The weather was not good when we visited. Returning to the Luna was a haven. Ozzie’s restaurant just down the road was perfect and on returning to the luna there would often be music entertainment to enjoy. The buffet breakfast was excellent. As it was November it wasn’t too busy - not sure how it would be in the height of summer. The beach is just a walk down the road. We used the local bus service, which we would recommend.
This is our last night of a week B+B here at Luna. The hotel is immaculate, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the breakfast is superb. The Sky bar and pool on the top floor are stunning and the food there is gorgeous. There are 2 pools on the roof with jaccuzzi style bubbles as well as a main family pool downstairs. We had a standard room which was large and comfortable. The Don Tonino lounge bar does a great "cocktail of the day" for 5 euro as well as doubles at 4 euro with a mixer. There are a few really good restaurants nearby. Our favourite was Zeffarino. We took a trip to the island of Gozo and would highly recommend this as it's beautiful.
From Luna Holiday Complex you easily reach the nearby sand beach by feet. To be honest, it is not the best beach on island, but when not planning to explore the island, one of the options. I definitely recommend to explore the island, at least the Paradise beach and Ghajn Tuffieha are the must. Surprisingly the local (airconditioned!) buses are operating quite often and when you buy the bus card at the reception, quite cheap as well (one ride 2 Euros – even to the capital Valetta). If you like the fresh local fish from locals, I recommend the Riviera Blue restaurant. But on the way from hotel direction Mellieha beach, there are many good (but sometimes overpriced) restaurants. I recommend to book the hotel directly, they offer special services (breakfast and wifi) for better price than usual accommodation platforms. The hotel consists of serviced apartments, everything was at hand there, even the market at the back of the hotel. We had a quite new apartment, the only problem was it faced to the hotel courtyard, when the evening program with live music took place, so it was quite noisy there (even in the morning when the chairs has been prepared for breakfast). Breakfast is the strong side of the hotel services, very varied and tasty. The waiters smiled at us, were very helpful. The highlight of the hotel is the roof top bar and restaurant with nice pool and stunning views on the Mellieha bay and sunsets. Nice to have a drink in the evening there! What is really the weak point of the hotel is the very slow or very often even non-functioning wifi. We did not expect this since today it is natural thing in hotel complexes. Unfit for Instagram freaks……
We have booked direct with the hotel and the response with emails was fast and very efficient. When we arrived they gave us an upgrade free of charge because we need it a flat and there was a small misunderstanding from our side but they have handled the situation very professionally. There breakfast is very good with big verity to chose from, unfortunately we visited in November and we couldn't make the full use of the roof pool but the indoor pool was good for my kids. We will definitely come back
Fantastic place, great amenities, fab location with the beautiful Mellieha and ghadira bay just a stones throw away!! The bus services are regular and the ferry to Gozo is a ten minute bus ride away. Loved it
