The people, the food, the service and the location are EXCELLENT but, according to the photos found on the net, I expected a much higher standard rooms! In fact, the rooms are very humid, ( the whole place is humid) and I saw many crawling and flying insects

We were staying for several days in Kolkata and I was determined to do some wildlife viewing in the Sundarbans. Going with Sundarban Tiger Camp was a good idea. They picked our party of 5 up in Kolkata in an airconditioned bus. Then we drove the 3.5 hours south to the last villages on dry land. Then they had a...

We stayed in a one bedroom cottage in the Tiger camp. Our room was clean and air conditioned thanks to the nearby generator. We also had an en suite bathroom. We were perfectly comfortable in this remote part of the world, where the villages have no electricity or running water. Yes, places like that still exist on our planet!! Each...

Recently I visited Sundarban Tiger Camp with my family for a two nights three days package. The overall experience of our trip is good. But there are enough opportunities to make this package more attractive. 1. The Executive Cottage, where we stayed is good but little shabby. Noise level of the air-conditioner is too high. Water flow in the wash...

We spent two nights here. You go here to see the mangroves and wildlife, all by boat day trips.. Generally, you will see birds, boars and deer, as well as mangroves. You are unlikely to see tigers. Overall, it was an interesting experience and I am glad I did it. The hotel is fairly rustic. In fact, it is on...

Good place with nice views and lavish facility. Food and service is very good. Great for relaxation and fun trip. Booking online is possible but private hoteliers often compromise the deal. They may promise but for extra money, may accomodate 2 parties for resources of one.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sunderban Tiger Camp started in 2004, located on Dayapur Island on the banks of the River Pitchkhali opposite the Sunderban Tiger Reserve famous for the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger and Salt water crocodiles and variety of birds, is a comfortable, ecofriendly resort for exploring the regions fascinating mangrove forests, islands and wildlife. As this island has no electricity and fresh water available, our guests are able to enjoy hospitality through rain water harvesting and solar energy. Guests can relax and enjoy the sun whilst cruising or at the resort. For the more active, our reception can organize tours round the Sunderban region or special activities such as wildlife safaris, dingy boat rides and crab catching. The resort has a private lake for viewing migratory bird and special birding walks within its grounds. You can even plant a tree with our gardeners.
