We stayed one night (wouldn't want any longer!!) and really enjoyed it as an experience. We arrived about 10am and had a tour which included trying a reindeer sausage and some crowberry juice from local producers. We got to look at the hotel and all the rooms from this season - they are different every year obviously as they melt...

This is a must do if you visit Kirkenes during the winter time. The Snowhotel is made of 15 tonnes of ice and decorated by Chinese ice specialists. It’s hard to describe how beautiful the Ice-bar and rooms are so take a look at my attached photos! Ice-bar serves ice cold Vodka in glasses made of ice! After visiting the...

In the most amazing location, the Snow Hotel is a feat of engineering which only lasts for a few months and gets rebuilt for next winter. Visit the reindeer and see the albino close up. The 150 huskies add to the ambience! Have a walk around, a light snack or a drink in the heat or in the ice bar,...

We just returned for a trip celebrating my husband's birthday. I am a pretty seasoned traveler, I typically gravitate towards luxury and I almost never write reviews, but I feel compelled to write about this place and experience. The Snow Hotel is beautiful and something to see - the artistry (and engineering!) is incredible....and yes sleeping in -4C with shared...

What, I hear you say, ‘You awarded five stars for a chance to survive a night in an igloo-style bedroom, where the temperature remains a constant -5 Celsius?!’ Yes, but it is not that simple. There is so much more to the Kirkenes Snow Hotel than simply bundling up in a voluminous sleeping bag for the night. To put it...

If you are like us who would like to stay within the premises of the Snow Hotel but are afraid of the cold, you may consider booking their cabins - made of wood with heated floors, and a clear glass window to view the auroras (if they come out). The cabin comes with two comfortable beds, bedroom slippers, towels and...

The hotel was just built around a week and every room has its own theme. Just stayed a night and we were given a sleeping bag on top if the mattress laid over the ice block. Trust me , the sleeping bag really kept us warm and had good sleep. The hotel has the adjoining sauna and shower facility. Do...

The staff at the Snowhotel were very welcoming and it's a fascinating building. Now well outside Kirkenes rather than the original location, we were told that it is rebuilt every year by Finnish/Russian snow hotel specialists using a snow cannon to create the right kind of snow and to build a structure over inflated room "moulds" in a month. A...

If you find your self this way at all, I know that's a big ask but it's worth an extra night on your cruse, with dog sleighing on sight it makes a great extra night. The rooms are sparce with no doors, sleeping bags are the order of the night 😃😃

Snow is a gift from the sky. Cold, still, pure and beautiful. Welcome to Kirkenes Snowhotel. To a world where you sleep in snow, walk on snow and may drive a scooter or a dogsled on snow. We even serve snow in the restaurant! Our romantic Snowhotel opens December 20th., and is open until April 20th. Kirkenes Snowhotel lies secluded in the wilderness 8 km outside Kirkenes. Here 180 huskies await you. Reindeer are grazing behind our unique chalets. Under the fjord ice, the giant King crabs dwell.
