There are many pubs around the area (originally from here) and whenever I'm home, this is the one to go to. Unfortunately it's lost it's old world charm, with all the decorations and ornaments now packed away, but the food is always consistently good. Great fish and gammon (my favourite) and there's always some great picks on the specials. Service... More

I would just like to say what a lovely evening my friends and I had at the Jolly Farmer. We organised to have our annual Christmas Bash. The team were very accommodating for the 30 of us allowing us to section off our own part of the restaurant to eat together and then have our own disco. Everyone remarked on... More

My wife and I ate at the Jolly Farmer on December 18th and it was very disappointing. The place recently changed management and is working to a lower standard than previously. Firstly, the service was poor. We waited ages to have our order taken although the food was served up fairly quickly after that but the place was nearly empty.... More

My wife organised a surprise 60th Birthday party for me at this pub. On arrival the place was 'buzzing.' Our table of (6) was decorated with banners and bunting (organised by the pub) and we were given both the Xmas and the a la carte menu. The staff were in abundance and absolutely excellent in every way. The food although... More

The room was adequate but with very poor access. Night time was very noisy due to the out of hours drinking and smokers going outside until 2 or 3 in the morning. Breakfast was ok but crunchy fried eggs!! The food in the restaurant could have been better. Our ladies had to change their orders 3 times due to menu... More

We had already decided we wanted to watch the England rugby game here ad we had drinks here a couple of times over the week. We were not disappointed. We got there early so we could get s good spot to watch the match as only a small bar (although the manager had erected a marquee with a big screen).... More

Stayed here in 2013...never again. Meals were great, staff lovely but my company I worked FO didn't pay bill so owner (something o'grady) got really aggressive and nasty across the bar and threatened to kick me out. At 9pm on a Friday when I'd just done a 12 shift wasn't good and staff were told to get me from room by... More
