy, the bungalow fitted us.
This island is worth visiting. I think a 2 night staying is what is needed. Bungalows are simple but you have what you need and nice toiletries. Pool is nice and views are stunning. Peacocks everywhere. We didn’t go around the island but you can easily walk around it. The food and drinks are quite good. They try to be environment friendly and it’s nice. Staff speaks little English; they are very kind. You can see some trash here and there on the corners, behind the kitchen and outside the area of the bungalows. Worth it investing some time and training to keep it better cleaned as the place is really a gem.
We left for Munnork from Rayong Centara Q hotel. Excellnt hotel. Just a little ride with the hotel transportation to the peer. The boat leaves everyday 1:00PM. We left all our bottles at the Munnork office at the peer. Everything you need you get from the island. After about one hour boat trip we arrived on this beautifu white sand island. We had a beach front bungalow. Double sinks. Inside and outside showers. Nice terrace with the view to the sea and where you could enjoy the sounds of the waves. Many kinds of salas around the resort.and we also found perfect places for our own hammocks. Had our own ”private” beach with souch an easy access to the water. Beds where excellent. And rooms were kept really tidy and cleaning was done everyday while we had breakfast. Had a walk around the island. Reminded us how good it is that the resort has it’s strict rules. Food, drinks everything was good. The prices were ok considering how everything has to be brought to and from the island. The complimentary drinking water was suberb!!! The breakfast was ok. Maybe fruits could be included. Missing them after four mornings. The best was the brilliant staff and the director of the resort Nuk. Kap un kaa everybody from all of us! The ride back to Centara Q hotel was well organized by Nuk. She took a photo of us and the driver found us easily. We’ll be back.…
