Welcome to Winter Wonderland! 20 dreamlike rooms uniquely carved by master ice sculptors from around the world. Enjoy an unforgettable dinner and a night cap in the ice bar. Sleep safely and warm in thermal sleeping bags, in complete arctic stillness. Our snow hotel is open 20.12-20.04. Our Gamme cabins are open all year round. Inspired by the traditional Lapland hunting and fishing hut “gamme” found in the Sami areas of the Arctic. All cabins are equipped as small jewels - air conditioning, underfloor heating, bathroom with Aurora wall. Be sure to visit our Winter Park: our reindeer, dogyard with its 200 huskies. Stop by Gabba Cafe for lunch. Prebook and enjoy a 3 course dinner in the magnificent Laven restaurant. Last but not least, visit the surreal Snowhotel. We also arrange northern lights tours, snowmobile safaris, ice fishing and snowshoe walking tours, the infamous Kirkenes King Crab Safari and numerous Husky activities. "Best Trip" – voted by The National Geographic.

It takes 2 - 4 weeks to build the snow hotel. The men and women work hard under extreme cold temps to build this hotel. And when weather warms up it melts down. It certainly isn’t an easy job building such an establishment & having to do the same process year in and year out. Yes, its entertainment for those who wish to ticket this off their bucket list. Its not cheap but its individuals choice. Here’s my view point. Not my cuppa cold to sleep in an ice cabin. The carvings and structure looked amazing and great craftsmanship. Its not a 5 star Hotel with the usual 5star experience. This is a different kind of experience. One that u want to tick off saying I slept like an eskimo in an igloo, how often in life do we or can we experience that. This is the experience the Snow Hotel

We have always wanted to visit this place. A trully magical snowy Winter Wonderland. We've spent 3 nights overall - 2 of which in the cabins and 1 in the Snow Hotel and this is the way to do it! An absolutely lovely, breathtaking place and scenery all around. Tons of snow, tons of ice, tons of fun and attractions! We did the snowmobiles, the huskys and our favourite - the King Krab Ice Fishing which from the very beginning was on our bucket list and it is safe to say that we were not disappointed! Absolutely reckomend this place to couples and families, a perfect snow getaway! Will definitely try and come back in the summer as well!

I’ve been to the Snow Hotel in February 2019 and stayed for 3 nights: 2 nights in a cabin and one night in the Snow Hotel. It was a really great time. Sleeping in the Snow Hotel is of course one of a kind experience. You should definitely try. Cabins are really cozy and charming. Food is really good, quality ingredients. They offer also vegetarian and vegan options. I’ve done two excursion: Huskies and King Crab Safari. Can recommend both of them. Especially King Crab is something different. If you’re a seafood person, then really should try. They have an international crew out there. People all around Europe are working there, all really friendly and helpful.

To call this a hotel is misleading. The "Snowhotel" is built of man-made snow using heavy machinery and comprises twenty rooms off a long corridor with no doors. Each room has a decorative carving of a Disney character or Marilyn Monroe and during the day is a tourist trap with hundreds of visitors trudging through. If you have the misfortune to be staying here overnight you cannot occupy your room until after dinner. You cannot turn the lights off, there are no doors and you lie in a thick sleeping bag with melting snow dripping on your nose. Most people give up after a few hours and retreat to the concrete building attached. The whole experience is dispiriting rip-off. For £550 you get a Youth Hostel style dinner, overnight stay and a joke of a breakfast. You can buy

We timed our trip up the coast to coincide with staying at the snow hotel for New Year’s Eve and what an experience it was. Truely amazing place. The carvings on the room walls have to be seen to be appreciated. Sleeping in the hotel was such a laugh, though not the most comfortable night. Getting into the sleeping bag was a challenge in itself. And if you can’t make it through the night they have a dedicated warm room to relax in. The staff were great, friendly and helpful and some other wonderful travellers made the night even more enjoyable. Not a cheap place but then Norway in general isn’t and you will probably only do it once.
