Detailed Reviews
After having our trip to Magnolia Natura cancelled twice because of the pandemic, we were delighted to finally arrive for our seven night stay and the entire holiday has been faultless from start to finish. We were collected from the airport ( the transit through Las Palmas airport was very swift and uncomplicated) and within 30 minutes we were checked into our resort and enjoying a crisp gin and tonic in the bar! We were warmly welcomed by Ray and Chris and they made us feel at home straight away.. All of the staff here are very friendly and they can't do enough to ensure your stay is just how you want it. Our bungalow (306) was the perfect location to dip in and out of the salt water swimming pool and a bubbling hot tub was a lovely way to relax after sunbathing. Our bungalow was very well appointed and it was cleaned every day. The cleaning staff were clearly happy in their work and always has time for a chat. We had breakfast here every day and we can't fault the selection or quality of the food. We only had dinner in the restaurant once but it was excellent. Magnolia is located in a very quiet part of the island and it is very tranquil and peaceful. We met some lovely people and we could not been made more welcome here. We will be going back as soon as possible!

It was our first stay at a naturist hotel and we were impressed by its comfort and cleanliness. The complex appeared well maintained and the staff, in our experience were especially friendly and helpful. Indeed the overall ambience was warm and welcoming, many guests returning over many years and meeting up with old friends and making new ones. We did not pre-pay for food but still tended to have breakfast and dinner most days as we found it varied and delicious with excellent service. The happy hour provided a popular interlude especially each Wednesday when Eric entertained us all by singing from his multi-lingual song list. The lack of available sunbeds was frustrating at times but overall we had a great time.

This was our first time at Magnolias Natura, and was not disappointed.
We were running late due to flight delay and although the restaurant takes last orders at 8pm when we arrived at 8:30ish Chris had a meal and drinks waiting for us
so we were very impressed by the service and food quality.
Our Bungalow was no 307 opposite the pool and restaurant which was a lovely outlook and handy for the pool. All the staff , Chris Immy. Olav and Nico along with all the cleaners were very helpful and could not do enough for us.
The complete complex is immaculately clean through out, We would have liked to have seen maybe a midweek singer / guitarist with a themed meal but having said said that we made some great friends and had a lovely stay, would definitely return.

We have just had a lovely week in Gran Canaria based at Magnolias Natura. With a hire car we had time to explore the spectacular centre of the island and find a couple of smaller naturist bays. We did the dunes just once, because the pool at the apartments was so perfect for daytime rest, reading, getting a tan, or keeping shaded. The pool is salted rather than chlorine cleaned making it wonderful just to float in, but is also a good length for swimming. There's even a bubbling jacuzzi to relax in. We self catered buying from the local supermarket (Faro 2 about 15 mins walk) but enjoyed the Magnolias lunch menu and a naughty lunchtime pint.
This is our second time of staying. The last visit was a few years ago on the edge of the season and it felt quiet and tranquil. This time there was a little more of an August party vibe from the guests and so, if you want the quietest stay possible, I would make two recommendations:
a) Try and ask for an apartment which is far from the pool, because this visit a group of holidaymakers chose to stay drinking and talking well into the night. [I am afraid I lost my temper at 2am because they were directly under our window]
b) I was surprised at how many of the naturist guests smoked around the pool. If you are a non-smoker it might be worth asking the owners whether they could keep part of the lounge area as non-smoking. Again having an apartment away from the pool will allow you to have your windows open, which we couldn't do when the smokers were directly beside our apartment.
These are two practical tips to help make your stay as peaceful as possible.
Despite the many steps which we had to take to get the right travel and health check paperwork in this strange covid time, it all worked very smoothly and the welcome from the resident management and bar/catering team was lovely.
Enjoy your visit
I'd love to return in the rainy season (which is only a couple of days in October) and see how the landscape changes with the rain.

I hate holidays, especially hot ones and I only go on them to keep the wife happy. Thanks to the brilliant staff this one was less of a chore. The rooms are very comfortable with working air-conditioning and the menu is varied and should have something for most people. The most memorable aspect though is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. As much as I hate holidays we will be back.

This is a real ‘find’ for naturists. It’s a very quiet complex at the end of a cul de sac. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. My bungalow had a small terrace and was simply but comfortably furnished and there was always plenty of hot water. The air con in the bedroom was very efficient. I had breakfast each morning which was fine but I did my own meal at night. The closest supermarket was small and expensive but the larger one at Faro2 was a manageable walk. The pool and hot tub were excellent. The housekeeping staff were brilliant - so friendly and happy. On Wednesday afternoon they had live entertainment and fun bingo for those who wished to partake. It was great fun. I’d certainly recommend this resort.

We were lucky to get a bungalow at such short notice. We were met with a very warm welcome from Sergio, welcoming us home. The bungalows were as clean as ever, kept spotless by Lydia and Norma who were as cheerful and happy in there work as always, they had a warm welcome for us as well. Shame some of the staff seem to have an attitude of you always return so why should we go out of our way to make your stay special, hence the average score. We always relax and unwind here, met old friends and made new ones. Shame the day we left the water was turned off, we never saw the notice posted on the blackboard. Maybe the management should have provided bottle water for the guest to use while the water was off.

Response from Jason Hatherill, Owner at Magnolias Natura
Responded Mar 7, 2020
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that your stay was only satisfactory. I have met with the responsible staff to highlight your concerns. I am extremely sorry about the disruption to the water supply. This was an emergency and, as you suggest, our way of dealing with this was not satisfactory. Procedures have now been put in place to deal with these issues more effectively on the rare occasions that they do occur. May I thank you once again for engaging with me via email. Regards Jason Hatherill Co-owner & Director - Mareu Hoteles

Just returned from a very relaxed 2 week covid safe stay at the beautiful clean and safe Magnolias Natura. First and foremost I must talk about Ray, a Ray of light, friendly, caring, helpful, professional and probably of the most hilarious people we have ever met. He is a natural with the customers. Nothing is too much trouble for him. He is an asset to MN. Don't ever leave Ray !!! The whole place is cleaned daily to a beautiful standard. All the staff are working really hard and going above and beyond in such hard times and deserve recognition for their customer service skills. 👏 👏 food is served fresh and hot. Menu has something for everyone. Only downside this time is the 9am sunbed dash. Sad that people put towels out and disappear for the day. Why ??? Maybe a little policing of this might help with the situation. Apart from that no negatives at all.
We will be back. !!!

If I could give this beautiful oasis 6 stars, I would.
Exceptional bar staff - Eric, Mark, Olaf, Chris, Colin. Really good quality food and bar drinks.
Super pool. Other guests were friendly but not up in your face.
Beds were comfy and huge. Really clean nice apartment. Enjoyed sitting on our own private verandah with table/chairs, sunbeds.
The chefs (Maria and another guy) made great lunch and evening meals. Good selection and super quality.
Evening meals you booked in for that day and chose what you wanted from a reasonable selection. Had around 3 eve meals there. All very nicely presented and delicious. Good value.
Seriously cannot wait to return.

All the staff were excellent. They were polite, always willing to help and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Nico, Olaf, Imma, Colin & Chris for a lovely holiday.
Breakfast was invariably good with a wide range of choice. Dinners were also well presented and the soups were delicious. Our room was well equipped and our beds were comfortable. The whole complex was kept scrupulously clean and the chamber maids were a delight!
However, it is unfortunate that in such a relaxing environment loud music was played non stop in the bar so could be heard anywhere around the pool. Some music is fine but occasional periods of quieter music or even none would have been appreciated to enable us and other guests to enjoy some peace and quiet. We suggest the staff consider this.
Unfortunately, and obviously beyond the control of everyone involved, the weather was overcast, cloudy and not as sunny as we had anticipated for much of our holiday. Evenings tended to be particularly chilly. In fact we never needed to use the air conditioning in our room as it was not hot enough for it. This was disappointing as we had expected constant daily sunshine in June when we booked our holiday!

Thank you for your kind review above, I am glad that overall you enjoyed the Magnolias Natura experience. Thank you also for supporting our restaurant and bar both of which are a very important aspect of making the perfect environment that you describe. With regard to the music, I will discuss this with the team. Please do let one of the team know straight away if this is ever a problem in the future. One of us will be happy to fix this immediately for you. Yes, we all hoped for better weather in early June, this was very unusual. Thank you once again for your visit and we hope to see you again in the not too distant future. Jason Hatherill Owner - Magnolias Natura
