I recently had a very enjoyable night away at Eastwell. It is a glorious house, with stunning gardens. The staff were all incredibly polite and helpful. Our room, the Duke of Edinburgh, was wonderful, complete with complimentary chocolates on arrival. The bar was relaxing and the restaurant was charming. The food wasn't anything special and I think the menu could certainly be improved. Breakfast was tasty, but sadly it took over an hour despite arriving at 8.30. They were clearly very busy and needed more staff, but I understand that there is a staff shortage across the hospitality sector. I will certainly return and will hopefully get to try out the spa next time.
We had afternoon tea at this lovely hotel. The afternoon tea was so tasty and filling. There was a variety of sandwiches. The cakes were to die for and the savoury pastries were fab. The staff were lovely and the hotel and grounds are stunning.
Very Disappointed. Service was pretty poor, was left for long periods. Had to find someone to order more drinks. Had booked online for my parents as a birthday treat for 4 of us. Had previously visited before so our expectations were high. Although the food was of good quality, the overall experience was flat. Lack of attention and care. After ordering an extra glass of fiz, we were not asked what type or informed of cost. Once bill arrived after again having to attract attention from absent staff. Was shocked at total cost of bill. An extra £12.00 per glass of fiz and gratuity added on top. In total over £200 spent. After paying the bill, we were again left and did not see anyone again. Left without not as much as a goodbye and thank you. Not thinking of going back anytime soon.
I went to Eastwell this evening as I needed to give a family member a lift to the gym there. Whilst there I went to the terrace to get a coffee and it took 20+ minutes for a member of staff to show up just for me to be told I needed to sit at a table and wait to have my order taken (I was waiting by a sign saying “wait here to be served’). After another wait I ordered a flat white from a waiter who was abrupt and short with me and then was served a cappuccino. Shocking service. Not to mention half the free tables were covered in dirty dishes which had been there since I arrived and remained after I left as well as the floor of the terrace being covered in all manner of litter. Would not recommend the terrace to anyone.
Paid a lot of money to stay in what we thought was going to a be a luxury hotel and spa experience. The bedroom had no aircon and just 2 tiny windows on the hottest day of the year we couldn’t get a minute of sleep. Our double bed was 2 single beds pushed together which was also so uncomfortable. The hydrotherapy pool was freezing cold and just unbearable to stay in. We were not told that our package included 2 50 min treatments and only found out once we checked out that we missed the time that was booked for us. We were never even asked which treatment or time we wanted, it was just booked for us and we were not even told! The service at the bar was ridiculously slow. We ordered 2 cocktails and had to wait over an hour to have them delivered. Not to mention the price of these cocktails was more expensive than what I would expect to pay in an upscale bar in Mayfair. Lunch and dinner was equally bad. We ordered a vegetarian salad which came with bits of fish in it. Our drinks arrived after we finished eating our meal. We will not be returning.…
