Standing against the «Annette & Lubin» wooded hill, this newly renovated family hotel enjoys a unique position on the main square in the center of the Spa thermal town, a two-minute walk from the funicular giving access to the Thermal Cure Center. It is noteworthy that the most beautiful motor racing track in the world, Spa-Francorchamps is only 9 km away. Hotel Cardinal is the oldest hotel in Spa and will blow its 100 candles in a few years. In its Art Deco style, you will enjoy a warm family welcome, a very comfortable accommodation, free WiFi access in the whole building and a lift leading to the upper floors. Pets are not allowed on the premises. All non-smoking rooms are equipped with a 32’’ flat screen television, free WiFi, telephone, radio alarm clock, writing desk, refrigerator and an en-suite bathroom with bath or shower, toilet, hair dryer, make-up mirror, towels and cosmetics.

Very nice place to have lunch, good menu and drinks choice, delicious food, fast service and friendly personnel. The restaurant is located in very city centre, so it's easy to find. I highly recommend it.

We arrived at the hotel and received a nice and warm welcome. Keeping in mind that it is a family hotel we were surprised to received such attention. They always try to do their best to help out. I had an issue to connect to the wifi with my laptop. I was surprised to get my problem solved by the daughter of the hotel ! She found out that it was a IP address issue on my laptop and this advice and solution helped me on my future hotel stay ! The breakfast was continental and everything that I wanted was there. Simply access to your room and main door with a Key card. My room was very clean and the beddings was so comfy ! Make sure that you request a room on the back side if you are looking for a "zero" noise stay as the front rooms will give you a beautiful view of the center of Spa you might hear a little bit of the city but it's not bothering at all ! They have a vending machine at decent price (to not say cheap).. I was impressed ! I really recommend this hotel for whoever wants to have an amazing stay in the heart of a beautiful city. 1minute away from the thermal spa, the casino, many restaurants,... I'll definitely go back there ! Such a nice city with nice people !

I recently stayed at the Hotel Cardinal this summer during a business trip. Now I do my fair share of travelling around the world staying in a variety of different hotels, but most of the time I don’t get around to writing a review on TripAdvisor because the hotel is uninspiring. The Hotel Cardinal is not one of those. I could write about its wonderful location, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms or even its great Wi-Fi coverage and internet speed, but other patrons have done justice to those features. What compels me to write this review is the staff and its owners. Maybe it’s because I mostly stay in well-known chain hotels with well-oiled services that when I come upon a welcoming family run hotel I get inspired. There wasn’t a single person I met at the Cardinal that wasn’t friendly, pleasant and professional, even though the hotel was full during my stay and they were all clearly busy. I especially appreciated the daily breakfast talks with one of the owners, chatting with me as if I was an old regular and had been coming there for years. For a seasoned traveler like myself, there’s nothing better.

Stayed at the Cardinal during the Spa 6 Hour motor race. My first stay here and I have to say that the hotel is lovely, the rooms are spacious, bathrooms clean and very functional. Breakfast is good, although I could do with more coffee! The decor may not be to everyone's taste but the quality of the fixtures and fittings are standing up well to the ravages of time. I would recommend the Cardinal to all!

Great view from the breakfast room on the main road where weekend events such as oldtimer rallies can be watched. Room windows have good noise isolation. Bus stop in front. Hotel design is a very nice individualistic combination of solid end 19th century architecture with recent illusionist wall paintings adapting the style of 18th century landscape painting.

Stayed here for the British GT round at Spa circuit and we arrived in the early hours and were checked in promptly with no fuss. The hotel is an odd mix of old and new, from the "hidden" marble staircase via the clean but dated bedrooms to the ultra-modern bathrooms. The rooms are perfectly adequate and as we were on the back of the hotel, we could leave the window open (there was no air-con but this is Northern Europe, not Spain). The bathroom seemed to have been overtaken by some sort of design-house! Looks good, lots of tiles but the large flat sink looks good but is useless for a proper wash and the great shower is spoiled but the lack of shower curtain or screen to contain the water. Staff were friendly and the continental breakfast was adequate. I can't comment on the cost as I didn't pay but the location was great as the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Would certain consider it if/when I return to Spa.

The hotel is perfectly located in the town the rooms and the breakfast are a little basic but for the price you can't complain the wifi worked well whilst there and some updating of bathrooms and televisions as happened since my last stay. The staff are helpful and friendly and it helps when the women on duty whilst there was also incredibly attractive.

This hotel has a brilliant location - right in the centre of town, on main street. But, apart from breakfast which is adequate the place unfortunately is very poor in most other departments. The rooms do not have have a fan never mind air conditioning. It was warm when I was there and in the nights it was quite stifling. My room had a slighted tilted floor - The first night I thought I had had a bit much to drink but then I realised it was the floor that was not level!! A little maintenance and some kind of circulation of air would put this hotel in a different place.

Hotel Cardinal is located perfectly right in the middle of a lovely leafy square in this great old town. Overall, this is a perfectly adequate place to stay for one or two nights during race meetings at the Spa, Francorchamps circuit which is located 10kms down the road. It is a clean, efficient hotel but do not expect any frills - it is more like a UK Travelodge let's say. The staff were very pleasant, but they do not man the desk at all times. The check-in was easy, the front door routine and where the garages are, were explained perfectly. The rooms were fine; but really quite dated. Let's just say I had not seen a 14" tv on a wall bracket for a few years! Bathroom was small (kneeling in the bath to shower, as there was not shower-curtain) but all clean and working, but do not expect any kettle, mini bar or hair-drier. I suppose as we stayed over the 24 hour race, they can charge a premium for their rooms, which is fine. But over €350 for 1 double and 1 family room is not brilliant value in my opinion. Beware; they also require a one third deposit on booking and full payment 2 weeks before arrival during race weekends. Great position though!
