We also stayed here after two nights out on the Hurtigruten ship Vesteralen. We stayed in the cabins and really enjoyed them. They're nicely appointed, warm and very inviting. We had dinner one night...very good and shared with some new friends from Australia and then had breakfast the next day. We cross country skied, took a dog sled ride and even drove the sled (though one of the dogs was in heat and that just kept messing up the dogs concentration which was hilarious) and went star gazing that night. An outstanding time and well worth your visit. DO NOT MISS the crab fishing. If you're into crab, it is the best you'll ever eat...and probably the most you'll ever eat. The snow hotel is a great story and tour and the artistry of the carvings is amazing.
This resort was amazing. Had just spent a week on a Hurtigruten trip and spent the night in one of the ice rooms. The sleeping bags we were given were certainly warm. We were not cold at all. We played with the Husky puppies on their morning walk and toboganned like children. Breakfast and dinner were included and were satisfactory. After dinner we took a walk and enjoyed seeing the lights which put on a display for more than an hour. It was cold outside, -23, but worth getting cold for. We recommend this experience. Snow could make movement difficult for those with impairments.
We stayed in a cabin at the Snow Hotel - lovely peaceful outlook of the hills and ice hotel. Dinner and breakfast was included - dinner was a little 'holiday camp' style all seated at a long table but lovely food. Breakfast was basic - be early as food ran out. I found this hotel expensive - needs spa / sauna. I think they can make some simple improvements. The price makes it in the 'luxury' category but it is more mid range. The staff were excellent - especially Dennis and Sascha who were absolutely fun, friendly and made the stay memorable. The Snow hotel itself is quite amazing and serene inside - each room has a different theme cut from the snow and ice. it's an experience. Huskies were a treat and awesome to be able to be able to play with them! During the winter this…
The artists that carve this hotel are skilled, amazing and very friendly. This is a must see attraction when visiting Kirkenes. We visited as part of a Hurtigruten trip, also seeing the reindeer park and taking in a Huskey ride.
Stayed at the Hotel for one night in a cabin after the Hurigruten Ferry on 28th Feb 19. Wonderful to see snow, blizzard overnight, lovely outlook, We did see a wondrous Light Show as well. The dogs are excited to see people and to pull the sleds. Good food, very nice staff. The Ice Hotel is something else! very cold - 20 C ,and we used all our woolies. Staff members Sascha and Dennis very helpful and charming
