We enjoyed 10 wonderful days in the Stadttor in July. The hotel is located near to the town square and all facilities but in a quiet street. It is a traditional Austrian hotel which is very friendly, welcoming and well-run.Booking ahead from Britain was very easy with no problems whatsoever. The owners are very accommodating and keen for guests to have...

Really enjoyed our stay here. Seven 'old boys' skiing. Friendly and chilled atmosphere. Large rooms. Brilliant location. Family run. With Crystal. Food half board plentiful, well prepared and varied. Reasonably priced drinks too. Helpful guide from Karl re apre ski too.

We booked the Stadttor as part of a Crystal Ski package holiday a bit wary due to the lack of reviews or pictures of the hotel. On arrival we where very warmly greeted and the check in process was very quick and easy. We had been allocated a family room which was huge, we had our own living area a...

We stayed at the Stadttor for a week on a Crystal Lakes and Mountains package. No rep in resort but staff very helpful with any information needed. Reasonable breakfast buffet, bottled water and a bag provided so you can make your own packed lunch. Saves time and money if you want to get out walking. 3 course evening meal, delicious...

A group of 8 of us (men aged early 50's to mid 60's) stayed here for our skiing holiday. The lady on reception was very welcoming, and when we enquired about the hotel bar, told us that it only shut if nobody was in. The intimation was that if you kept ordering drinks, it would stay open. The reality was...

Excellent base for a ski trip as its walking distance from all amenities and the Planai lift (so no need for a ski bus). Very friendly staff all of whom speak excellent English and a fantastic chef as the food was of good variety and excellent quality. Quite hotel in the evening with a comfortable bar and lounge area on...

My partner and I stayed here for a week in the summer, we found this hotel very comfortable but basic. Our room was spacious with a fantastic view of the Dachstein mountains from our balcony. The food as mentioned in previous reviews was good basic Austrian home food so don't expect haute cuisine. The hotel at this time of the...

The hotel was we believed a family-run and friendly hotel. Our experience was that the owners were very off-hand and appeared almost disinterested in the guests which is at variance with your other reviews so disappointingly, something has changed here. It was only when departing that we ourselves discovered the hotel leisure centre beside the ski-store! Otherwise, the hotel food...

We had an enjoyable stay at the Hotel Stadttor and in Schladming. Rooms were large and warm with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was homely and plentiful rather than cordon bleu. Do not need much more for a skiing holiday - place to ease your tired limbs in comfortable surroundings and replenish your energy...

We've recently returned from a weeks stay at this friendly family run hotel. We enjoyed a large corner room with a balcony which was clean and tidy with plenty of hanging space. The couple who own the hotel were cheerful and always on hand to answer questions and requests. We had half board and both breakfast and dinner were just what...
