I had signed up for the one-way Oslo to Bergen Norway in a Nutshell trip. As it takes almost 12 hours, I decided to break my journey in Flam for one night. Tripadvisor helped me pick Fretheim Hotel and I did not regret it for one second. The online booking process was smooth. Though the amount was pre-authorised on my...

We couldn't decide between this hotel or the Flamsbrygga. The Flamsbrygga is right on the fjord. We chose this in the end because we had read about the giant ships that moor right next to the Flamsbrygga. It turns out that Flam is tiny so everything everything is 20 metres from the Fjord. Glad we chose this place as it...

This place won't disappoint you, wonderful location surrounded by Mountains , clean fresh rooms with a lovely outlook. Excellent breakfast and dinner in the on site restaurant. Motel has a large open entry plan, cathedral ceilings and lounge areas to sit and relax. Grounds are so well kept, terrific walks and close to the Flam railway and Ferry to do...

This hotel is situated perfectly on a fjord offering access to water tours of the spectacular scenery and railroad rides from sea level to 900 meters. But the decor is worth a special commendation. This time of year (October) is past the busy season so you pretty much have no wait for anything.

My wife and I stayed there for one night and it was a lovely experience. Check-in was friendly, efficient and quick. We then had drinks on the front patio as the sun went down - bliss! We also enjoyed exploring the older parts of the hotel - interesting! The next morning, we loved the breakfast - tasty! And, took the...

The hotel inside is beautiful. The lobby is grand and the Internet is stupid fast...in the lobby areas. In the room it barely reached and we were pretty close to the lobby in one of the "American rooms". The heat is iffy as it was either super hot or cold. Also the shower floods the entire bathroom. But don't let...

The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety of good food. Dinners are excellent too. The hotel sits in one of GH e prettiest places in world. The hotel has library that gives history of area plus the Fretheim Hotel is decorated to show the history. I recommend this hotel very highly.

Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms and very helpful staff. Situated at the mouth of the fiords and near the flamsbana unesco railway. The hotel offers a restaurant, both rather expensive but there are a few choices around the hotel. The hotel had plenty of toiletries, fluffy towels. One of the things we enjoyed the most was sitting in the lounge...

We stayed in the new wing of the hotel, so we didnt get to experience the historical part of the hotel. The hotel is located opposite the Flam Railway, we had a good corner room but it was looking out onto the parking lot, which was disappointing. The Flambrygga hotel has a better view if the fjord. The room is...

Your lodging options in Flam are pretty limited, and yes, this hotel gets a lot of tour groups. But they are not complacent. In fact, the very helpful staff went out of their way to give us an upgraded room (we didn't ask). They also let us do our laundry for free and check out late. We ate in the...
