The place is nicely located and offers you a perfect place for different sightseeings in the area. You have to reserve if you want a cabin or room in the youth hostel. We had not so we had to pack out our emergency tent. In a tent its fairly loud from the raod passing close to the camping. If its raining, as it was this day, then there is not much shelted room on the camping but the pub and restaurant 150 m away is upon until 22:00.

A friend and I stayed in the hostel for 3 nights at the end of the tourist season. The staff were very friendly and helpful and upgraded our room at no extra cost as they had the availability at the time. Hostel is very clean, economical and with a lovely homely atmosphere. Very conveniently located - only minutes walk from the harbour and Flamsbana. Five stars overall, absolutely no niggles whatsoever!

This hostel is awesome! If I had found this place when I was backpacking years ago, I probably would have stayed for a month. It is in the most beautiful location and convenient to the train station and restaurants. The folks running the Flam hostel were lovely. It was clean, well equipped and a lot of thought had gone into the facilities. Wonderful views and an easy walk to the train station, boats, and everything. It's also great for families, even those with young children. The internet was fast and the coffee at reception was a nice way to start the day.

We booked a room with ensuite bathroom. Wifi work okay. Mattress sheet and bed sheet need to do by your own as practice by most of the hostels. Both sheets only given to you upon checked in. Maybe it would be good to just put the sheets on the bed in the room. No towel given. Shared kitchen was big enough to use by everyone. About 10min walk from train station.

The hostel is less than 10 minutes' walk away from the Flåm train station. We booked a family room for 6 bunk beds (1,380 NOK in total) and got upgraded to 2 x triple rooms instead. The rooms were clean and tidy, with a common living area, kitchen and shower facilities. Bed linens were included in our booking price, while towels + shower token cost an additional 20 NOK per set. The shower token will start a 6 minutes countdown timer for one to shower with hot water, before the hot water is cut off when the timer expires (you will be left with cold water then). Each room had a heater which kept it warm through the night. The grounds also had a lot of apple trees which were lovely.
