The Palace n the small town n nearby Simlipal forest approach n palpala river dancing down from the hill on the rocks like a little girl they all made for each other .In addition 2nd LORD JAGANATH temple will tell you presence of GOD in this small town . Specially QUEEN of the palace with her kind hospitality made our trip ever memorable . On our last visit we met maharaja who was an excellent personality.
Stayed in this beautiful Royal palace for 2 nights - 15th Aug to 17th August. If you are looking for a short trip or weekend getaway then you can surely visit this palace. We booked a Standard Room for our stay. Room was not too big but it was a cozy one. Breakfast was included in the room price. You have options to choose from and breakfast will be prepared as per your chosen options. You can move around the Palace freely and keep taking as many snaps as you want all-around :) If you are a book lover then you must spend some time in their library as they have some good collection of books. You will have an unique experience for sure.
It was a wonderful colonial experience. The palace is worth a visit. The foot was good, the rooms are exquisite. Will definately come back for more. Its a perfect getaway location and super peaceful for work.
With its photogenic corridors and delicious food, my stay at Belgadia Palace will remain etched in the memory for a long time. The whole palace looks very well maintained when it comes to its indoors and outdoors. Staff is attentive and ready to help. Food is always well prepared and delicious. Great housekeeping. Very peaceful atmosphere overall. Has good outing options like seeing some archaeological ruins, old temples, local crafts and scenic spots around the town of Baripada. They are planning to add a bar and a spa which can be a huge bonus to the heritage property in the near future. Huge collection of books also.
The Belgadia Palace is a unique experience unlike any other homestay, it’s a royal homestay and managed by the royal family itself. What to Expect? There are budget rooms and large suites. The house has many great books. There are old antiques of the bygone era. Little bits of history are there in each corner. The Dining room has a beautiful old world charm, and the food is yummy well made home food. Super tasty and easy on the system. What to do around Belgadia Palace? I’m a hardcore nature lover. I found peace in exploring the Sitakund Waterfalls which is about a 30min drive from the Palace. This waterfall is in the buffer region of Simplipal National Park. You could easily spend a day there. (PLEASE DISPOSE of YOUR TRASH WISELY HERE.) Haripur is another historical site near the Palace. Ruins against a sunset is a photographer’s delight. Shopping at Boyonika can keep you preoccupied it’s ,the state curated handloom shop. This is about 5 minutes away from the Palace. Concluding, it’s only when you are sitting in the Ballroom my yourself; you will feel that in a few hundred years so much has changed. And that time waits for no one. Instagram: @theroshniali…
