The setting was great and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Great swimming pool. Our stay was spoilt by an old bed with no mattress which made for an uncomfortable night. The base of the bed was dirty and torn. We ate at the hotel in the evening and the menu was limited with too much emphasis on nouvelle cuisine....

Not only the room, but their restaurant, is disappointing. Be aware what room you get in this "castle" (main building). There are small ones and rooms 3 times this size. Standard luxery and not as suggested on paper and website. Internet is absolutely unprotected and not stable in strength. One night perhaps will do, we did three nights...it is not...

Thank you for your comment, such a strong statement is the reflection of a very bad experience due to a weak internet signal? We have a special WiMax signal coming to the Château as, in the deep countryside, the fiber internet does not come! And the size of the rooms depend as well of the category, like in any hotel,...

We booked this hotel to spend the night on our way home. What a wonderful, beautiful place! We stayed in the building next to the castle, and although the room was a little damp, it had a really medieval feeling to it. Having dinner on the terrace next to the pool was an exhilirating experience. No noises, but the whistling...

Room 4 large but sparsely furnished, but flies (about 40) liked it !!. Bath in entrance foyer was behind a screen and a stupidly small wash hand basin. TV had fallen off wall. (Room did not have the newer windows). Dinner very disappointing, left most of my main course. Staff offered alternative but appetite gone by then. Doubt freshly prepared...

It is probably one of the nicest place you can find around the Formula 1 Circuit of Nevers Magny-Cours. When you spend hours on the circuit, you will appreciate this quiet environment and the landscape. The restaurant and breakfast are good and the rooms have everything you can expect: TV, free Wifi, Italian shower … The only thing which is...

The manager of this property was outright disrepectful. She was intolerant of following the package deal we bought and constantly worried she was not going to get paid. She sent us on a bike ride staying it would be about an hour to a small village, since we wanted to buy some wine since there's was so expensive. We were...

Such a wonderful sight coming down the driveway, especially arriving at night, then being taken up a stone spiral staircase to our room...wow factor. We had the evening meal both evenings,as expected it was very good with impeccable service..the breakfast was also also of a high standard,in my view sensibly buffet style. We shall certainly return.

What an incredible place to stay! Quiet, beautiful, peaceful, restful and the list goes on and on. I will most definitely return. The beds are comfortable. A typical French breakfast which was more than sufficient. I loved it

Its a very peaceful place, a deserted area, you need to have a car to have access to the closet village, but its a beautiful place, the rooms are clean, the service is excellent, very welcoming and helpful stuff, always smiling, it was an enjoyable experience. The breakfast should have been slightly better.

Stayed here for just one night in April. Friendly staff, comfortable room & excellent restaurant. The hotel is set in beautiful countryside but is easily accessible from the motorway. Very quiet & restful. And, even though our dogs did not come into the hotel ...it is pet-friendly!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The former summer residence of the dukes of Nevers, this charming Renaissance château has been fully restored. Less than five minutes from Magny-Cours, it is set in a magnificent park surrounded by a countryside worthy of the best paintings of Jean Watteau. Inside the château, its rooms will charm you, testaments to the decorative arts. In the annexes, the décors of the rooms take their inspiration from history and the natural environment: the Bertranges forest, the Pouilly vineyards, the Loire... a veritable immersion in south Burgundy. As for dining, you will be seduced by a cuisine that is inventive and modern while being solidly anchored in the land. We are delighted to welcome you, and to share with your our "Château life" ... more   less
