Very nice place, exposed brick, with a lovely rooftop view, and a charming entry. Jim the owner was friendly and hospitable. The beds and pillows were very comfortable beds, and the bath towels (from Portugal) were luxurious, the best of our 3 week trip. BUT BEWARE THE PARKING - the parking required at the main square was rather a pain...

Everything about this 500 yr. old house is charming, from location, to service, to the charismatic owner, Jim. Being able to enjoy breakfast on the balcony, with a panoramic view of the town and surrounding coutryside was the icing on the cake. Situated in the heart of the 'Old Town', all the historic sights, Tapas bars and restaurants are just...

Very nice and tipycal Spanish house in Arcos. Staff is very friendly, and gave us good suggestions. Patio is wonderful, and the view is amazing over roofs. Don't miss if you stay in Arcos. Follow istructions if you come by car,as streets are narrow and not easy to get here.

I am lucky enough to live in Arcos and in September this year had an 'overflow' of visitors from Australia. Casa Campana is nearby and I had heard that this was a 'typically Spanish' guest house so decided after checking it out to book a double room for 2 nights for two of my guests. I am so glad I...

Jim is the perfect host. On arrival he gave us a thorough orientation to our room, the hotel, and the town. He even has a professional walking guide brochure that was fun to do as well as helpful. We were his only guests for the one night of our stay, so we had the patio ( both levels) to ourselves....

Jim, the owner, was there to welcome us and is very nice. We were hot and tired after a full day of driving and he gave my husband a beer and me a glass of wine while we caught our breath and settled in. The place itself is a nice, big authentic old home. We had a room on the...

We arrived in Arcos at 5 a.m. (12 hours late) after a terrible 33 hour travel ordeal - bad weather, broken plane, late planes, and missed flight connections. Jim Porter, our host at Casa Campana had waited up for us and drove downtown at 5 a.m. to pick us and our luggage up. Two trips. A great welcome after a...

This was a beautiful town and this location was perfect. The view of the countryside from the balcony was lovely. Jim is a great host, very easy going and willing to help. We had a medical situation and he took the time to find a doctor that spoke English and accompanied us there to make sure we found it. Very...

Staying in a 500 year old, authentic hill town home was what we were looking for. We parked down the hill and hiked up with limited baggage. Sparsely decorated, but cute. There are only 3 rooms, we had the one with the double bed. Had a beer on the top patio with a wonderful view. Jim created a brochure with...
