The view & location are great but sadly the hotel is very much a has-been place: needs a full refurbishing face-lift and for what they charge as a supposed 4-stars hotel is shameful. We would give it a maximum of two stars. Apart from the entrance door and the reception desk of the Epoque, nothing else is worth it. The rooms/ bathroom are stuck in the 80s with the wallpaper peeling and cracks in the walls. As for the bathroom, not at all easy access and can be dangerous with nothing to grab on to. The Hotel boasts about its SPA and swimming pool. Now that we have been there, we are certain their pictures on their website must be photoshopped. In reality, both are poky dark and the pool is lit up with green light. We wonder why? Also, the smell of the chlorine is very strong and not pleasurable at all - we poked our heads in there and run a mile. The breakfast room was nice and large. Nevertheless, in these COVID times and with so many people staying at the hotel, the buffet area should be better organised to avoid people bumping into each other. This could be very easily implemented for there is no lack of space. Last but not least, for such a large hotel, their elevators are very slow and one was not functioning. No one thought to put a sign up on the elevator informing guests to avoid it! The experience of being stuck in there was not at all pleasant. We would never go back there and certainly not at their pricing. …
Not only are our room & view spectacular, but the staff gives excellent service! Adrian, our pool concierge, had our cabanas ready & waiting for us. Rayli took unsurpassed service! We NEVER had an empty glass all day! He ordered & brought our lunch very quickly. Vanessa, our concierge, read our minds & got us spa appointments & dinner reservations to our liking. We couldn’t be happier with the entire resort. Come here & truly vacation like royalty.
The view to the beach is what makes this hotel nice. The rest does not match the price. The furniture are old and used. The bathroom not in great shape. Renovation is needed. Therefore too expensive. Have mixed feelings about coming back.
I've booked the romantic suite to celebrate the anniversary of my wife and it was disappointing. In another hotel this was a standard room. I payed 214 euro for one night and for that price you even don't see the sea, you look up a wall. It's also a wellness hotel but they charge you 15 euro extra if you won't to use it. I'very visited other hotels on our coast where you pay the half of this room price and the wellness is included. The beak fast is average and the staff noisy. I'm not going back anymore. Normally I don't give bad reviews (see my others ) but now I have too.
I stayed at Beach Palace Hotel for two nights during an event in Blankenberge. The hotel is well maintained, the personnel very friendly and service-orientated. My room on 9th floor was spacious and modern - also the bathroom - and very clean as well. The breakfast at breakfast room on 1st floor - which is cozy with spectacular ocean and beach view - is very good. I can highly recommend Beach Palace Hotel in Blankenberge.
Beach Palace Hotel, Zeedijk 77, Blankenberge Before deciding to book a hotel, my husband and I first visited the Belgian coast to have a view of hotels on the seafront with rooms fully facing the sea. We were able to book a room for 3 nights at Beach Hotel, Blankenberge on the 2nd weekend of October. There was a certain smell when we entered the room - not sure whether cigarette or sea smell. The room was very spacious with a king size bed. Bathroom was spacious with brownish granite stone, a big bath tub, usual number of towels in a “4-star hotel” and toiletries (except hand-body lotion) and hairdryer. Toilet was separate. The room was very clean. Our critical attitude of the hotel started when we opened the heavy curtain. The lining on the side to open the door was tattered. At night, outside light passed through the holes. Some parts of the wicker bin’s cover were broken. The lid of the toilet was loose and didn’t exactly fit the bowl. The balcony was too narrow to put a chair on but the room has a full glass wall/window and one could simply pull the curtains to the side and position the chairs to have a wide view of the sea. Beds are comfortable with rather small squared pillows. The ceiling insulation is questionable. For two nights, we heard from the above floor the displacement of furniture and the steps of heeled shoes. Furthermore, it would have been helpful to know the numbers of the accessible TV channels. Breakfast with a full view of the sea in a neatly decorated spacious room set a pleasant mood to start the day. White wine was served. You get the variety of cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheeses, cereals, bread, croissants and other sweet rolls, fruit salad and orange. A few items must have been served for the 2nd time. I took the same fruit salad the following Sunday morning but it tasted spoiled. Two rolls didn’t taste fresh and were rather hard. (The elevator/lift had the arrow pointing down - it is for both up and down). If you need directions (hotel doesn’t provide a map) and you are told to go to the Tourism Office close to the train station, ask for details. The friendly people at the reception do not volunteer information. Beach Hotel is very well situated: close to the town centre and train station, public transport, marina/dock, casino, public park and children’s playground and sites, shopping streets, restaurants, outside parking areas (you can unload your luggage in front of the hotel, except in July&August), etc.. The hotel has parking under the hotel for €18.00/day. But take your smaller car. It would be difficult to manoeuvre a 7-seater. For other amenities the hotel offers, please Google their site. …
We didn't know Blankenberge, but wished to spend a couple of days by the sea before meeting up with a dear friend in Brussels. Horrible built up concrete sea front, and hotel part of it. Our sea front room had a spectacular beach and sea view, with great bay windows and a tiny balcony. Room was clean but lacked any feeling. Beds were very comfortable however. Pleasant sea facing breakfast room, with adequate spread. Nice personnel. This hotel is more a three star than the four advertised, and vastly overpriced.
Stayed for 1 night in a luxe room. These rooms are spaceious, and for 20eur more they install an extra bed for your child. The price is 170eur for 2 adults with 1 child, including breakfast. Included are access to the indoor swimming pool and spa, minibar in the room. The wifi is very fast in the room. Negative points: beds were hard, not confortable, 2 lights bulbs were broken in the room, and the light on the desk is missing the lampshade. The room decoration is outdated. I suspect our room is one of the last to need renovation... Positive points: the service is excellent, the servants are super friendly. Breakfast is very good, and offers a nice view over the sea. Nicely located.
Very nice hotel. Great beachside location, but also conveniently placed to access the rest of a beautiful Belgian town. Reception staff were excellent. Smiling, friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room had superb views out to sea. Highly recommended. I'd definitely go back in the future.
The room we were in was old fashioned or outdated. The view was miserable. The room was a minus for us. Badroom had a shower that was basic and difficult to configure for warm water. The beds were not good, I got up with a sore neck. TV quality was stone-age type. Great plus is the breakfast. Other important plus is the inside pool and the jacuzzi. I had these facilities for myself since nobody else seemed to appreciate.
