At db Seabank Resort & Spa, the service garners high praise, with staff lauded for their exceptional attention to guests' needs, enhancing the overall experience. While the hotel's atmosphere is vibrant with entertainment options, some guests find it repetitively noisy. The comprehensive amenities, including the beachfront locale and family-friendly features, are widely appreciated, although opinions on room refurbishments and the value proposition vary. Cleanliness is generally celebrated; however, noise disturbances and renovation work have been noted as detractors from the tranquil setting.

Recently returned from a weeks stay in DB Seabank. We had a lovely room with a sea view that was cleaned every day and spotless. It was great being able to get a late breakfast until 11.30am. Staff were friendly across the resort. There is an adults only section of the pool area which was nice and slightly quieter than the main pool although you can still hear everything, the adults only pool had a swim up bar which was great, however the pool was so cold we only used it once. The hotel is in a great location for public transport and visiting other areas of Malta with a bus stop right across the road. The hotel itself has car hire on site which was a big benefit for us not having to leave the hotel to collect the car for a day trip (highly recommend and this should definitely be advertised more as I only happened across the information on Google).
There is a beach across the road (sunbeds at a charge).
Our favourite meal was in Salia as we felt like we were actually eating out in a restaurant rather than buffet as even in the restaurants you have to book, most are still buffet and you have to serve yourself food and drinks.

There were a few things we would suggest/disliked such as it would be really helpful to be given a map of hotel on arrival (it took us a while to realise where all restaurants are etc). You have to pay for ice cream during the day. The Aircon in the room itself was very loud and didn’t seem to shut off once it reached a temperature. We found the selection of drinks available very limited compared to other resorts we have stayed in (e.g limited cocktails with very repetitive ingredients). You pay a refundable cash deposit to secure the use of a towel for the pool side at €10 per towel. You can only book each themed restaurant once and there is no alternative for lunch every day, just the same buffet with very similar food options (we ended up eating outside the resort a few times and there are some great restaurants within walking distance).

As a couple with no children travelling together, we would not return, however for families I can see this being a great option.

Dear Guest, Thanks for sharing your detailed feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, including the sea view room and late breakfasts. It's great to hear our team was friendly, and you liked the adults-only swim-up bar, even if the pool was a bit chilly for you. The location is indeed convenient, with public transport right across the road, and I'm pleased to hear that on-site car hire was useful for you. Thanks for highlighting Salia as a dining favourite—it's nice when a meal stands out so positively. I appreciate the suggestions you mentioned. A map on arrival and clearer information on the car hire are valuable insights that can help improve our guest experience. I'm sorry if the air conditioning and limited drink options were bothersome during your stay. Your input on these aspects is crucial for us to consider as we seek to enhance our services. Concerning the themed restaurants, while our current policy allows for limited bookings, I understand how that might not always fit everyone's plans. I'm sorry to hear our dining variety didn't fully meet your expectations. For couples without children, our hotel might not always be the ideal fit, but your observations further assist us in tailoring our offerings to better suit different guest needs. Additionally, for those considering staying with us in the future, booking directly through our website offers benefits like room upgrades and more, subject to availability. Thank you again for taking the time to review, and while we might not have been the perfect match for you, I'm grateful for your candour and insights. Wishing you the best in your future travels. Warm regards, Marion Spiteri Guest Relations Manager at db Seabank Resort + Spa

At first we wasn’t sure if we liked it but from the 2nd day we settled in well.
General hotel - it’s very big. Huge main swimming pool, a swim up adults only pool, children’s pool and a smaller pool. Plenty of sun loungers. We set up on the artificial turf area which are terraced over the main pool, they were quieter and you can spread out without someone sitting on top of you and avoid smokers, they don’t take any notice of the non smoking areas.
Rooms - we had a room overlooking the beach with the road inbetween. This time of year it was ok to shut the door at night so we weren’t disturbed by road noise, not so sure about in the height of summer. The air con seemed a bit hit and miss, says it only works when it detects movement in the room. Again it wasn’t that hot so didn’t test this out.
Big disappointment was the television channels-only one English Channel which was France news, no BBC news 24 or any other English Channel. That needs to be sorted.
Room cleaned very well each day.
Restaurants-we managed to book the orient, Lebanese, and the Salia. I downloaded the app before we left home, and I managed to book the Lebanese ok but the orient and the Brazilian (more of which later) we had to sort out when we arrived. The receptionist said you can’t book restaurants until you check in but I did do one before so worth having a look.
The Salia, well that was like pulling teeth out. The receptionist said it was booked until Monday and you can’t book that till the Friday. Well by chance I looked Thursday morning and there were Monday slots available.
The food in all restaurants including the Coral was amazing. Every dish cooked very well with individual taste.
The Brazilian was in fact the pool restaurant turned into the Brazilian in the evening, like a canteen and some dishes outside. So we went in, was pushed out by a very abrupt waitress as we dared to turn up 10 minutes too early so we decided to give it a miss and go back to the Coral.
Drinks - wine very disappointing. Red wine very bland no taste.
A few desks selling trips and photographs. The photographer was very tedious as every day came out to the pool selling and one other trip saleswoman.
The adult only bar after 6.30pm should consider having nibbles, olives etc that would have been a good touch.
The staff were in the main, with a couple of exceptions, were moody.
Lastly the all inclusive plus malarkey-not sure it justifies an extra of nearly £350 per couple for a week. We went to have a look, the room which looks like it’s cut into the rock smelt of damp wet toilets, wouldn’t want to eat breakfast there. Then there’s the day guests which does fill the hotel up. So not sure how this business model works? Appreciate it needs to make money but how about charging everyone an extra £100 so everyone can experience good quality wine and more exclusively in the hotel that they have booked for their holiday?
Overall it was a good holiday for us.

Hi TREEJAS, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. I'm glad to hear that you settled in after the second day and found our pools to be spacious and varied. It’s great that you enjoyed the quieter spots by the main pool on the artificial turf. Regarding the room and road noise, your concern about summer is noted. We’ll look into improving the air conditioning system and television channel options. I’ll make sure this is passed on to our maintenance and media teams. I'm happy you enjoyed dining at the Orient, Lebanese, and Salia. Your feedback about booking and restaurant availability is helpful. It's something we’ll work on making smoother for our guests. The delicious food at Coral and other restaurants brought a smile to my face. I’ll pass on your kind words to our chefs. I apologise for the unfriendly service at the Brazilian pool restaurant and the quality of the wine. These issues fall below our standard and will be addressed. Your suggestion for nibbles at the adult-only bar after 6:30 pm is a great idea, and I’ll look into it. I also appreciate your thoughts on the all-inclusive plus experience. Your feedback is valuable as it helps us evaluate and improve our offerings. Overall, I'm pleased you had a good holiday with us. Thanks again for your thoughtful review, and we hope to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future. Best regards, Marion Spiteri, Guest Relations Manager at db Seabank Resort + Spa

Returned for our second stay at DB seabank and already looking forward to booking again for next year. Stayed for 2 weeks at the start of august.
Had a fabulous holiday. Staff are all amazing and lots go the extra mile. Leon in particular went the extra mile for our family and really is someone who managers should treasure. Other staff members we would also like to mention are Jonathan, China, Sujan and Thilini. Staff work extremely hard please tip them.

Brazilian restaurant- we found the portions small and waiting for the next lot of meat took some time but staff very friendly and worked hard just seemed it couldn’t be cooked quick enough.

Salina - amazing! Get booked in quick.

Coral - amazing - really impressed with the choice and quality of food. Only thing I would say is that last year they had beans available at every meal for kids but not as often this year. Personally I would recommend they bring the beans at every meal back as I struggle to get any fruit or veg into my kids but beans are a hit.

Levant - lovely food

Jungle - basic and not much choice but the decor and theme of it is great and worth going just for that.

Orient - we didn’t go so can’t comment but looked good from what we saw.

Pools - lovely and big lots of sunbeds. Unfortunately not all children are watched at the kids pool and were jumping in in dangerous spots but that’s not the hotels fault. We did find the pools very warm in the afternoons which meant it was hard to cool off. Not sure anything can be done about that but worth noting.

Rooms - clean and just what you need.

Evening entertainment- went a couple of nights for the kids disco and the kids loved it but is very loud.

Memories photography- a company in the hotel lobby - when on the sunbeds they will ask you daily about booking with them. We did use them last year and they were okay and got some nice photos but unfortunately staff have changed since. The large man that sits at the desk all day was very rude and pushy when it came to buying the photos, tried charging us double what we paid last year so we ended up walking away and took our own ones. So don’t bother with them just do your own in the same location they use. I believe they are a separate company to the hotel so this does not reflect on the hotel itself just a warning for other guests and hopefully the managers will note this and get the staff there changed.

Dear Guest, (Sorry, I would’ve used your real name, but your review only shows natasha5252) Many thanks for your detailed review and for coming back for a second stay with us. I’m glad you had another fabulous holiday and are already planning your next visit. Our staff, especially Leon, Jonathan, China, Sujan, and Thilini, will be pleased to hear your praise. They work hard to make every guest's stay special. I’m sorry to hear you found the portions at the Brazilian restaurant a bit small; we’ll look into this. Great to know that you enjoyed Salina, Coral, and Levant. I’ll pass on your feedback about the beans to our team; it’s important to us that kids enjoy their meals too. Happy you liked the pools and evening entertainment as well. Our team will take note of your comments about pool safety and coolness in the afternoon. Regarding the photography service, I appreciate your feedback. As they are independent from the hotel, we will pass on your concerns to them for improvement. Looking forward to welcoming you back for your 3rd visit. Have a lovely day! Best wishes, Marion Spiteri Guest Relations Manager at db Seabank Resort & Spa

Just returned from a week at this hotel. We got married here in 2017 and unfortunately the hotel seems to have gone downhill since. This is our 3rd time in Malta and second time at the Seabank.

This was our first family holiday abroad with our 1 year old. Upon arrival around midday, we were told our room wouldn’t be ready until 3pm. This was fine as we went into the main restaurant for lunch and had a look around until the room was ready. Thankfully the room was ready early and we were able to get sorted and enjoy what was left of the day. There was also a baby change room available if needed. In my opinion the whole arrival and room not being ready seemed quite disjointed considering it was a package holiday.

The food throughout the week was themed but this was limited and the other food was the same each night. We were able to get a table easily, however quite a few of the high chairs had broken straps which isn’t ideal when your child tries climbing out. Some of the staff seemed like they did not want to be there and moved us 2/3 times from different tables, we always seemed to end up in the far corner of the restaurant along with other families. It sometimes felt like we were just put out the way.

The themed restaurants were mostly fully booked when we arrived and we only managed to book the Brazilian. When we arrived for our table, we had booked 2 rooms together, however the manager only had 1 room on the sheet and turned half of our party away. The food was well overcooked and we left before the meal was finished and just went to the main restaurant instead.

We were a party of 6 with two 1 year olds. 5 out of 6 of us ended up with sickness and diorreha throughout the week, from reading other reviews this is not an isolated incident and is quite concerning. Our 1 year old is still suffering with her stomach since returning home.

There was some positives however, the entertainment albeit kids disco being the same each night was fine and all the kids seemed to love it.

We had a family room on the ground floor, the view wasn’t great but it was very quiet and spacious. There is a new aircon system in place which is eco and only comes on when motion activated.

The cleaning staff were very friendly and our room was cleaned daily albeit the floor was still quite dirty.

There are lots of sunbeds available if needed, the pool was cold so we waited until the afternoon for it to heat slightly. There is a kids pool up the top end of the hotel which has a couple of slides. The pool isn’t massive but does what it needs for little ones.

The beach is opposite the hotel, although it’s a main road there are traffic lights slightly further up and we never had any issues getting to the beach.

Overall we had a good holiday, but if and when we return we will look at booking elsewhere as this hotel no longer seems good for value for money as it once was.

Dear ryanjT84181R, We’re delighted to hear that your first holiday with your little one was an enjoyable experience, and that you found the check-in process efficient and the staff friendly. It’s great to know that you appreciated the variety of food in our main buffet restaurant and the convenience of self-serve drinks. Your feedback regarding the temperature of the food, especially breakfast items, is noted and we will work on improving this aspect. We’re pleased you found the pool area well-maintained with plenty of sunbeds available, and that the designated smoking areas contributed to a comfortable environment. Your kind words about our housekeeping and pool cleaning staff are greatly appreciated, and we’re glad that Adrian and Alba made a positive impact on your stay. We’re happy that you noticed our efforts towards sustainability with the elimination of straws and the provision of water jugs and machines. However, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the air conditioning not being operational during your stay. Your feedback is important, and we will address this to ensure a more comfortable environment for our guests in the future. Thank you again for your review, and we hope to welcome you and your family back to our hotel soon. Warm regards, Marion Spiteri Guest Relations Manager

Having just spent a week in Malta with my family, we encountered several issues with both the hotel and the island itself that will likely prevent us from returning.

Firstly, regarding the hotel: while the rooms were acceptable, they were far from ideal. Previous reviews had mentioned ongoing construction, and we found this to be true. The hallways were unfinished, and one day our door wouldn’t shut properly. A handyman came and forcibly moved the problematic bracket with a screwdriver. Housekeeping was rushed and often didn’t clean our room until late afternoon, and the cleaning quality was subpar.

The most significant problem was the lack of air conditioning on the 5th floor. When I inquired at reception, I was told the hotel was in "winter mode," so the air conditioning was turned off, despite daily temperatures exceeding 25 degrees Celsius, sometimes reaching nearly 30. This made our room unbearably hot, especially at night, making it difficult for our 16-month-old baby to sleep. Leaving the balcony door open resulted in mosquito bites. The fan we were given only circulated warm air, offering little relief.

The food at the main restaurant was mediocre, although the two specialty restaurants were much better, but they required reservations. The drinks were disappointing as well; a beer from the bar was only about a third of a pint, so many guests were ordering multiple drinks at once. Additionally, the bar area near the pool was off-limits for us because the designated smoking area was right outside, which was unpleasant.

Another major issue is the hotel's location. It is situated next to two main roads, and I was unprepared for the severe traffic problems in Malta. The constant noise from modified cars and motorbikes with loud exhausts racing up and down the roads was far from relaxing, especially when trying to sleep at night, also making sure our baby is not affected by the noise. If you are seeking a quiet hotel, this one is not suitable.

Overall, the combination of hotel issues and the island’s traffic problems means we are unlikely to visit Malta again.

We picked this hotel due to the room type available. Travelling with two teenagers we wanted them to have their own adjoining room and own beds. The rooms weee great and kept clean and tidy.

However….
- Coral buffet restaurant - you often had to queue for quite a while to get your hot food, there was not enough staff to clear and clean tables, and provide cutlery. On a number of occasions I got the cleaning spray and towel to clean them myself. Food was generally ok.
-food in general was ok. Salia (if you can get it booked) was the best out of the bookable ones. Most you had to get your own drink. Service was not great in any of them. Hotel sell ice creams for 5 euros by the pool. Very pricey .You can get snacks in Laguna restaurant mid afternoon but can’t take food outside.
- Pool- very busy and over crowded. No life guard. Plenty of shade and sun loungers available. Lots of inflatables which didn’t help when it was so crowded. Very slippery floor and many wasps
- Pool bar- often a long queue to get a drink. One draft tap for still water and hardly ever any cups available so take your own water bottle. Cups for the self service soda were not very clean.
-Adult pool bar- used the bar when the pool bar was very busy and was told to not use this if not in the adult pool by barman who was very busy on his own. Did mention this to reception staff but no response.
-Day tickets- weekends were even busier by the pool and buffet restaurants due to an increase in day visitors
-Beach- 2 mins across the road. Shallow water. 6 euros for a sunbed. Very busy but it was August. 10 euros for aqua inflatables for 1hr. Well worth it.
- activities for 14 & 11 year old did not keep them occupied
- hop on off tourist bus. Do not book this. Nearly 100 euros for four of us. 2 hrs to get to Valletta and 2 hours back and not much time in the city as need to get last bus back. Completely mis sold this by lady at desk. Get a taxi or public bus.
- some restaurants a short walk from hotel. One80 was brilliant and the ice cream parlour was nice and cheaper than ice creams on a stick in hotel.

Verdict……would not stay here again.

Dear Guest, (Sorry, I would’ve used your real name, but your review only shows ohmama2010) Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you found our family rooms to be comfortable and well-maintained. Having a suitable space for families travelling with teenagers is something we take pride in. However, we are sorry to learn about the various challenges you faced during your stay. We understand your frustration with the wait times and overall service quality at the Coral buffet restaurant. It’s distressing to know that you found it necessary to clean the tables yourself. We will make sure to address this with our restaurant management for immediate improvement. Your feedback regarding the pool area, pool bar, and adult pool bar is invaluable. We strive to provide a relaxing and enjoyable environment for all our guests. It's clear from your comments that we fell short during your stay, especially concerning the availability of cups and the service at the pool bars. We will review these points with our team to ensure better efficiency and cleanliness. We also appreciate your comments about the activities for teenagers and the hop-on-hop-off bus service. We regret that the activities did not meet your expectations and that the bus service was not as advertised. We will communicate this feedback to our activity coordinators and the partner service providers to improve future guests' experiences. We’re happy you enjoyed your time at Salia and found some nearby restaurants that you liked. However, we are deeply sorry that your overall impression of our hotel was not positive, and we will pass on all your detailed feedback to our management team for thorough review and necessary actions. We apologise for any inconvenience you faced and thank you for helping us identify areas in need of improvement. We genuinely hope you will reconsider and give us another chance to provide you with the excellent experience you deserve. After a delayed flight with Air Malta and a long wait for our luggage, we arrived at the hotel at 2am. Check in went fairly smoothly, but no offer whatsoever about the options for getting something to eat.

We had a family room with a pool view on the first floor.
The room is spacious but very basic and already shows several defects and wear and tear.
Bathroom with 1 sink, for a family room you expect 2 and a moderately functioning shower. Shampoo - soap in dispensers, otherwise no extras (conditioner/toothpaste shaving set/...).
There is a fridge, safe and kettle. Tea and instant coffee were available on arrival, but were not replenished every day.
Balcony is spacious, but given that you have the 1st floor and part of the roof of the dome/bar in front of you, this view is broken.
Air conditioning works well, but makes quite a bit of noise. Beds are of poor quality. The 2 separate beds in the children's room are of very poor quality.
The room is cleaned sufficiently.
Breakfast/lunch/dinner is of good quality and quantity. The dining room can sometimes be very busy and dishes are not always replenished on time. It is almost always a matter of queuing at the coffee and soft drink machines.
Specialty restaurants that we were able to book were L-orjent, El Rodizio and Levant, Salia was no longer bookable. We were not interested in The Jungle.
Of the three, Levant was by far the best.
Swimming pools are okay, there is always room even though the towel liners are active here early. They are quite cold.
Entertainment is weak.
Hotel is remote, bus stop in front of the door.
Traffic in Malta is very busy and there are many traffic jams. This combined with the many stops of the bus means that to get somewhere (Valetta, Mdina, etc.) you have to spend a very long time on the bus and it is always delayed. Buses are cheap at €2/2 hours/person.
We used Bolt a few times and it went very well.
Check-out is at 11:00 am. We had our transfer at 12:30 p.m., but when we asked if we could keep our room until 12 p.m., this was not possible. It was possible to pay, but €15 for that one hour is ridiculous.
Since we only checked in at 2am on the first day and therefore did not consume anything in the hotel (food, drinks, facilities, etc.), I thought it was a shame that the one hour was not possible.
For a hotel built in 2012, there are several defects and wear and tear in the room and hotel in general, which indicates a lack of continuous maintenance work.
We will not choose this hotel again on our next visit to Malta.

My Wife and myself stayed here half board in March, we arrived at 8pm in the evening and booked in straight away the lady on reception was so helpful and full of information that we needed, The dinning hall was open till 930pm so had plenty of time to find our room and then get our evening meal. The rooms were of a great size bath and shower large double bed and a balcony looking out over the beach, there was also a room safe and mini fridge. the hotel was spotless with cleaning going on all day inside and out, there was a great selection of food at every meal time and soft drinks wine and beer all on tap at no extra charge. there was also 5 other restaurants in the hotel you could go and eat in all you had to do was book a table on the app or down by reception. All the staff were so friendly and polite always saying hello to everyone they saw, asked for an extra floor fan and was in the room in a matter of hours, there is a fully stacked shop on the lower floor which sells weekly bus passes for 25 euros this allows you travel on all the buses and any route there is on Malta north or south and on the island of Gozo as well. would highly recommend this hotel and would go back again this time for 2 weeks

Stayed here for 2 weeks over Xmas and New Year great to miss the freezing temps back in the UK

The hotel is situated in Mellieha bay which is quieter and less developed than the main resorts in Malta

Our room was kept clean and sheets changed regularly could not fault the standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel

The main restaurant provides plenty of choice, albeit sometimes some items were lukewarm (soup) feels a bit like a cafeteria when really busy but the buffets were great at Xmas etc so much choice

The facilities are in abundance with indoor and outdoor pools, spent a lot of time in both sauna and steam room which were great (Hot) used the ten pin bowling a couple of times which was great fun

We used the other restaurants have to say l’Orient was not brilliant but Salia was amazing….

There was plenty of entertainment in the Dome ie live bands etc over Xmas and New Year with a lively but but nice family atmosphere

The staff worked tirelessly and a big shout out to all of them… Thank you for looking after us

We met in with quite a lot of returning customers from the uk always a good sign the hotel is getting it right….

If your 1st time visitors to Malta the fort at Mdina is an absolute must it’s very busy but good atmosphere
Again GoZo is a must the ferry is just along the road from the Hotel

Everywhere is accessible by public transport, buy a Tallinja card gives you unlimited bus travel for 7 days

Bus stops right at the hotel however be mindful the buses can be very full and queues are not respected

If your pockets are reasonably deep take a taxi tour you can see and go to places in comfort ours was 200 euro for 3 of us for 5 hours

The hotel has a truly international clientele

Had a great holiday, would return in a heartbeat…,

This is a massive hotel, and I naively hadn’t considered the buffet restaurant with 1500+ people in it, we were a couple with our adult daughter hoping for a hassle free week of early sun, we found it far too crazy.
Many visitors enjoyed the unlimited food and drink and let their children run riot, fingers in desserts at the buffet wasn’t uncommon and frankly queuing for coffee at breakfast wasn’t fun.
The staff do an amazing job keeping the hotel spotless and all were friendly, the location opposite the beach is good but the sun beds etc aren’t part of the hotel and cost €15 for 2 beds and an umbrella.
We unfortunately suffered far too many niggles, room still had all the balcony furniture stacked inside, smelly bathroom and unclean floor on arrival, then (not hotel fault) but the highways started work at 3am digging up the road so no sleep that night, no rooms had AC as the hotel consider it still winter season this made it uncomfortable to sleep as it was very hot, they offered a fan but no substitute for AC.
But for us the most annoying part was that our floor was being refurnished so every day you had to walk through a building site and on the day they wanted to work on your room there we instructions to pack your belongs in the wardrobe to avoid them being covered with dust! and be out of your room by 9am, hardly a relaxing holiday vibe. We stayed first week in May and didn’t expect or know in advance of building work.
They have attempted to offer some separation, there’s an adult pool area and section of the dining room, although you still have to run the gauntlet of actually getting your food.
I’m sure for families this is a great hotel just not for us I’m afraid.

Dear Jill S, Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with us. We're sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you encountered several issues during your visit. We understand that the large size of our hotel and the busy buffet restaurant can be overwhelming, especially for those seeking a more peaceful vacation. We appreciate your kind words about our staff and their efforts to keep the hotel spotless and provide friendly service. We regret that you were not informed about the refurbishment work in advance and understand how this impacted your holiday experience. Your feedback is valuable, and we will take it into consideration to improve our services and guest communication. We hope you were still able to enjoy some aspects of your stay, such as our location near the beach and the adult pool area. Should you decide to give us another chance in the future, we would be delighted to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Thank you once again for your feedback. You need to upgrade to all-inclusive to be able to use alternative restaurants. Only Coral restaurant for half-board+. Also, you can only take restaurant drinks out of restaurant on all-inclusive, so on half-board plus, you are required to consume drinks only in the restaurant. I hope this is if assistance!
