My husband and I spent 2 nights at the cabin at Kirkenes Snowhotel in November before the snow hotels and ice bars are built (usually mid Dec). We had a great experience - very impressed with the staff's attention to detail and enthusiasm. They went above and beyond in making sure our needs were taken care of and made great...

We visited as an excursion from our Hurtigruten trip. The tour guide was very informative and very funny, and the hotel itself spectacular, though I can't say I'd want to spend the night, even with all the equipment. Each room is individually designed; it was all extremely attractive, and some of the ice carvings and sculptures were stunning. Well worth...

I spent one night at the Snowhotel when I was on holidays at a Norwegian friend's in January. It was an amazing experience. The hotel was wonderful and the sculptures in the ice were flawless. The bedding wasn't really comfortable but for one night it was perfect. During the dinner, a nice woman explained to us what to do to...

Visually stunning, but a long night in the cold despite being given all the equipment . The site had opportunities for dog sledding and snow activities as well as a central cafe and a warm lounge with some wifi. People could book cabins to stay in rather than the ice rooms in the snow hotel. This I think would be...

We took a trip to the snow hotel as an excursion from our Hurtigruten cruise as it seemed interesting. Underestimate, it was brilliant. You need to actually see it as pictures which have been uploaded show examples but just do not do it justice. All the bedrooms and corridor were made out of snow and ice. Beds and other items...

Kirkenes is a small town located close to the Norwegian/Russian border. It offers attractions like the KIRKENES SNOWHOTEL and the winter tours that it provides. The hotel is a lovely and open place that includes a snow hotel and several chalets. We have been lodged in one comfortable chalet with its wide window to see the wonderful landscape, but have...

This was to be the highlight of our visit to Norway and we flew up and back from Oslo for our one night in the cabin. Booked, paid for and confirmed in September 2015 we arrived in February to find they did not have a cabin for us. They apologised and said the same had happened to 3 couples in...

We stayed in the snowhotel for one night and then moved to Kirkenes for 3 days. The staff at the Snowhotel were friendly and were knowledgeable about their area of expertise. We went husky sledging..Amazing. So went again. Both Mushers, Adrian and Josh, were nice, chatty and good fun. The huskies were well cared for and enjoyed their work. We...

We stayed here for a night in March 2016. The entire visit was magical--from the moment we stepped of the bus, until we left the next morning. We were met by the staff, given a nearly private tour of the entire compound (including husky puppies). We toured the ice rooms, but because I am cold intolerant, we opted to stay...

Snowhotel is build from scratch every year, but this time it was also relocated further away from Kirkenes than the previous location. As such the husky group has moved with them. It probably will always attract people, who wanna spend a night on an icy bed for the trill of it, which is OK with me. But in 2012 we...

Snow is a gift from the sky. Cold, still, pure and beautiful. Welcome to Kirkenes Snowhotel. To a world where you sleep in snow, walk on snow and may drive a scooter or a dogsled on snow. We even serve snow in the restaurant! Our romantic Snowhotel opens December 20th., and is open until April 20th. Kirkenes Snowhotel lies secluded in the wilderness 8 km outside Kirkenes. Here 180 huskies await you. Reindeer are grazing behind our unique chalets. Under the fjord ice, the giant King crabs dwell.
