Beena was an amazing hostess on one of our highlight experiences in India. The 9 acre organic farm grows all kinds of goodies from pepper, to cinnamon, to bananas and beyond. We even bought a bunch of spices that the family had harvested themselves (it's really rewarding to have personally seen the tree of the cinnamon that we bought). The... More

Then go and stay there! Clean and simple rooms. What matters in the very warm welcome of the owners, the nature all around you and the many many different fruit and vegetables growing in the garden. A good base to explore the national park. Go go go

Stayed for three nights in January 2016. Could easily have stayed longer, Bina and her husband were so welcoming. The homestay felt like paradise - modern accommodation in a beautiful setting. We had wonderful home cooked meals everyday, all ingredients from the family farm. It was lovely to eat with everyone else, the homestay was very sociable. Went for a... More

We were going to stay for four nights and decided to stay as long as our planes would let us, we were not the only ones extending our stay. The home made fresh food directly from their organic garden or the suite of activities they organize for you are just one of the many reasons this has been one of... More

Bina, her husband and their team are very welcoming and helpful. They even ended our last evening by singing us traditional songs in Malayalam which was fun. Make sure you have some songs in mind to sing back to them too :o) We did cool stuff like go looking for elephants after dark and we spotted 3 wild ones by... More

A fantastic place to stay... Lush gardens with hammocks, big clean rooms with WiFi and fans. I felt safe enough with the other guests and the location outside of town to leave my door wide open throughout the day. Beena and Varghese are very warm, calm and welcoming. The food here is fantastic - you eat your 3 meals a... More

We planned on staying 3 nights with Beena and Varghese but ended up having to stay an extra night with this lovely and entertaining host family as they were so hospitable and their home and farm is simply incredible. We had such a great time getting to know them and the others staying there- the 'treehouse' rooms were fantastic and... More

This was the very best homestay in a 6 week trip to South India, and also the best value. It has a tremendous atmosphere, great food in copious quantities, comfortable rooms and superb service. Beena organised a trek and a safari to Wayanad, and lent us a dog to guide us around the local area. I only wish we could... More

Vargese throwing frogs into the tree s was the highlight. (Flying frogs no cruelty involved). Practice a song so you can join in post dinner. Beena and Vargese the owners are superb hosts. Hussein the driver and guide is lovely. Walk in the fields meet the villagers. Varnam is in the community.

Fantastic home stay run by warm and charming people. Somehow the friendliness of the hosts rubs off on the guests and we had a really sociable and fun time at Varnam. We went on several safaris to Wayanad which were organized seemlessly by Beena and she also organized trekking. However it was also relaxing just to hang out in one... More
